Cynn Chronicles

ooc: Please don't be mad if this is the wrong kind of post, but it is nation-based role playing, it just isn't tied to the nationstates nations.

Rules:
Here's the general setting I was thinking of: the planet is not earth, but there are people on it who are very much like us (not for any particular reason). Each author would get one country of their own, which would take up most of the continent they are on. There would be numerouse third-world counries filling in the spaces.

As far as technology goes, each country would have there own special area, in which they are ahead of our modern standards; but in other areas, they would be behind.

example techs:
mechanics/robotics
(war machines, autonomus factories)
electricity manipulation
(lightning guns, practically free energy)
gravity manipulation
(antigrav, gravity guns)
medical science
(clinical immortality, genetically improved soldiers)

The story would be mostly made up of them warring with eachother. The countries should hate eachother due to a long history of warefare. The movement for peace has been growing, and the story begins with the formation of a U.N.-like council.

If you decide to join, try not to make your country too peacefull. It could get boring. All newcomers should post an introduction like this:

---Name: Veeah
---Ruler: Paul Nichitez
---Ambassator: William Sithil
---Technology:
gravity manipulation:
Veeans have discovered a complex graviton theory, in which different results of the same equasions lead to explenations for inertia, centripetal force, the so-called 'dark matter', magnets, and of course normal gravity. By spinning a specially designed disk at high speeds, their scientists can actually interrupt the flow of gravity, causing an antigrav effect. There special weapon in war is the gravity gun, which creates a powerfull antigrav effect that propells there bullets. The technology has also been incorperated into their society, pushing forward their industry, and eliminating the need for escelators.
---Natural Resources: Veeah has large amounts of iron, which helped them create their theory that connected magnetism with gravity, and continues to help them with indusry. The landscape is naturally rainforest, but that is rapidly changing.
---Religion: The majority of the population trusts in standard science and an all knowing god that keeps the laws of physics from falling into chaos; however, there is a sect that beleive that those laws DO waver, just not when scientists are looking. They believe that the human mind can effect gravity.
---History: Veeah has always been a place of dictators. A few centuries ago, there were two major Emporors, who each ruled about a dozen kings. Veeah was finally united when one of these dictators won; however, there was a long series of assasinations after that. The assasinations got fewer and fewer, until finally they seemed to come to a stop. The Nichitez family seems to have become the undisputed Royal Line. There last name means Rulers of Kings.
---Politics/Diplomacy:Monarchy; the ruling family tries to pretend a certain benevolence, by having public elections and such for lower powers, but most of it is rigged, and all government officials are brainwashed. Citizens are harshly prejudus against other races. The governments activities reflect this opinion.
---Economy:they are mostly self-sufficient, but they do sell iron and rainforest wood.

If enough people are interested (3 or more) I'll post the beginning of the story.

{Cynn Association of Imminent Nations (C.A.I.N.) Headquarters, planet Cynn, Lucere system, Andromeda galaxy.}

*The building is located on a windy desert island that has, so far, not been claimed by any government. Each of the major world powers has grudgingly sent a representative to the small, yet elagantly furnished CAIN headquarters; mostly, they have only done so to prevent any other countries from conspiring behind their backs. The chosen manner of transportation is a boat made devoid of any technologies that might be considered sensitive; the hull is a simple metal alloy, the propulsion a sail combined with a primitive engine that runs on coal. Communication for the the CAIN is a simple radio, with no encryption and only one channel. In the conference hall, the ambassadors have a general look of suspicion about them as they are seated.*

Administrator: I'm glad to see you all here. As you know, it took a lot of trouble to arrange this meet; let's try to make it worthwhile. All of your countries have had wars with eachother in your past. Your scientists can't even explain eachother's technologies. Your peoples dislike eachother. These differences won't be worked out quickly; but the founders of CAIN beleive that they can be worked out much more easily if you would talk to eachother. Our political ideas may be in the minority right now, but...

William Sithil (ambassador of Veeah): We didn't come here for a lecture on cooperation.

Administrator: Fine; i'll get right to the point. But no more interrupting me. I have the floor. Now... The first last, and only order of business for this, the first meeting of the CAIN, is an open discussion. We are here to allow an easy channel of communication. (sigh.) We can't force peace opon the world, but at least we can allow an alternetive to war. If you want something from another country, you can now ask for it. If they refuse to bargain, well, then you must (I suppose) attack. Oh, and if you want to discuss any battles you are currently engaged in...

{Emporer's conference room, Floating Palace, Nux city (capital of Veeah)}

Paul Nichitez, Emporer of Veeah: Greetings, General. How is Project Numina coming along?

General Peller: Slowly. It's more difficult than you think, Paul.

Paul: We made the floating palace. What is so difficult about an airship? The birds can fly! Why can't we? Do you have any idea how strong our army could be, with the only flying navy?

General Peller: It's a matter of steering, now. The palace is tied down by cables, so that it doesn't float away. You know that. The airships won't have that convinience. And we are also having some trouble with the gravity guns that you wanted us to mount on it. The two gyroscopic fields interfere with eachother.

Paul: Maybe that's a good thing. See if you can make an arrangement that steers the ship towards what we aim at.

General Peller: It could work. I'll make sure our engineers hear about it.

Paul: Dismissed.

*The Veeans would view our airplane propellers as counter-intuitive. How could something so much smaller than the airplane lift it, withought use of gravity manipulation technologies?*
