It's more figurative than anything else. It's all RPed on the forums. You don't actually loose your country. Usually the reasons for war are better than this though.

Yes he did try to use diplomacy, the Iraqis did not comply. And the terrorists that killed so many people in the WTC would not leave unpunished.
