Blood Storm (Open RP)

06-10-2003, 21:26
The FCN Puddle, a huge cargo ship that looked more like a oil tanker than a Cargo Ship, sailed through the stormy waters off of Rosport. It was a nasty day, windy, rainy, and cold.

Any of those on deck were very wet, and so cold their finger were literally blue. They wandered about on deck, pointing their torches about. One or two uniformed guards carrying rifles wandered by, obviously in a hurry to get inside again.

The wind howled. Rotors could be heard, then dissapeared. The they got louder. The Puddle was no armed, merely a transport ship. Not even radar. Rotors came again. The went. Several of the men on deck ( Marines ) glanced upwards. They were all armed, yet didnt show it.

The, 2 Helicopter appeared, SH-60 Seahawks, and swung round the aft of the ship. The marines and armed guards looked upwards, gazing at the helicopters. They didnt even think to shoot them. Unbeknown to them, dark figures in Battle Gear snuck up behind them with knifes.

The figures sliced their necks, killing them instantly. All the lights on deck went out one by one. And the helicopter came to a stand still over the brige and deck. Ropes flew out, and men in battle gear roped down. Several Marines ran onto the deck, only to get cut down seconds later by silenced machine gun fire.

The soldiers already on deck took the bridge silently. They snuck up on marines, and knifed them, or shot them with silenced weapons. The ship was taken quickly, and the helo's disappeared in the storm.

Yet no-one in the holds knew a thing. The first they knew was when the water tight doors blew open, and figures entered. Some surrendered, some shot back, only to get ripped to pieces by gunfire. No-one stood afterwards. Blood ran along the floor.

In next door holds, the same was happening. A total of 36 soldiers were on the ship, more to come on helicopters. The last hold was left, the most heavily guarded. The soldiers took it quickly. Their commander dashed through. He stood in awe. A hooded soldier stood near.

"What is the Colonel?"

"This, my friend, it the F-32 Python."

A distance away the Drakonian Destroyer IDS Rapier sliced through the water on it's way to the far off Drakonian Territory of Drako Sava. On the bridge an officer glanced from the Sonar to Radar displays before checking the Transponder read-outs.

"That's odd," he mumbled to himself. "Don't usually see helicopters out this far in this kind of weather." He check all three displays again. "Captain," he called informing the ships captain of the situation.

The Captain, a tall dark ebony skinned man who was of an impressive build, frowned. "Better call them and see if anythings wrong," he ordered to the Communication's Officer.

Within seconds the Communication's Officer was busy. "FCN Puddle, FCN Puddle," he called over the ship communication's systems. "This is IDS Rapier. Come in. Repeat, FCN Puddle, this is IDS Rapier. Come in."

And then, they waited.

We're currently busy in another conflict, however we'll send ships ans soon as possible.

"Damn that radio" the Commander said. "Turn it off!!"

"Dah, Sir."

*Radio goes off*

"And change course. Head to International Waters, and steam about a bit."

"Yes Sir. What about the plane?

"We will keep it for now."

The Communication's Officer and Captain look at each other questioningly. "What was that," the Officer asks.

The only response the Captain can give is. "I don't know, but I don't like it." He frowns looking out over the storm tossed waters. "Keep trying to get through."

The Communications Channel crackles to life again. "FCN Puddle, FCN Puddle, this is IDS Rapier. Please, respond. Repeat, FCN Puddle, this is IDS Rapier. Please, respond!"

He walks to the Operations Station. "Is there anyone elso out there," he asks the Officer standing there.

"Possible, Harmonan Patrol Vessel," the Operations Officer responds. "No one else that I can detect."

Again, the Captain looks out over the ocean. "Contact, them and see if they know what's going on, and get me the Freedom Country Naval Command see if they know why that ship wouldn't be responding to communications."

The Captain paced across the bridge to the Helm Station. "Move us in closer," he ordered to the Helm Officer. "I want to see if we can see anything wrong on that ship."

