Bonstocknian workers have been long underpaid by their bosses, and now they are taking to the streets. Many workers were fired, but concern has been sparked among the business community.
Port Yuko, Bonstock
October 1, 20??
Fred Winters was driving in his car. He was the CEO of the Bank of Bonstock, an internationally acclaimed financial firm with billions in assets. They are the primary loaners to budding IT companies and practically own the Bonstocknian colony of Maropian Coast, located in Taiwan. As he sped on down the Port Yuko Airport Speedway, the phone rang.
"Mr. Winters?"
"Yes?"
"It's CFO Watson. We have some news."
"What?"
"Workers are organizing a strike due to low wages. Firing them is not working. Also, our investments are about to go down the drain. I have info on our Quarterly Orders Report. It's way down. IT companies are expected to go bankrupt. We need a way out."
"All right. We'll pass the info to some trusted executives, and slowly sell off our stock in our company. Inform the President; she should sell off her assets too. Also, tell all or IT friends to sell off. The bubble's about to burst, and I wanna keep my beach house in Taiwan. We need to find people to keep it secret, though. Its illegal."
"Sir, should we really tell President Hu Li? Is she trustworthy? What if she rats on us? She is pretty young, you know. She may not know how to keep our secrets."
"Shes our trusted friend, so I hope. Then again, it would trash her reputation if we told her and she got involved and we were caught. Then who would get elected?"
"True. If we're caught, we will be responsible for a huge crisis, and we will be arrested, and she would be impeached, and we would suffer. But we need to save our life's work."
"All right. We'll go ahead. Just make sure we arent caught. That would cause pain for us. Get our plumbers working on it quikly. And, lets not inform the President. She'd take action, and that could expose us. Lets just hope this works." He hung up, and continued driving...
Meanwhile, the strikes continued, organized by a secret conglomerate of organizations. The old People's Council on Bonstocknian Liberation, which funded communist activities and rebellions, had commissioned a two "subordinate" but overlapping parties, to confuse Bonstocknian intelligence. The two were the Bonstocknian Bolsheviks and the National Socialist Bonstocknian Worker's Party. In one month, the country would go to hell.
