Research beginning on the T-04A Light/Medium Combat Tank

Soviet Bloc

The T-04A project is a project by the Soviet Bloc to provide its armed forces with a light/medium variable tank that can perform effectively and can attack and defend against other, heavier-class tanks as well as begin replacing the aging T-72 platform. The T-04A is also being developed to provide the SB with a (hopefully) low-cost light tank capable of fairly high speed and maneuverability.

The T-04A is developed on the SB's MTC-2 chassis and using light weight steel and aluminum composites for the frame. The Soviet Bloc already has a targetting, tracking and acquisition system for it (see the ALMRS/TTAC-03 in the 'tank project- partners wanted!!!' topic) and we wish to either have a joint development with someone or have someone else supply us necessary equipment to complete our prototype. The systems we need are:

A large diesel or gas/electric hybrid engine that is capable of producing 800 horsepower at the least.

Armor that is relatively light weight but can defend against 120mm shells.

A cannon of any caliber that is reasonable for a light/medium tank with credible stopping power capable of penetrating most armor, if possible.

And an integrated turret system...

Anyone who does a joint project with the SB will recieve production rights to this tank, if a nation contributed to the project they will either recieve production rights (large contribution) or a set number of units, to be decided later. I thank anyone who does assist me in the development of this tank as it is sorely needed in our military of low-numbering, primarily heavy battle tanks (T-72's, T-80's, and T-90's).

We'll be happy to assist ^_^ This is just the kind of work we do. Just TG with any needs and our techies will divert some of their attention from their space project.