"HOW COME I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THIS, AND THE DAMN DRAKONIANS DID BEFORE US!!!!"

"Sir, because they were the first to try and hail them!!!"

"WELL GET A BATTLE GROUP OVER THERE, AND STAND BY. That was a VERY important piece of technology on that."

"Yes, sir!!"

The Destroyer slipped in closer to the frieghter, silently sliding through the raging waters. Nothing looked out of the ordinary on the frieghter, but even at such a close distance the rain obscured the vision of those looking at the Freedom Country ship.

On the bridge, there was still no word from the larger ship. "Sir," the Communication's Officer reported. "Freedom Country Naval Command, reports they have no idea why there would be no response to our hails."

The Captain frowned look out at the nearby frieghter. The deck was empty and the ship quiet. Almost too quiet and too empty. If not for the storm, the Captain would have boarded the vessel by now, still he hesitated. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and he got the fealing of something being wrong, horribly wrong.

"Continue trying to get through," he ordered still standing at the front of the bridge. "And send up a flare over their hull. See if that get their attention."

In a second, there was a flash and the sizzle of the flare. It lance up and over the hull of the freighter shedding an eerie red glow over the both vessels.

"I don't like this," the Captain said to himself. "I don't like this at all."
08-10-2003, 19:26
OOC: THIS ISNT AN ACT OF WAR. THESE GUYS ARE FRIGHTENED TERRORISTS. I will ignore any declerations of war.

IC: The flare aerted the Commander, he glanced up from his map in the blacked out bridge, and saw the other ship through his NVG's.

"Damn the, infidels. Get the LAW!!!!"

"Yes, sir."

Later, 2 men ran out onto the top of the crew quarters, and set up their FC-7452 Armor Piercing Rocket launcher. They had 5 rockets.

On the bridge, a .50 cal HMG was set up, and pointed at the other ship.

"FIRE" yelled the commander. "At best, get them away!!!"

The first rocket ripped off from it launcher, and whizzed towards the other ship. The .50 cal fired on the bridge, and bullets flew from AK's them men were carrying.

750 feet below the two ships, sonarman 1st class Robert Jennings jumped in surprise. "Captain," he shouted, "you'd better come take a look at this."
"What's up?"
"I just picked up sounds of surface combat, directly above us, sounds like a rocket launch and small arms fire."
The Captain quickly moved into the middle of the command center. "Navigation, takes us 100 yards forward and come to periscope depth. I want a look at whats happening up there.

The bridge erupted in chaos as the attack came suddenly. The first of the missiles slammed the hull of the Destroyer, exploding against the ship. Chunks of metal armor and bulkheads, slipped into the sea.

"What the hell! Get us clear of them," the Captain ordered. "And give us cover fire with the 7-6ers." The sound of the Twin-Barrelles 7.62mm Machine Guns could be heard shortly after the Captain's order as they fired back at their attackers.

The Rapier pulled forward and clear of the freighter, pushing ahead to escape the sudden attack. Smoke filled the air around the right side of the Destroyer where it had been hit, the rain and ocean water quenching the flames of destruction.

"Contact, Freedom Country Naval Command and the Imperial Drakonian Naval Command and inform them of the situation," the Captain commanded angrily. "And then bring us around and hold position near the Puddle, but keep us clear of their fire." The Communication's Officer went to work. "Oh and you can stop trying to hail that cursed friehgter, I think we just got our response."

OOC: I wasn't declaring war. The Rapier was investigating the situation, offering aid. The flare was merely: A) to get the attention of anyone on the frieghter and B) to shed enough light on the freighter to get a better view of it. See above for picture of the Rapier.
08-10-2003, 20:18
The 7.62 rounds pinged off the bridge, and the terrorists ducked behind the window.

"KEEP SHOOTING!!!"

The Missile Launcher, having reloaded, fired at the leaving ship once more.

We will try and raid the ship as soon as the weather clears, and a raid is possible.

