We ahve dicorvered...the pointy stick that stays pointy!

18-10-2003, 12:47
We are now selling them!

First, there were splattering mudballs, then the pointy stick, then fire- and now, the culmination of all 3- the pointy stick that stays pointy!
Through trial and error, the men of the tribe have discovered a precious secret. When you put mud on a pointy stick, and hold it over the fire, it stays pointy for many moons.
The small man has decided that he will sell these secret sticks, so that all the tribes of the BC era will be much safer from things that they have yet to learn about. (The sticks are sure to stop any nuke that comes their way-jk)
Each secret stick will be sold for 10 turtle shells, rabbit skins, or silver stones.
The small man would also like to remind the BC nations that he will still be selling his “magic stones” (that create fire again and again) for 4 turtle shells, his splattering mudballs (only in quantities of 100 or more) for 3 turtle shells each, and the original pointy stick, for 2 turtle shells.

Cassir Donid opened his mouth to speak, but stopped for the third time, and frowned once more.

"Putting aside for a moment the facts of their savage lack of technological knowledge.." he said to a fellow courtier, scratching his cheek with his wooden etching tool as he briefly paused once again "..does anyone understand how they hope to trade a single fire-hardened stick given that they've explained the process of their manufacture to anyone who cared to listen?"

Donid's companion only shrugged.

"Alright then.. given their propensity to refer to a calandar that hasn't yet been invented.. and for a moment going with them on this.. why on earth do they assume themselves so significant amongst 'BC nations', and what on earth should we want with fire-hardened wood?"

The other man appeared to be loosing interest, and was now regarding his own bearded visage with the aid of an excessively polished bronze artwork of some drug-induced design.

OOC: Are you and Sawana the same person? Just wondering, because if not, the three of us should try to start a movement. I never thought of making a B.C. based nation before... I've got nations of all government types across all time periods, but I never thought of a B.C. nation for some reason.

IC:

In the Hut of Assembly, the councilmembers, mildly amused, said, "We discovered this long ago! Now we use sticks with pointed rocks on the end, ! These people are horribly behind the times!" They decided to send their best rider on their fastest donkey to the Melarungdar village, to offer them the knowledge of rock-sticks (spears), Stone-Throws (catapaults), Thunder-Trees (battering rams), and Rock-Stick-Throws (Bow and Arrows). In exchange for some goods, of course.

"Stone-tipped weapons and already they have fortifications defeat of which requires heavy siege weapons?"

"Life is certainly interesting beyond Alshor, is it not?" Donid laughed, presently spying a mahout friend of his pass by the window. A mischievous twinkle caught the young Cassir's eye..

"Ohh no! Have some wine, friend, the elephantry has enough serious work.."

OOC: It's not like the middle-ages battering rams. It's a long, with a round stone tip, used to knock over wooden stockades.

OOC: No, Sawana's just my friend.

IC: The short man grins happily, and passes over 10 of the sticks. When he gets the 100 turtle shells, though, he falls over under the weight and is forced to send for help.
Once he is clear of the shells, he welcomes the rider, and thew gifs that he brigs
"Me like gifts. Me like you. Tell cheif we happy. Tell cheif to move to me region."

"Excellent" said the rider. "We are happy to, in exchange for these trinkets, allow you to improve your forces."

He rode back, and the Tribal Council debated. Eventually, they decided to move to the region mentioned. The huts were packed up, and everyone climbed onto their donkeys, and rode off towards the new region. +-
