The Resi Corporation
14-10-2003, 01:36
Living in the Residency Wing of Resi Tower was no thing of small status, and Dae Narasagi thanked the Goddess every day that she lived there instead of the slums of Resi City. As the thirty-ish catgirl slipped into her business suit for another day of acting CEO for the Resi Corporation, she couldn't help but wonder how long it would be until she could circumvent her mortal enemy Dawn Kradii and actually give the people in the slums some rights. She had always been for the little man or woman, but Kradii always seemed to block her every move, as if she took pleasure from it. Dae could've even swore that she heard Dawn whisper something along the lines of "Filthy half-breed" under her breath at their last parting, but Dae had no proof. However, such matters were of no importance at the moment, so Dae shrugged off that train of thought and kept getting ready.
Popping a Steak-and-Eggs breakfast bar (Resi Corp., $1.50) into her mouth as she walked out the door of her section of the arcology she lived in, Dae got the strangest sense of foreboding. Perhaps it was the horrible driving rain and fog that blanketed Resi City today, but she got the feeling that it was so much more. Perhaps it involved Dawn, although Dae doubted that the lowly secretary was in much of a position to be a threat to her at all. Dae stepped on the maglev that departed towards the main section of Resi Tower, and proceeded to take the seat reserved for her in the back, throwing a $20 to a homeless cat-man she allowed to take refuge on the train (much to the chagrin of the other tower inhabitants) as she passed him. The train took off, and arrived in a mere 2.5 seconds. A bell dinged, and the doors snapped open, allowing Dae to exit.
After a long walk and several elevator rides, Dae was finally in her office, overlooking the entirity of Resi City. She relaxed a bit, breathing in and telling herself that this feeling of doom was only her immagination. She reclined in her chair, and for lack of a better thing to do, began to bat around a ball of yarn that was in her top desk drawer.
That's when she received the fax.
A little light blinked on her fax machine, and its internal mechanisms began to whirr as in printed out a message. Dae nonchalantly glanced over and checked the sender information shown on the display pannel of the fax machine. When she read the words "ChristiCorp" she hissed in disgust. She really didn't trust any corporation not allied with or a part of Resi Corp., and ChristCorp was especially no exception, seeing as from what she learned in 10th grade history, Iesus Christi was a nation of shady goings-on. The message, when it was finished being written, fell down into Dae's Inbox, where she immeadiately snached it up, reading over it carefully.
What she saw was an ad for the Iesus Copter.
"No way in hell!" she hissed, "No bloody way in hell! They ripped us off cold!"
She wadded up the ad and tossed it into a trash can behind her, then jammed a button on her desk in.
"DAWN!" Dae hissed.
"Yes, Ms Narasagi," Dawn replied, keeping her anger in check, "how may I be of service?"
"Get me the highest official you can reach in Iesus Christi, NOW! Get Matthew Iesus if you can!"
"Yes, Ms Narasagi..."
((OOC: Dawn'll connect Dae to the lowest member of ChristiCorp she can find, just to spite her :P ))