The Captain of the Beeblebrox peers through his periscope at the strange events taking place on the surface.
"Can't ID the ships, but it looks like some freighter is unloading all hell on a destroyer up there. The tin can dirver is gonna be embarrassed as hell if he makes it through this alive."
The Sonarman speaks up, "Captain, I've identified the destroyer, she's Drakonian, the Rapier. Intelligence says she's been on patrol here, must've got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time."
"Talk about bad luck, can you tell me anything about the freighter?"
"Negative sir, we don't have a database of freighters, I can tell you her make, but that won't tell us much."
"Keep monitoring the situation, we don't want to get involved . . . yet."

The Rapier slipped just out of range as the second missiles slammed into it's hull. The was a blinding flash and then another gaping hole was visible in the hull of the warship. The Destroyer arced around moving again to a parallel course with the frieghter, carefully staying out of weapons range.

The Captain was not happy and the string of language that came from his mouth made that quite apparent to those on the bridge of the Destroyer. "Those bloody...." He stopped mid-sentence. "Do we have any idea who those suicidal idoits, who happen to be shooting at my ship, are," he roared to an unfortunate bridge officer.

"No, sir," the poor officer responded sheepishly.

"Well then, it's time we find out," the Captain continued to rage. "Get me the Marine Captain, on the double!"

"Y-Yes, sir," the officer rushed off to follow the order.

"We're boarding that ship," the Captain informed the bridge staff, finally starting to cool down. "Inform Freedom Country Naval Command."

Captain: "Smart move on their part, drop back and think about how to deal with this."

Executive Off: "Sir, what are we going to do about this?"

Captain: We're going to stay here, undetected, and watch, however, just as a precaution, load tubes 1-4 with Mk-50's. Target two at each ship, but don't flood tubes or open the outer doors yet."

The three small black dingys shot forward in the water. Heavy rain and raging waters hide their approach, just as it threw them wildly around. They, the Imperial Drakonian Naval Marines of the Destroyer Rapier would shortly be within range to begun boarding operations of the frieghter.

The Captain had made sure the Freedom Country Naval Command had been informed that he could wait no longer. Action had to be taken, he had been fired on. He had also made sure they knew the frieghter would be escorted to Freedom Countries nearest port and turned over to their authorities.

Everything was in place.

The Sonar operator on the Beeblebrox notices three new contacts on his screen. "Sir," he announces, "I have what looks like three outboard motors outbound from the destroyer, heading toward the freighter."
"Up periscope, I want to take a look at this."
The periscope rises out of the inky, black water, just as one of the rafts goes by, narrowly missing it. "Holy sh--! Down Periscope!" The entire sub crew is intstantly alert. "Do you think they saw us?"
"I don't know sir, but I have to say I'd rather be seen by the destroyer than the freighter, at least we know it's crewed by Drakonians."
"True, we have no idea who might be on that freighter, or what they'd do if they found a sub watching them."

The sub raises it's radio antenna and begins monitoring a wide bandwidth to see if any radio message is sent from the raft to the destroyer.

Leading the small forces of Imperial Drakonian Naval Marines was Commander John Cerberus. He called into his radio. "On the move, Rapier," he informed the Captain of the Destroyer. "We should be able to gain control of the ship and turn it back to Freedom Country, shortly."

On board the bridge of the Rapier the information was quickly passed between the officers.

"Freedom Country has given us a Ceace and Dissist," the Officer informed the ship's Captain handing him the message from FC Naval Command.

"We'll continue anyway," the Captain ordered. "Inform them we don't care about any Sensitive Military Technology. The ship will be turned over to their people as soon as it's secured. We're out here to maintain order on the high seas and that what we're going to do. Besides, I'm not pulling out my men after there are already in."

The Captain paced over to the Ship's Operations Station. "Give we a sweep of the area. Active Sensors," he commanded. "And I want an ETA on the Freedom Country fleet. The less time I have to babysit that frieghter the better."

