Fox News Report: USA expanding!
October, 2035:
In a surprise announcement, President Diffin stated that the USA will be pursuing a policy of what he called "peaceful but massive national expansion". The USA is expected to have most of it's territories become US states within the next one or two years. The USA is also negotiating land deals with Canada and an anti-terrorist military alliance with Mexico.

OOC: I'm not trying to start a anti-American flame war or anything (though I do in fact think that the USA should expand). Calm down, It's only an RP set in a possible but very extreme dark future. Anyway, if you hate this sort of thing, why are you posting here?
OOC: Just for a record, to the topic creator: I hope a "Mexio" nation comes along and messes you up since you wouldn't be expecting it. Seriously, do you know ANY "Mexico" nations? Your region seems rather, uh, bare.

OOC: Which version of Canada? I have a really left-wing Canada called Canadian Military Rule. The basic story line is in 1958 the Prime Minister declared Canada to follow a policy of armed neutrality(think Sweden). Want that to be your neighbour to the north for this RP?

Soviet: No, this RP is set in the possible future, not an alternate one. The Canada I'm using is the Republic of Canada I. They're more on the authoritarian-left than the current Canada though. That's because their current economy and welfare net has tanked due to aging in the population and a resulting depression.

Well, Cucolo has to say it doesn't really see any harm in this, although we'd like to know if they are being treated fairly in their decision to become states.

No real harm comes to them if they say no. Although we have made much stiffer overseas-workforce laws for US corporations to lower the trade deficit and lose of industrial labor, so it would probably be smarter economically if they become states. I'd say that's a pretty fair deal. However, tensions are rising between the US and Mexico (haven't found a nation to RP that part yet), as the border is still a haven for fugitives, illegals and possible terrorists.
Well er...I can't really say I oppose this. Sounds like a smart move.
OOC: What'd you expect me to do? Declare war? :P

OOC: No, not yet :wink: . But an increase in tensions over the USA's industrial-militarization programs, the President who is now a de facto dictator and the USA's uncompromising anti-Crime and anti-Terrorist policies which have led to Martial Law being implemented.
OOC: You're probably going to have to RP any US-Mexico actions yourself. It happens that way sometimes, though I can understand you probably don't sound terribly pleased about playing with yourself.
