Would this work
A missile thats designed to take out subs from long distances. It takes off froma ship etc. flying towards the sub, when it gets to the target it ends the rocket motor and becomes a torpedo. it would have an ICBM range, for one type or 2000 kilometers for as shipped launched missile
it would need to slow down considerably or it would disintegrate on impact.
this is how it would fly straight up when nearing its targe, cut engines and act like an airborn torpedo.
Wouldn't that be just like the early rockets that Germany used in WWII?
a bit i guess but torpedos take to long, and regular missiles cant take out subs.

Hmm. ICBMs go far too fast, and the structure of missiles and torpedos is so different internally that it would be either too heavy to go that far, or too weak to survive impact with the water.

It does'nt have to hit the sub, a big enough pressure wave would snap a sub like a dry stick. You these days torpedos does'nt hit it's target, it either explodes under, over or one of the sides.
ya. Wouldn't it work what would be the problem. And if so how do airborne torpedo survive.