The Drakonian Destroyer suddenly went active on it's sensors making a surprising discovery. "Sir," the Operation's Officer reported. "We've lit up a Submarine."

"What," the Captain responded shocked. "Can you identify it?"

"Trying to, Sir." The officer worked busily to identify the Submarine, they had just discovered.

Mike made his way to the single occupancy transport that would take him to the FCN Puddle. As the black cylinder shot into the night, Mike closed his eyes for a five minute power nap. His transport was amphibious, travelling first through water then through the air at frightening speed so as to remain completely hidden to any radar or other detection device.

Bypassing both the destroyer and the subs completely, Mike's transport flattened itself against the side of the FCN Puddle so as to appear a part of the freighter itself. As the airtight seal was complete, structural lasers cut a man sized hole into the hull of the freighter.

Adjusting his eyes to the light, Mike tightened the straps on his fatigues and honed his only weapon, a small combat knife, while waiting for the go signal from the mole.

The Captain watched the flashes of gunfire coming from the frieghter and then the meeting flashes from the small outboard Marine boats. This was quickly getting out of hand.

"Sir," the Communication's Officer spoke up. "The comm. channels are flooding with chatter. I've got FCHQ yelling away on one channel and that submarine on other."

"Ignore FCHQ," the Captain stated as he turned. "We've made our statement to them." He walked to the Communication's Station. "Bring up the message from the sub."

The message from the Squornshelous Submarine appeared and the Captain quickly scanned it. "Well." He read through it again. "At least, that's good news. Send a response."

The Captain thought for a second. "Squornshelous Naval Ship Zaphod Beeblebrox, this is Imperial Drakonian Ship Rapier.

"We recieve and confirm your message. We also our on peace time operational patrol. Standing Naval Orders, state that 'Drakonian Vessel are not to initiate hostile action against any ship not designated as an enemy vessel.' So you have nothing to fear.

"As I am sure you know, Drakonia also takes a very aggressive stance toward international terrorism, and as I am also sure you know, we are currently conducting an operation to bring this vessel back under the control of it's owner, the government of Freedom Country. We are willing to cooperate peacefully. Rapier, out."

There was a few second of silence and then the Communication's Officer responded. "Message send."

The Captain looked back out to sea. "Good, now will someone get me a report of the status of those Marines."

OOC: The Rapier hasn't detect the Britmattia aircraft or the other submarine, yet.

Lieutenant Alexi Bader
"Command, this is Red Dog Lead, we're currently at about angels 10 above the incident, can't see shit in this weather though. Requestin permission to do a lo-fly..?"
"Red Dog Lead, you have permission to do a lo-fly, you are not weapons free however, if fired upon break off and request further instructions."
"Roger that Command."
...
"Red Dog Lead to Red Dog 2, you stick on my wing, everyone else, keep orbiting."
"Roger that Lead."
"Uh Alexi, bear in mind we've only got about an other 80 minutes worth of fuel before we're bingo."
"Acknowledged Red Dog 3, none the less.. Red Dog 2 let's go."
...
"Shit."
"That's a rog-o on that RD2, Command are you linking from my cameras?"
"Affirmative RD Lead, but picture quality is poor, can you tell us what you're seeing?"
"The Rapier's been hit with something, I can't tell what, but there's visible damage. Doesn't appear to be critical..crap! There's zodiacs in the water and the freighter has uhh, looks like HMGs firing on them? I don't know what the hell is going on down he, FUCK!"
"RD Lead? RD Lead? What's going on RD Lead?"
"Command, someone on the freighter just noticed me and popped a stinger off, little bastard only just missed too. ROE remains the same?"
"That's a roger for now RD Lead, resume orbit, we're bumping this upstairs."
"Roger that command. RD Lead out."
...
RBMilCom
"And that's the text of the report Sire. Your recommendations?"
"Get the Drakonians on the wire, I want to know what the fuck is going on."
"Sire. and the ROE?"
"Well...no. The 1st are not to come into firing range again for now, and get the rest of them airborne in a rotation as the A flight come in. However, if whoever's on that freighter connects, they are weapons-free, no one's going to lob missiles at *my* bloody airforce."
"Sire."

