Wait a sec....I just saw a thread with that exact plane on it, but with several replies...... :?:

I could've sworn I've seen these exact 2 in another storefront.

I know it mine and Geoforces plane i just made a diffrent storefront!

That's modern/post-modern?

If it is...

Not even the greatest of NS aerospace corporations can manage mach 6 while still being modern-future.

Yeah, the fastest aircraft in the RL world only went just over Mach 3... I would consider scramjets to be futuristic technology and probably wouldn't RP with them because of their inherent advantage over RL tech...

No only if you want and it'll cost mor but normal it goes mach 3.2

even sr-71 is faster

what teh fuck are you doing? we never agreed on a different store! close it down now or ill buy couple of starships and turn you into a galactic crater.

That is not a cramjet plane, it's not the right shape to use them... you need a very specific pattern to control air flow, otherwise it'll blow up.

He copied GeForces plane and made it future tech... he likes to do that... he likes to have airplanes on his own remote planet, to defend himself from... well, himself.

X-15 holds the record at Mach 6.7 in a flight made in the 1960's.

Cough*X-15*cough.
Cough*Mach 6.7*cough
Cough*1960's*cough

he's got a point

I've heard about mach 15 *really not sure* some plane launched from the wing of a B-52.

the x-15 reached mach 6 for all of 100 seconds

Maybe you are talking about the Hyper-X.
11-10-2003, 20:30
mach 15 is the record, I'm pretty sure...

The fastest JET record would have been broken by the Hyper-X, but it blew up because it's booster rocket exploded cuz the pegasus rocket is gay ;) Many great experiments have been trashed due to those death traps...

Nope, the SR-71 had an estimated Mach number of 3.5+ (In 1990, it set the record by crossing the US at a speed of 2,124 mph), whereas the XB-70 had a Mach number of 3.08. Two XB-70's were built, and the program was later cancelled (shortly after an incident where a wingtip vortex sucked in a NASA F-104, piloted by Joe Walker. The F-104 was hurled across the XB-70's wing, smashing one tailfin and then exploding. The Valkrie flew on for several more seconds before tumbling out of control.)

The XB-70 is the fastest BOMBER ever flown, but it is not the fastest jet aircraft.

Still, my point remains unanswered. There is not a fighter, with full weapons load, that can take mach 6. LoA's technology is far beyond modern.
11-10-2003, 20:37
changed it to mach 4 ok
11-10-2003, 20:38
Definately... this plane is most certainly future tech... you'd need some sort of fusion generator to get that fast.

Still, my point remains unanswered. There is not a fighter, with full weapons load, that can take mach 6. LoA's technology is far beyond modern.Incorrect, all of the current record holders were built using technology available as far back as the 1950's. Infact, most jets you see today, have designs dating back to the 1970's. F-15 dates back to advanced air superiority firghter studies in 1968. The F-22 dates back to the 1981 when they started the USAF Advanced Tactical Fighter competition.
11-10-2003, 20:38
changed it to mach 4 okNope. Stats say 3. something... rip the scramjets off your stats and you have a useable plane.

He's talking about a fighter jet with a sustained ability to go mach 6... impossible with modern technology.

Hmmm, oh thats right, it used two Ramjet engines. No rockets, none. And a top speed maintained for longer than a minute.

I won't even go into recent advancements in Pulse Detonation engines.

Hmmm....I've already made myself look like a fool and I don't know enough about this to involve myself in this debate anymore. I'll just stick to conventional jet engines and RL aircraft to keep myself safe.... :P

Uhm yes, a minute, right. Weapons load? None.

As enjoyable as this may be, I most go work on a midterm exam from hell. (Aerospace engineering in the third ranked AE program in the nation is fraggin insane. If you want to keep your sanity, don't do it.)
