The Elias Aerospace Coporation (70%), Freedom Country(10%) and Crookfur(20%) are proud to finally unveil EA-60 Carrier Support Aircraft. It was designed as a cure-all airframe that would perform the roles of airborne early warning, anti-submarine operations, electronic warfare as well as being easily convertible to a carrier based refuelling tanker. The aircraft uses many innovative design features such as having no horizontal stabiliser and instead using variable pitch canards to better control landing speeds and improve safety when landing on aircraft carriers.
Design
The EA-60’s airframe uses aluminium-lithium composites to maximise thrust to weight ratio and with variable pitch canards replacing the horizontal stabilisers it offers unequalled controllability and efficiency, crucial for carrier landings. For stowage aboard carriers the aircraft’s wings sweep back flush with the fuselage. Titanium, shock absorbing landing gear and arresting gear produced by Freedom Country limits airframe fatigue during the stressful operations of carrier takeoffs and landings. The design of the aircraft is designed to be relatively low-observable and incorporates RAM coatings and Stealth features to minimise RCS. The flight controls and cockpit developed by Crookfur are highly advanced and allow for a flight crew of only two and unparalleled levels of control and safety. The aircraft is powered by a pair of High Bypass turbofans produced by Elias Precision Engineering and they have proven in tests to be ultra reliable in nearly all enviromental conditions and in conjuction with integrated fuel control systems offer very good fuel economy and performance.
Specifications (All Versions)
Powerplants: 2x EPE-136M High bypass turbofans producing 15,990lb of thrust each.
Performance: (varies slightly between versions)
Max Speed: 510 knots
Cruise Speed: 440 knots
Max Ferry Range: 2100-2800nm
Service Ceiling: 48,000ft
Wing Span: 68.4ft
Length: 62ft
Flight Crew: 2 + version specific mission crew
Crookfur Developed Systems:
Cockpit Fly by light controls, with side by side layout with choice of conventional yoke or fighter style stick control, full glass cockpit with 5 MFDs per station and forward and side wide angle HUDs (helmet disply compatable).
Navigation: full open architecture navigation system with auto pilot, GPS, radio compas and advanced INS
Weapons and missions handling: full open architecture missions software, open standard stores managment system. For self defense giudance a MK5007 Multimode IR/EO system is employed. It features surface surveillance mode with 50x magnification and detection of targets at 180km. In air IRST mode up to 10 targets with ranges of up to 75km can be tracked.
CFES MK20B Warsphere Data link, integrates all onboard systems and provides digital links for
the transmission of data to and from (and through ie using the aircraft as a relay) the aircraft features full voice and other coms systems with high level of encryption.

EA-60C AEW Version
Versions
EA-60A Development Prototype/Carrier Logisitics Version
Unit Cost: $36 Million
The EA-60A is a basic version if the aircraft with only the standard systems, instead it has a main cabin equipped to seat 18 passsengers and carry up to 3,400lb of freight. It is therefore smaller than the C-2 Greyhound which it was designed to replace/compliment and the Elias Navy will instead start a new program for a larger COD aircraft.
EA-60B Anti-submarine/Anti-ship Version
Unit Cost: $55 Million
-Armament:
Internal Weapons bay for up to four torpedoes/mines/depth bombs.
Two wing hardpoints for Torpedoes/External fuel tanks or Harpoon/Yakhont/SLAM/Meverick or similar ASMs.
Two wing hardpoints for AIM-9X/ASRAAM/AA-12/similar short range air to air missiles.
Alternatively can be configured as tanker with two wing mounted buddy pods and extra fuel tank in internal weapons bay.
-Systems:
ERS/EM-1134 Sonarbuoy dispenser: internally stores up to 36 sonarbouys/marine markers/noise makers, uses cartridge actuating devices to dispense.
MK2010 Radar (Crookfur): optimised for naval surveillance operations, the MK2010 can detect periscope sized targets at over 200km (and ship size targets at over 500km).
MK8003 MAD (Crookfur)
MK9505 Sonarbuoy handling system (Crookfur): Combines receiver, data interpretation with 128 channel processing and data transmission and display for over 100 sonarbouys.
-Additional Mission Crew: 4
EA-60C Airborne Early Warning Version
Unit Cost: $88 Million
-Armament:
Two wing hardpoints for AIM-9X/ASRAAM/AA-12/similar short range air to air missiles
-Systems
Tail fin mounted CFES MK1205N (Crookfur) surveillance radar. Using electronic ECM resistant scanning the MK1205N offers 360 degree detection of up to 3000 maritime and air targets at ranges out to 350NM (650km) and detailed scanning for fighter sized targets out to 630NM (1100 km).
-Additional Mission Crew: 3
EA-60D Electronic Warfare Version
Unit Cost: $65 Million
-Armament:
Internal Weapons bay for up to two HARM/ALARM or similar Anti-radar missiles
Two wing hardpoints for HARM/ALARM or similar Anti-radar missiles, alternatively can mount ALQ-99 or similar jamming pods.
Two wing hardpoints for AIM-9X/ASRAAM/AA-12/similar short range air to air missiles.
Alternatively can be configured as tanker with two wing mounted buddy pods and extra fuel tank in internal weapons bay.
-Systems:
MK10015 (Crookfur): targetable jamming system with emissions processing and interpretation system. Can provide broad band jamming over a wide range or localised effects against specific targets and also has Electronic Intelligence capability
ERSS-180R Automatic Elint Emitter Locater System (AEELS): intercepts electronic and signals transmissions and automatically sifts the data for useful information. Includes an integrated direction finding system to track the position of radar sites and communication centres.
Additional Mission Crew: 4
Optional Systems (All versions)
