David Grimwalde, Federal Aviation Administration advisor steps up to the podium, cameras flicker and flash. The room is hushed, the people are tense and taught. A sense of urgency and loss covers the room like a tarp.
"We have determined the cause of the explosion on board that claimed the lives of 360 of the 365 people on board flight 262."
Again, silence except for the flickers of the cameras and a slight feedback coming from the microphone.
"A terrorist group have claimed responsibility. We received a message from Prime Minister Robert A. Fullition of the Anti-Terror Army, and ironically, they're the culprits."
Grimwalde steps down from the podium, and General Abraham Van Helsing steps up. He's a large, formidable man, his jaw is taught, his aviators glasses magnify his intense eyes. More cameras flicker.
"This is a most heinous act. Many innocent women and children were killed. Several of them belonged to other countries. This incident will not go unwarranted. Our troops are amassing on the coasts, preparing for a possible attack. The Anti-Terror army is now and will forever be an enemy to the people of the United Socialist States of Chicken Island. Several countries have pledged support, and by God, we're going to use it."
As he steps down, reports surge and ask questions.
"Sir, is that a declaration of war?"
Van Helsing steps back up to the podium. "No. But it's a warning. Run that in your damned papers. That's all I got to say."
