The fuselage was almost complete, all that remained was attaching the tail portion. At the same time, steaming across the country onboard an armored train, the first prototype for its new engine was on its way.

The chief designer, Rudolfo Davinche was hard at work in the wind tunnel, working with smaller models of the plane itself. It would be the first jet powered manned combat aircraft in use by the Regia Aeronautica. Even though it was an incredible innovation it would only be a stepping stone to a rich future of airplane development, and that could perhaps decide the fate of this war.