OOC Not declaring war! But these guys are *very* militaristic and so far for them not sinking the freighter is being lax.

"Keep pestering the idiots on the Rapier to not board the ship. Hope the terrorists hold them off."

"Well, they seem well equipped."

"Good. They will probably use the .50 cals aswell. Maybe they will use the side mounted rockets."

"Probably. Well, military command suggests we bomb the fuck out the ship, and sink the Rapier and make it look like an accident."

"With what? The MA-10's?"

"Yes, sir. Will I give them the all clear?"

"Yes, you do that."

Both saluted, and the Advisor left with his orders.

*The Puddle*

"Keep firing!!!! We make sink some!!!"

"Sir, we have found side mounted unguided rockets, and a M134 minigun on the ships side!!!"

"USE THEM!!!! And tell the soldiers to ready the boats, and C4. Set charges on all entrances. No-one gets in or out!!"

"Roger, will do"

Several rockets sream at the small boats, and a chain gun opens up in small bursts. The .50 cal with more ammo fires once more.

*FCAF Borxburgh*

3 MA-10's taxi in a line to the main runway. Each has lights on, and are heavily armed. There is nothing about but them, and the circling MA-3 AWAC's plane.

"This is Gold Lead. Permission to take off and engage mission plan."

"Roger, you are cleared. Take off and complete mission."

"Roger, we are hot."

The 3 MA-10's take off one after the other down the runway, circle once and head in V formation to the ships.

Two of the MA-10's area remd with 1,000 pound bombs and MAM-139 Pounder anti-ship missiles. The other is loaded with Air to Air missiles.

OOC: My plan, as you may have seen, is to sink the ship containing the aircraft and chemicals. I also plan to take out the Rapier and any small boats. These planes are stealth, so they cant be seen. They will fly high, and launch from 50 Miles away, hopefully out of sight.

All ships will be hit by Harpoons. Any planes will be shot out the sky by the ALRAAM's (200km+ range), and nobody will know a thing.

"Sir there is a fierce battle on board the freither. I suggest we go to plan b."
"Do it."

The Secion moved so it was 5 metres away from the freigther and suddnely surfaced. As soon as it was clear on the water the hatch on the tower oppeened up

o.o.c. the tower is 10 meters tall when the subs is surfaced. How tall is the frieghter on the water?
24-10-2003, 20:42
OOC: About 30 metres. I wouldnt do that, if you knew what was coming on the MA-10's.

IC:

The MA-10's close to within 100 miles of the ships.

"Blue Dog Lead, this is Newt 02, you've got got 3 airborne inbound contacts, their IFF is not tagging them as friendlies."
"Uhhh, any chance of anything more? We've got possible Drakonian friendlies in the area..I don't really wanna piss off and leave them for no reason."
"Well...oh. Their IFF beacons are broadcasting in clear, they're Freedom Country airscouts."
"Weird, they're a long way from home. Any chance the freighter might be theirs?"

"Freedom Country aircraft, this is RBAF Coastal Command, did you recieve our last transmission, over?"

"BD Lead, they're still approaching, we're projecting them as MA-10s from their approach speed/height...We have no idea of intentions at present and they're not responding to radio hails."
"Crap. Can we have a ROE update please Command?"
"Relaying now BD"
...
"Yes. Tell them to turn the fuck around now. No one's got any hostile warships out there so they're not achieving spit. Is that flight from 6th Squadron there yet?"
"They're still inbound Sire, there was a small accident at their airbase delaying them."
His Most Glorious Militaristic Majesty grunted. "How about the Drakonians? Any word yet?"
"No sire."
"Alright, broadcast the vector of the inbound Freedomers in clear. Are those A-10s homeward bound yet?"
"Yes sire, they're pulling out now."

o.o.c. thing is I don't.....I was planning on having my guys cut through the hull and steal the plane...Whoopsie this is suposed to be Celack psotuing....

i.c. A spec-ops team climbs out of the subs and walks up against the hull of the freighter. They take out a welder and open a hole in the side fo the freighter.

