Brass Rails - Change of Ownership

The Emperor sat alone in the darkened Legislative Chamber.

He had ruled for many years through good times and bad - but now as his body failed, his enemies were growing strong...the military was no longer under his firm grip - the public service didn't follow his direction - his aids conspired behind his back.

The weight of his office bore down on him. Perhaps it was time to leave - time to retire....

The EAS 747 landed on the runways of Brass. It had the Diminix flag all along the side of it. The mobile stairs where wheeled to the side of the plane where the door was and three Diminix Secret Servicemen walked out. Behind them came the Foreign Ambassador representing the Holy Empire of Diminix, Chingy. He walked down the small flight of stairs and watched a convoy of ten black Limosuines drive up right to him. In the second limo a man in a suit opened the door, got out and shook Chingy's hand.

"Sir, the Emperor is waiting" - Man
"Alright, let's go" - Chingy

Chingy got in the second limosuine and the convoy started drivin' away down to the Emperors palace.

"EDWARD!" the old man called out.

Scurrying into the room, the aid replied, "Yes my Emperor?"

"I have visitors coming - prepare some food and drinks. They will be here shortly, and once they've arrived I don't want any interuptions."

"Of course Sire."

Edward left the darkened chamber and ordered the meal prepared. He returned to his office and picked up the phone.

"Ya - its me. The old man is up to something - he has company coming and a delegation from Diminix just landed at the airport. I doubt it's for a tupperware party.....Well I don't care how - just do it."

The aide hung up the phone and walked to the window - looking blankly at the pristine grounds of the legislative building.

"What is the old man up to." he said to himself.

The convoy pulled up to the Emperors palace at 11:01 a.m on Saturday morning. Secret Servicemen once again walked into the palace first before Chingy. The palaces' doors opened up and Chingy walked in. He examined the place while shakin his head. Then he turned to his personal security guard.

"Place isn't so bad. We gonna like this. So where's the Emperors chamber at?" - Chingy

Then a royal guard for Brass Rails assisted him to the chambers.

"Gentlemen - welcome to Brass Rails."

The old man led the delegation to his private library, where they each took a seat in large, leather-clad lounge chairs.

"I have ruled this country for 40-odd years. In that time we have build our economy - and supported the efforts of our neighbour and ally Wolfish. We have fought honourably in wars, and build our nation in peace time.

But now - the future seems dim. Should I retire and walk away either the generals will win this seat, or the professional politicians will take over. Either way - the result for my nation is not good.

My only hope is that I can leave in peace - with confidence that my nation will be well taken care of.

I've always felt that Brass Rails could have done more - could have been more of a world leader - and perhaps that was my fault for not gaining our independence from Wolfish sooner....but that is the past. We're here to talk of the future of BR and of myself.

Can you help?"

Chingy looked at the old man with a smile on his face.

"I see where this is goin'. Of course we can help. I understand that no matter who takes control of Brass Rails at this moment is going to ruin the country. I'm going to get right down to it: I suggest the Emperor of Diminix, Anthony Sessa, take control of Brass Rails."

He stood up and grabbed a small stack of papers from his assistant.

"Let me guide you through a history of Diminix. We've managed to survive almost six major wars and yet still have a booming economy. We would take Brass Rails and turn it into a free state.

. . . but there is a problem. You say your generals or politicans would want it. Now as I see it, they're a threat to Diminix people IF we have control of the nation." -Chingy

I appreciate your directness sir. That is exactly why I've asked for your help - should the generals gain control - this nation would become no more than a bully - a warmongering nation. That is not good for the people.

I suggest we proceed quickly - to limit their ability to organize - I have a division of Imperial Guard which accept no orders but mine. We can dispatch them to secure the command structure of the armed forces and others disloyal to the nation. Then, your Emperor and I will make our intentions known to the people of Brass Rails.

Chingy took a long pause and then looked at him.

"There is one more thing. Might I suggest Diminix control of the nation?"

((Cheap ass return line, I know, I'm on a limited time lol))

That is acceptable. Might I also suggest that you quietly mobilize your forces off-shore...just in case there is trouble.

"That won't be a problem. We'll have a bridgade of Marines set up on the sea with a small naval and air fleet on standby. So..when should politicans come to B.R for the switch?"

are you really going to change, or this is just RP?

ooc: Really changing.

"That won't be a problem. We'll have a bridgade of Marines set up on the sea with a small naval and air fleet on standby. So..when should politicans come to B.R for the switch?"

ooc: Send them by plane now.

ic: The Emperor sat alone after the meeting. His plan was now in play - the nation would be safeguarded by friends in Diminix. It had been a difficult road since BR gained its independance from Wolfish - but it was worth the effort.

Across the country - loyal Imperial Guards rounded up Generals and other ranking officers known to be disloyal to the Crown.

ooc: Between you getting grounded and me going on vacation this has gone on long enough - I'm TGing you the password. Enjoy. Wolfish.
