The relatively puny People's republic of Deutsche Demokratie had just declared it's independence in it's own little corner of the Alerican region. The quiet socialist nation was headed by the Bundestag (parliament), the head of state being Prime Minister Erwin Muller. Currently the country was only a meager seven million strong, but high birth rate left much potential for the people that populated the lush forests and roaming plains of the Republic.
In essence the country was a free man's paradise. Albeit taxes were high, the country's social welfare programs were one of the most sophisticated on the continent. roughly .075% of the country's budget was allocated to creating an army to defent the nation's meager borders...and perhaps one day expand them.
