Director DEMANDS worthy allies!
ooc:The bones of this post are that a radio-broadcast goes out from the People's Republic seeking alliances as the nation struggles against a massive coalition of invading western states. Communists (em, be they of a corrupted nature or not), Asians, the down-trodden, and fans of the hapless little-guy are asked to form ties in the hope of saving Dra-pol.
The Director (head of state, Director Kurosian) can't believe that his people's valiant resistance has earned them so little support.
..c'mon, score one for the fat kid!
Drapoel radio broadcasts crackle out, heavily accented English snapping at the disappointing outside world-
Comrades! The Drapoel People's Republic needs your friendship!
The People's Republic of Dra-pol, and ancient and proud state for long isolationist, hidden away in the north of the Korean peninsula has, since the outside world thrust itself onto her misty shores, found itself under siege. Alien ideals and morality threaten to erase the revolution.
A "crusader coalition" lead by Christian fanatics has brought the armies of six or more nations to the shores of the republic. Twice the tiny capital, DaKhiem has been destroyed by airstrikes.
When the invasions began, Dra-pol's isolated economy was in a state of implosion, and the nation's sixty-year old military hardware was insufficient to mount a defence. The port of Hamhung (ooc:Not quite coastal IRL, but it is vast in this world- the nation's largest city by far) was surrendered to Quinntonia.
The Drapoel people have been repeatedly stabbed in the back, and now fight tooth and nail to liberate their ancient homelands from foreign occupation. Hundreds of thousands have died. The Quinntonians were joined by the Raysians, who themselves took land and attempted to establish their own counter-revolutionary colony. More and more opportunists raced to Dra-pol to capitalise on our plight.
They were surprised, as Dra-pol fought back hard- Raysian Dra-pol was liberated, and a member of the coalition knocked out of the war. Quinntonia fell back behind more allies! The fight continues, Dra-pol facing ever more enemies earned by the crime of defending its ancient borders!
Heh, what, don't like being shouted at?
Damn you all! There is in NS a distressing lack of intelligent evil dictators/corrupt socialists/anti-Christian fanatics!

Intelligent evil dictators do not advertise themselves publically... oh no! Oh well, I don't feel like helping your silly little nation out. Good luck with overthrowing the occupation forces!
Your name vill alzo go on zi lizt!

You are modern tech fighting a modern tech enemy?
I am a dictator. Keep slaves hate religion and am proberly evil. If thats what your looking for sign me up.
ooc:Erm, roughly.
(To summarise as I went on too long, again- We're modern tech with economic troubles, they're late modern or so)
We're a bit behind the times.. we were WWII tech-ish until maybe last year game time when we returned to the world scene.. trying to catch up now.
The enemies (there are many!) are the likes of Quinntonia, The Promise of Joshua, The Belamore Family, Happy Baseball Fans, with Bonstock threatening to send troops too.
They're modern/near-future tech. Raysia was part of the coalition too- they used a few drones and so forth, but their position was on the verge of being over-run and they have retreated (woo and so on).

Alright, I'll throw together a Expeditionary force
Essentially Dra-pol is in a very difficult position in a war against a coalition. Director Kurosian needs allies to give him political weight (at the moment every effort he makes is out-done by the introduction of a new ally by the enemy)
It's a serious line of RPs, so I'm not asking for someone to turn up and say "Here's a thousand F-16s, the numbers are more even now" y'know?
We're more or less a hard-line Maoist state, so anyone wishing to get involved in the lengthy RP would have to accept that we're ..a sham communism, and would have to be willing to assist such a state.
Alvarezistan will aid Dra-Pol in its fight against the crusaders with both arms and humanitarian aid. We are prepared to offer you several hundred-thousand old model AKM assault rifles we no longer have use for, as well as military issue personal body armor. To ease the suffering of the Dra-Polian (?) people, a food drop has been prepared over major cities amounting to several thousand tons. Let us know if you're interested in our aid, and we can work out the details.
"Alvarezistan, comrades, such assistance would be a great aid to us! Our collectives are struggling to feed the armies, and people go hungry as young farmers takes up arms. Rifles are needed as the people's army swells beyond previous proportions.
"There are few cities in Dra-pol- the population is rural, with three cities. Pyongyang on the west is a military base, DaKhiem, the capital, was destroyed by Raysian and Quinntonian bombers, and Hamhung on the east is mainly occupied by Quinntonian forces."
-Secretary Hotan.
(I'll get the link to the thread in a moment for those interested.)
I will gladly get involved to help a nation with similar ideals in distress. We're a socialist nation, running on the fringe of Menshevic (spelling?) Communism.
The current thread in which the war rages: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=67430&highlight=
There's a lot, so I don't expect everyone to read every post (though..feel free), but it'd be best if anyone who's really interested in getting involved reads up a bit.
For a bit of history, this is Dra-pol's first thread:
http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53072&highlight=
In which we first meet the Quinntonians. It degenerated into a bit of a mess, but the character of the nation is explained on the first page.
Oh, and the nation is Dra-pol, the language/people are Drapoel :)

We will drop 44 tons of wheat and grain products onto your cities, and send 1,500 men to aid in armed conflict. They will be under control of your commanders, but we would appreciate getting most of them back. Theu are moderately armed/equipped, and are trained in close combat, sniping, parachuting, marine warfare, guerrilla warfare, history, politics, and philosophy.
ooc:Since news reports will have been reaching the world for some time, I think I can explain ooc..
Dra-pol is in North Korea..and the enemy have (slightly contested) air superiority over most of the nation. Transport can be difficult. Further, one of the reasons that the less advanced Drapoel forces have held out so long is the terrain and lack of infrastructure.
The nation is essentially a big forest on a mountain range. Roads outside of Hamhung are trails, and moving our small armoured force has been slow, but it makes enemy incursion even more difficult, and allows us to hide small forces under the canopy/in valleys and so on.
Oh, and casualties in the war so far are seven figures...

Oh, well, since you put it that way, how about an Airmoble Division instead of an armored division?

ooc:Best have a look at the thread, see how things are developing, and figure out what would be wisest. More and more reinforcements are being leveled against Dra-pol, and the Director is being forced simply to call up more and more young men and women.
(I hope I can't really be accused of number-crunching, considering the pages of tricks, ploys, and manouvering prior to the current engagements. There's just no other realistic option for us than human-wave attacks on Hamhung, and guerrilla ambushes everywhere else)

Here, just take em. Airmobile makes a great gurrilia weapon, and I'm sure you can figure out some way to use it.
We have decided to make an airdrop over Dra-Pol controled soil consisting of 60,000 AK-47s with several tons of ammunition, and a handful (50 or so) old BTR-60PB2 armored personnel carriers. We've modified them slightly, so their tires are more puncture resistant, armor less vulnerable to small arms fire, and fuel tanks less easily shot out. (http://www.sovietarmy.com/vehicles/btr-60pb.html) Situations are.. precarious at home, and we can't perform yet another military intervention at this time. These should serve to supplement your infantry well, given the rather low quality rifles they're using.

The people's socialist Commonwealth of Beth Gellert notes that Alvarezistan's operation appears risky, in light of Quinntonian reports suggesting their intention to engage any none-allied aircraft over Dra-pol. It does not appear that the airforce of Dra-pol is able to contest its own airspace any longer.
Of course, attacks by members of the coalition, on foreign aircraft operating over Dra-pol's airspace in Dra-pol's interests, at Dra-pol's request would probably not be well received in The Commonwealth, and may result in a more serious challenge to coalition air-superiority..
