Formation of the Socialist People's Army

As the PSOE took power in the Duma today (the Duma is the advisory to the emperor) they proposed the creation of a new arm of the military, which would be loyal to the Duma not to the empire.

The Emperor consented and decided to raise 10 infantry divisions of the Socialist People's Army, totaling some 200,000 soldiers.

These men would be used in pro-socialist uprisings in other nations and such. The Emperor also expects armored divisions, as well as artillery divisions to join the ranks of these new armies. He also says that the number of infantry may very well rise to 1 million.

The SPA would always be mobilized and is centralized in the conquered provence of the Ardennes (past NDA).

Here, here. The end to capitilism is upon us. I wish to pledge my army in this way. I have a full army of 200,000 and a total of 500,000 can be mobilized bringing a total to 2 million which includes reserves

My nation is fully capitalist and only the Duma is dominated by the PSOE (Partido Socialista Obrero Espanol).

Any Socialism sucks. Most have been erased from my territories.

You obviously must take a look at the real world. France, Spain and Canada have already introduced the fruits of socialism and mixed them with the crux of capitalism to create a prosporous democratic world, something my empire tries to imply and use.

Spain is a world power, as well as France. In fact Spain, behind England, is the United State's only true ally.

Canada, only a few years ago had the third largest navy in the world. France has the second largest, and the second well trained army in the world. Only Israel can rival that of France (behind the United States).

It was a lot longer then a few years ago, more like almost 70 years ago

Not the way they were, with Spanish Armadas and Napolean...

Canada having the 3rd biggest navy? Good joke.

At the very least 50 years ago, because I know Canada had the Third Largest Fleet after the Second World War, which was only 60 years ago and then it was a major contestant in the Six Day War peace fleet that entered the Mediterranean in 1967.

as "a few years ago" I thought you meant in the 80-90's.

And france is reducing it's army down to less than 100k

I'm not laughing.

The Spanish Armada was well over 400 years ago and Napoleon some 200 years ago.

Its a new age and socialism, as a supplement of Capatilism, is on the rise. The European Union, built on this idea rivals the United States economically (the Euro is worth more than the dollar).

Army size has nothing to do with the economic capability and might actually be a good idea on their part.

Yes Canada did have the 3rd largest after WWII, that is a fact, but who was contending with them? The Japanese Fleet had been destroyed, the German Navy was gone as well, the Soviets had yet to build a massive fleet, and the Royal Navy and US Navy were incredibly far ahead of them in numbers of ships, they were kinda floating there in the middle

Bah...modern europe is a wannabe. Big deal if the euro is worth more than the dollar, theres how many yen in each dollar and the japanese have a great economy.

OOC: The world is generally becoming progressively more Socialist. Maybe because we look at Sweden, Norway, Canada, Germany and France and think, "damn, that's how it should be."

It's worth it when you look at the level of services provided. The US(for example) doesn't even have free healthcare...

More Socialist or Social Democratic nations have lower costs of living, because more things are prepaid by your taxes.

I completely agree with you. Also, New Zealand, a nation which follows modern socialist ideals of free welfare and medical care has one of the leading per capitas in the world, as is well under the size of the United States, thereby elimanating the argument of "it has less people in it."