OOC: Erm, the MA-10's are steal, especially to A-10's.

What about the missiles.

IC:

Gregory Mikhailov leaned on the freighters wall. He smoked, and cleaned his weapon. Suddenly, the wall behind him lurched. He looked right, to see sparks flying from the wall further down. He was confused, and frightened. He picked up his weapon, and emptied a mag into the wall.

The MA-10's moved ever nearer, to within firing distance of the ships. The all launched their missiles from 50km away, one missile launched at the Rapier. 1 was even launched at the sub.

All the missiles streamed in, and the MA-10's turned, still unseen (they are stealth, see?)

OOC The MA10 im assuming is some sort of maritime version of the a10, and as such is pretty much unstealthable. Unless you want to declare it's some sort of invisible super plane which is not only capable of all weather attack but invulnerable too? Real stealth aircraft CAN NOT fly in the conditions we're describing. You're ignoring the fact that the Destroyer is sure as shit running ever radar it's got, we've got no less than 12 aircraft orbiting as well as radar stations on land, all concentrating in the area.
If it's not a maritime version of the A10, what is it before we go further?

Want a pic?

Here:

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/ucav-lm2.jpg

The f-22 and F-35 can fly in this type of weather. Trust me. It is not invisible, just stealth. And remember, they are HIGH, above the clouds and any weather, which would be low for the storm.

So, I am right.
Britmattia
24-10-2003, 21:17
You're bombing ships at night from high altitude? You're definitely NOT right. And still, you'd be visible on radar, stealth does not mean invisible, especially not radars like the F15C's, let alone the coastal arrays.

Most of the rounds pinged off around th metal, many didnt penetrate. Several terrorists down the ship arrived.....just in time to see the terrorists body fall, from a bullet to the heart.

<RBMilCom, Royal City, Heartlands Demense>
"Gentlemen, thank you for assembling so quickly. I've decided we're going to wait for a response from the other two nations involved in this ugly little squabble before going any further with military action. The Freddie propaganda can claim the hell what they like in the future but our fighters came off clean. Thank God for our partners radar stations or we'd have had no idea they were coming. The current situation is this, we shot down one fighter for the loss of one A-10, but the other two freddies got away clean, and we think they've launched some sort of tricky bastard ASM at the Rapier. How it's supposed to steer around a freighter within about 500m is beyond me, but the Freddies seem to think they can.. anyway we still have no idea what's going on at water level until the the Rapier tells us what on NS brought this all about. The F15Cs are remaining on station for now."
"Any chance of taking a look see with anything else?"
"The King has informed me that he's already visiting one family today and telling them they've lost a son for no known reason, he's got no desire to visit two, so no, no one's going in closer. We may send a Commanche unit out if the weather clears up, if the Rapier doesn't reply to us soon and fill in the blanks."
"Are we taking any punitive action against the Freddies for unprovoked attacks?"
"Well.. they launched from outside our waters and it's unclear if the BD Flight was within them either at the time of impact. So we're reserving judgement on launching the Lancers. They are however fueled and ready to go, should the proverbial hit the turbine. For now, we wait."
24-10-2003, 21:56
The terrrists on deck, seeing that the sub is damaged, see the hole up top. One, and ex cricket player, drops a grenade down onto the water seal....

Just before the 2 MAM-139 Slammer missiles smask thrpugh the bridge of the ship, down, exploding before the explosion hurls through the far side of the ship, raining debrie on th sub. The second one hits just above the water line, explodes thrpugh the ship and opens a gaping hole on the other side, letting in the whole sea to the freighter. The ship begins to sink nose down.

A missile still flies towards the Rapier.....

