Galdanian tanks and trucks patrolled throughout Southern Zefyrz, still in Galdanian Hands. They were not looking for Zefyeren seperatists, but for hungry children. They stopped at many town and village centres not yet controlled by the Zefyeren seperatists. Most of the Zefyrz population of the south supports Galdania, and Premier Bolozof Velasgo hopes that by providing food to the people of Zefyrz's southern plains, he can keep the area loyal to Galdania.

Most of the population of southern Zefyrz is made up of ethnic Galdanians, while the north, across the river Streinz and the small Koskovich mountain range, is primarily Zefyerens, thought to be descendants of French or Scandanavian settlers hundreds of years ago.

Premier Velasgo has stated that the military prescence in Zefyrz is only to protect humanitarian aid shipments, and that they will only fire if the Zefyeren seperatists attack aid convoys or the Zefyeren populace.

26 men crept along the road under the light of a full moon. They carried an assortment of rifles and pistols, with some only having sharped stakes as weapons. They were Unit III of Zefyeren Militia IX.

They approached a checkpoint, though the commander thought that it was rather rather odd that so many men were stationed there. He soon found out why.

The soldiers still loyal to Galdania fired at the Militia, inflicting grevious losses in seconds. A machine gun was mounted on top of a pile of wooden crates. The commander and a handful of his men leapt into the ditch by the road, avoiding the bullets whizzing above their heads. The commander took a grenade from his leather jacket and hurled it at the Galdanian machine gun. He heard the explosion and screams from the Galdanians.

The commander ordered his men to rush forward, but only half of the ones still alive actually followed him out of the ditch. They were boys, scared of dying so young. So they stayed in the ditch, waiting to be captured rather than die.

The commander was hit in the leg a metre from the ditch and rolled back into it. A moment later, the bodies of his men cascaded over the ditch, blow apart by a terrible BOOM.

One of the boys tied his underwear to his rifle and waved it out of the ditch. They could hear a rumbling. It got louder and louder, until a gigantic Galdanian tank appeared before them. A man atop the mechanical beast yelled at them in Galdanian. He had a machine gun pointed at them. The Zefyerens raised their hands and dropped their weapons. The commander was the only one who didn't rise. His leg was entirely immobile. He put his hands behind his head.

As the boy who had used his underwear as a white flag stood to surrender, his pants dropped to the ground. Together, the Zefyerens and Galdanians laughed.
