OOC: ICBM Price

13-10-2003, 17:23
On my storefront, I have been selling ICBM's for $15 million. I've recieved complaints that is godmodding, and a suggested price is $100 million. Does this seem reasonable?

How tall, and what's the radius of the ICBM? Is it pre-loaded? Type of propulsion? Material? Weight?

*Falls laughing*

A Mionuteman III only costs $7 mil

Lol Omz, i was just pointing out the very same thing :D
Yeah, 100 mil for a single ICBM is a ...bit too much and anyone claiming that 15 million USD is godmodding doesnt know jack sh*t.

The Peacekeeper, which is a new and advanced ICBM, only costs $70 ml

fine. at least like 65-70 mil is fair. or you should say that the 15 million one sucks and make a more expensive one.

The peace keeper is more than advanced. It's better :P

Indeed, quite a price divergence between the two types. But anyways, just off-hand claiming that selling any ICBM's at 15 million dollars is bs.
It depends a lot on what kind of ICBM that is.

A two stage ballistic missile with only 1 warhead shouldn't cost $70 mil.

If it is that way, maybe I should sell my B-2 for $6 billion.

No. Regular ICBM's are only $7-$8million.

It's not BS!!! Regular ICBM's sell for half the price.

But remember, the Minutesman III is old.
13-10-2003, 17:38
Still. 2x that is a decent price for a decently modern ICBM. Uber-ultra tech ones are obviously a lot more, but still.
13-10-2003, 17:39
Well, I did intend it to not be loaded.

Yeah its quite old, introduced at the damn seventies. It also raises a thought if the 7 million price for the Minuteman III is from back that time, if it is so then in order to get an accurate price the rate of inflation would need to be accounted for.

ahh. we understand now. but the n00bs who buy it don't. better mention that in the thread

No, the last n00b should be:

N00B: Well, I loaded them with my super-duper-ultra-powerful 2,000 mile kaboom range n00ks. You know, the ones I godmodded...

Ok Nianacio, that would fit in with the 70 mil price of the Peacekeeper.
So correcting my earlier statements, a 15-25 mil price for an average ICBM would be quite fitting. From twice to three times that for very advanced and accurate systems.

Kamata: Yeah, that would be more likely but the scenario i described would be funnier.

That price was for a Minuteman III. A Peacekeeper, adjusted for inflation, would be $117,262,773.72.
In case anyone points out they were put into service in the late 1980s (;)), I know. The year I entered for the Peacekeeper was 1986.
