M-16??!!! Terrible weapon and round...
Try some the old Springfield issue weapons:

50 years old, but still years ahead in effectiveness in the hands of a trained rifleman.... Something the US military is producing in precious few numbers nowadays...

If it's not broken, don't fix it!!!

As I said, true Riflemen are a precious comodity on the battely field, and the US army really hasnt produced any in any significant numbers in quite some time....

And if you are a True Rifleman, you need a True RIFLE... not a pissy overgrown .22 squirrel gun that jams at the drop of a hat...

Anyone using the M14 or M16 needs to wake up...

The M14 is a good weapon, robust and hardcore.

It was based on the old WW2 rifles for gods sake. And those were reliable.

The M16 is still pretty crappy though.

The M16 is horrible...
A plastic gun!!!
What is that??!!!

IF you have to use something from the M16 series because of US economic support, the M4, or even MP5 make great submachine guns (MP5 is realyl an auto pistol).

You can have a division of fully armored infantry with M-16's, and I get a company of marine snipers with M-22's you will be utterly decimated..

And this is why I use FN-FALs. It's got a powerful round, a reliable rifle, and you almost have to be trying to break it before it will fail.

OOC M-16 is alright 5.56mm/.223 is a good Hunting round I kill a deer no problem almost no Movement in the gun.
the first m-16 would jam alot , then they modified it.
My M-16 was easy to carry, shoot, take apart put back together. full auto had tendensy to waste a lot of ammo not very accurate., but single shot, like shooting my old pump .22 very easy.
The spring in the stock makes for no recoil.
Now the M-60 was another story I lugged that thing around under wire through water, very bulky AAHH!!!.. im glad there changing that

Balistic plastic is Great made by Mattel very durable

Not good in hand to hand though. Hit someone and it will break.

The AK series is the easiest on earth though. Just pull back the handle thingy and wipe inside. Even my sister could fire it

(i'm a bit confused on your mokery of the M14, after all it's a M1 garand, rechambered to 7.62mm NATO, with select fire and a magazine system added, a nice rifle but no patch on the FN FAL/ L1 SLR or the G3).

Actually the M16/ AR15 family has soem nice features, esspecially the ability to fire ridiculous rounds (ie .458 SOCOM and .50AE) merely by replacing the upper receiver and barrel asembly (the AR15 actually has a not too bad lower receiver).

Lets face it the M4 sucks big time, not enough range to be a proper rifle yet too big and with a round with too high a velocity for make a decent SMG (if you must have a 5.56mm SMG go for the HK 51).

The MP5 has nothing to do with the M16 family and uses a totally different system, it is a full sized SMG (you are perhaps thinking of the MP5K, or the new MP7).

Anyway i don't use the M16 family i use a full fixed and upgraded SA80 based weapon (based on Stoner's follow up to the AR15, the AR18), that uses the ultimate infantry round: 6.25x43mm, offering 7.62mm power with 5.56mm recoil, size and round weight.
