"Any Objections?"
The question hung out across the large conference table. Seated there were the top executives of every major corperation the Kingdom held. All the cream of this society. Privalged, educated, and content.
Yet contentment always breeds restlessness.
The King was CEO of 'Lakashi' a minor player in the world of automobile manufacture, but the largest company in the kingdom and head of the regional conglomerate of several companies under one ruling body. This was based largly on the council of religious orders, where the head was proclaimed King. Through time captialism outbid spiritualism in the people's hearts...
It made sense if you lived there. Really.
The King was dead, the tell tale sign being the rather large hole in his head. The tirggerman was his son and now current CEO and 'King'.
The issue raised? The legitimacy of his position.
No objections raised.

So it begins. The Kingdom of Son so small you would miss it if you didn't know where to look for it. If you DID know about it, you are either a geographical hobbyist, or an auto dealer. The cars produced there are rare and unique where each is crafted in a particular design. Their most unsusal is a multi passenger vehical that measures 20 feet long and carries 7 people.
Specs and info on car: Motor, steering, driver controls are mounted in a snake shaped 'head' while subsequent links hold a passenger each. By being connected with industrial cable (laced with fiber optics) each passenger is connected to the head and enjoys a private compartment, and the effect looks like a large snake.
(word on weather its scarey looking, can drive up the side of buildings or underwater is being examined by competent sources. Cool McCool. :) )
Though most would not be caught dead buying such a car, buy giving away one to a influential actor in the upcoming blockbuster smash 'Ohio Jonesy and the temple of Snakes' it became a fad. This is an example of the Kingdom's marketing and manufactoring strategies.
The army (if you could call it that) consists of a police force there to maintain the status quo, not stop crime. Their training consists of riot control, torture (public secret), intimidation and urban warefare. They are not trained for heavy combat, and their heaviest weapons are armored carriers, heavy pressure water tanks( only 7 in the entire kingdom, 4 of which are in the captial. Think S.W.A.T. and thats about it.)
The news of the King's death was detailed as a stroke brought on by sudden head trauma. Cut to grieving son promising to hold stability to the fragile government, a love for the people, and a day of mourning...
