For those of you new Space Nations, life can be tough. If you're just emerging now all the good territory is taken, and there are lots of big people out there who can push you around. For the old guys there are lots of competitions, territory claimed by two nations, endless wars, and trade stifling. Well, we are here to propose an end to this. A Galactic Alliance, a governmental body that will help smooth out the inter-stellar pathways, and help the new guys along. Unlike the U.N. on Earth, the Galactic Alliance will not rely on the powers of it's member nations to get things done. it will have it's own army, and it will have it's own trade fleets, repair depots, and everything else. it is not here to rule you, but to help you. All nations are welcome, and we have a loose constitution to help smooth out the differences between member nations. If you have read, and accept the constitution, you're in.

Galactic Alliance Constitution

Article 1:
Each member must adhere to Alliance laws and mandates.

Article 2:
Each member maintains control over their territory, as long as it does not conflict with Article 1.

Article 3:
Any technological developments or creations from before joining the Alliance is strict property of its creator, shared only at his/her wishes.

Article 4:
Any technological developments or creations from after joining the Alliance are shared with all.

Article 5:
Any warship constructed using technology obtained from the Alliance is an Alliance ship, being under the command of all members. It shall be crewed by people from all members, and subject only to the orders of the Alliance.

Article 6:
All members must give all other members free passage and trade to their systems.

Article 7:
If a member is in trouble which he/she is not responsible for, all other members are required to pledge any support they can.

Article 8:
The Alliance may only embark on a course of action after it has been approved by 2/3 of all members. It takes 15 members to veto.

Article 9:
No one in the Alliance may cause harm to another member, unless there is just cause, upon which they will be expelled from the Alliance.

Article 10:
Any member may propose a change to the Articles, and may propose a new law at any time. These shall come into effect immediately upon the approval by 2/3 of currently active member nations at the time of approval. A veto can be mounted by 15 GA members.

I'm staying since the reasons for leaving went from ok to so stupid it sounded newbish. (thank you dumb allies.) Anyways i think we should have a way for people to join so they cant just agree to constitution and they are in but thats just my thinking seldom as it is.

Penguenia will pull out of the alliance due to the fact that, quite frankly, it's going to sh1t. We will take out half built space station with us as well. We wish the alliance best luck and presume that trade and alliances will be held after our dropping out.

Should I allow the Hecate to continue to be used by the GA? I'm not sure if I should withdraw it to replenish my own fleets or not.

I don't have an alliance for people. The one that I just mentioned is an alliance of alliances. The members are alliances (the GA could be a member, so could the ESUS, etc). There's a link to it in my sig, and there'll need to be a vote before the GA can join.

Says one who re-established the long gone human space program, known as "StarCon" for short. What does this word "noob" you and the Crimson Blades, who failed to commit his forces to an actual combat against Lands of Ages, anyway? The Ur-Quan Hierarchy does not recognize the word, as it was never used by humans, that is, before we found ourselves in this less-than-coherent Universe. We are not members of the alliance at the moment, but such a verbal attack on it is... Childish. Maybe we should reconsider our doctrines.

Unless we are completely wrong, the people who recruited the said nation to the alliance have already left the alliance. You should now direct your anger towards these new alliances where they are, as they are the reason why "Blitz-Krieg" is in the alliance. As far as we know, these nations have relocated themselves to several alliances, starting from the "StarCon" that was advertised here already.

Although we are not a member state of the alliance anymore, we must say that these unprovoked, childish and vulgar verbal attacks on it are ridiculous. Even we have learned diplomacy after our "Mission", but it seems that some aliens won't. Maybe our xenophobic brethren are right.

Ignoring the fact that he's already left, I would like to know exactly why it's impossible to have him in the GA?

You say he was expelled from the galaxy; do you claim to rule that galaxy? No, I thought not.

Others have said there was a treaty kicking him out; but I ask you, did the GA sign such a treaty? Again, no. And if you know anything about such things, you'd know that only those who sign such an agreement can be expected to obey the conditions laid out within it.

That said, look at the membership requiorments for the GA; do you see anything that would have allowed them to deny him from joining? No. To do so would have been hypocritical.
