if you can shrink the gun and the ammunition then yes but, i guess we would need a better nation to build/develop it for you (not that u couldn't afford that :P)
why would it be useless. And this may sound godmodding but couldn't you drop it from a B-52?

ok so you could drop it out of a C-5 into the middle of the enemy flet and one shot may sink a carrier. Even if both are destroyed you've taken out a carrier and maybe some planes!
OOC: Yes, it would be possible. However, you would have to use special light-weight materials so it would not sink, and the boat would be very, very slow. So basically: useless due to the slow speed.
And a 180mm gun could not sink a carrier (I don't think... I'll be back in a minute with a more educated guess.)

Look, if you dropped it from a B-52, it'd smash itself into oblivion when it hit the water.
Look, if you want to kill a ship, use a Harpoon Missile. A 180mm gun would just be a waste of money and space. Missiles do more damgage, are more accurate, and have longer range.

No, it would get shot down before it hit the water. Not to mention a 180mm gun would not kill any ship in one shot, and this thing would have enough time to fire 0.

No. It still needs a hull, and ammo storage, and it's still useless. Missiles are still way better.

A missile would be cheaper, and more effective. Why waste vulnerable aircraft like the B-52 or C-5 that would be popped by some punk with an AIM-54?

I looked... 180mm is about seven inches. The US Navy uses five inch guns on some medium size ships ships (like Destroyers). In other words, no. It would have to take up the entire craft almost, if it could even fit. Like said above, just use a missile.

No, it's TOTALLLY POINTLESS. A WASTE OF MONEY. The C-5 would be shot down by a AIM-54 or whatever 50 miles before the transport even got there. Exocets would be cheaper and easier.

Why are you obsessed with huge guns? Battleships have no value. A single F/A-18 could sink a battleship. An 800mm gun would just be another waste, missiles are cheaper and more effective.

hmm.. a gun that big would be used for coast defense...
on the other hand, imagine a torpedo boat.. much better.. fast maneuverable and with two to four torpedos that could substantially damage and sink a ship...
a gun on a B-52?? please.. those things are not jet fighters... would be easy prey for any triple A or SAM site when it lined for the shot...
