Transdynamics BWB Ultraliner Sales & Discussion [pics]

Air Alexandria, the largest airline in the Federation, introduced its first three blended-wing body, or BWB, "Ultraliners" into service today. They reportedly offer the comfort, amenities, and passenger space of the largest conventional airliners... but at a fraction of the cost, thanks to the more efficient design. Flat panel electronic screens on the ceilings of the cabin spaces give passengers in the interior a synthetic view of the skies above, thus avoiding claustrophobia. Air Alexandria plans to replace all of its long-range carriers with the Ultraliner within five years.

The luxury model can be as simple as having first-class accomodations throughout the entire aircraft or as luxurious as a flying hotel with a small casino lounge or as extravagant as installing an extremely oversized jacuzzi on one deck or as classy as the venerable Air Force One. Cost and safety are the only limiting factors.

The order for 20 standard airframes is registered and ready to begin deliveries upon payment.

Production rights, due to the overwhelming success of the Ultraliner, have gone up in cost to USD one billion plus 20% of all revenues from all sales - including domestic and internal purchases.

Given the political controversy surrounding your nation, Transdynamics Consortium is reluctant to close any deals with Lands of Ages without a trusted nation serving as guarantor for you.

For the executive on the go, Transdynamics is now offering the new Trendliner variant. The Trendliner is specially modified to carry two to four luxury vehicles (four cars, or two limousines, or two cars & one limo) in cargo spaces converted to a secure garage with retractable ramp. Why waste your time with rentals when you can take your favorite car with you? The Trendliner is also equipped with the standard luxury package in the passenger spaces.

The Trendliner starts out at USD 185 million.

Transdynamics Consortium is hosting a special competition in honor of the Ultraliner's continued service! The winner will be awarded one Trendliner in "tropical paradise" configuration - full with skylights, internal flat-screen monitors, and real tropical ferns!

The winner will be the first nation to answer the following questions correctly:

1) Who was the first woman in space?
2) Who invented the concept of the communications satellite?
3) What is the name of the Bell X-1 that first broke the sound barrier?
4) What was the name of the Soviet orbiter and what does it mean?
5) What is the name of the first Boeing jet airliner?

The contest is still open.

Transdynamics Corporation is proud to announce the introduction of the Ultraliner II after the amazing production and service run of the original. The new version still offers the comfort, amenities, and passenger space of the largest conventional airliners, but incorporates the ultra-efficient blended-wing body design and the quietest quantum nucleonic engines available. Now, the service range is only limited by thermal tolerances on the engines and crew fatigue. With automated flight controls and an integrated crew cabin, an Ultraliner II could conceivably only land for routine maintenance! The original flat panel electronic screens on the ceilings of the cabin spaces are now replaced with flexible Organic LED screens to allow air carriers to create internal spaces and vistas of their own design. Air Alexandria - the launch customer for the Ultraliner - plans to replace its entire conventional fleet with the Ultraliner II and has placed an order for 220 airframes.

We will order 35 Ultraliner II BWB's for 4.375 billion USD, we shall use this to expand our long haul fleet, and expect an additional order in the future to replace our entire international fleet, thus the only conventional aircraft will be used for domestic routes, and some inter-region travel.

The Transdynamics Consortium is an alliance of corporations based in the Autonomous City-states to improve synergies for foreign markets by leveraging our strengths and areas of expertise. Our commercial aircraft joint venture alone will do more business than that just based on the CIA and Cooke Airways orders (to say nothing of the massive Air Alexandria order), as will our quantum nucleonic engine division. Your offer is declined.

Ancient Terra Airlines
Department of Airframe Acquisitions

Ancient Terra Airlines (NSSE: ATA), citing the fantastic manner with which the BWB Ultraliner has been received by our customers, wishes to make a declaration of intent to purchase 480 new BWB Ultraliner IIs, pending confirmation of our order by the Transdynamics Corporation. Known in ATA service as the BWB Houou no Umi Ultraliner configuration (as a means of furthering aircraft recognition among our customers), the 110 aircraft purchased by ATA 3 years ago have been a driving force behind our rise to a 99+% Customer Satisfaction Rating in recent times.

Passengers and flight crew alike have complimented the Ultraliner's quiet, efficient operation, her extremely smooth flights and the ease of boarding and deplaning. These have combined to give us more on-time arrivals and departures than any other airline in Haven, as well as highly-competitive ticket prices. Most important to our success, however, have been changes made to our seating classes; these revisions were made possible by the massive internal volume available in the BWB.

The above have given ATA great confidence in the BWB Ultraliner, and we enthusiastically look forward to introducing the new Ultraliner II (tentatively labeled the BWB Kouryuu no Umi Ultraliner II) to our customers.

(ooc: Please forgive this thread resurrection; I'm looking to turn ATA into a true Nationstates entity and I figure that the first order of business would be to expand our fleet. The BWB gives me plenty of room to play around. ^^)