OOC: A 3 metre hole from 500 lbs of Destex? I think not. It would explode THROUGH the sub, making a gaping whole through the other side. But, I cant declare losses, so.... please rethink? :)

As the gunfire and explosions continued, Mike, following his beacon, began to get nervous has he was guided closer to it. He thought it a double edged sword - he needed a weapon...

The Captain blanched for a moment. His first cruise of his first command, and already he could be landed in the middle of a shooting war. This was just meant to be a regular long-distance patrol!
"What was contact fourteen again?"
"Unidentified large freighter. It's very close to eleven, the IDS Rapier we talked to earlier. That's probaably the target for Vampire-1."
"Oh shit. Come to two-five-five, all ahead two thirds. There may be survivors, and they haven't a hope in hell on a night like this. We can't launch the choppers until there's a break in this storm. The Captain looked out over the sea still seeing flashes of light that marked the battle between the Marines and the Terrorists.

"Sir," the Communication's Officer spoke franticly. "The Comm. Channel are still flooded."

The Captain turned and stared at the man for a second. "With what now," he asked, clearly annoyed.

But before the Officer could responded someone else was yelling. "Bogeys incoming," they yelled.

"What," the Captain screamed.

"Several aircraft," the man shot back, looking intently at the one of the sensor monitors. "They've just made a pass of the freighter. Appear to be...." The man paused and then looked up questioningly. "Britmattian?"

The Communication's Officer again spoke up. "I've got Britmattia on one of the Comm. Channels. They want to know what the hell we're doing out here."

The Captain turned from the one officer to the other thinking things over. The situation was quickly becoming complicated and he was going to have trouble staightening everything out in his report to Naval Command in Drakonia.

"Sir," another Officer cut in. "The Marines are back. Commander Cerebrus said that in this weather and taking so much fire, there is no way they can board that ship. Their loading back up now."

"Damn it," the Captain swore. "Inform the Britmattians of our situation and--"

"Missiles incoming!" The entire bridge jumped.

"What the...," the Captain's continued swearing was cut off by Officer.

"I've got two contacts inbound. One look like it heading for the frieghter and the other is coming in for us," the shocked Officer informed everyone in the loudest voice he could muster.

"Anti-Air Guns," the Captain ordered still swearing up a storm.

The Tactical Officer turned, as outside the ship Gatling Guns turned to track the incoming missile. "Already, engaged. Their tracking...."

A chorus of Twin-Barreled Gatling Guns opened up, spewing bullets along the trajectory of the missile. The crew waited, but there was no explosion.

"All Hands," the Captain ordered over the intercom, seeing the missile would hit. "Brace for impact!"

The missile shot in, the Gatling Guns still firing away. Then there was a massive violent explosion just above the deck of the ship, it seemed to engulf the entire left side of the ship. The bridge crew was blinded by the light as the Rapier shuttered.

The Captain kept his feet below him. "Damage report," the Captain called out.

For a second there was no response. Crew members picked themselves off the deck. "Communications are down," someone called.

"Port side, Short-Range Missiles are down," someone else said.

One of the bridge crew stood up shakenly clutching a bloody wound over hit eye. Another man did not move from where he lay on the floor.

The Tactical Officer look out of the bridge window and down to the deck of the ship below. "Looks like only minor hull damage," he reported. "The Gats must have got it just before it hit us."

"Fire teams dispatched. Causalty reports coming in," someone else cut in. "Four, no... Seven dead. Unconfirmed numbers of wounded."

The Captain himself moved to look down at the damage. "Pull us back further from the freighter," he ordered anger rising in his voice. "Find out what the hell, just happened."

"Yes, Sir," the First Officer responded, a cut visible on his cheek where he connect with a console as he fell to the floor. The man turned. "Switch over to secondary comm. systems. Contact the Britmattians and that sub. Someone must know what just happened."

The crew continued to work, some helping the seriously wounded from the bridge while the rest dedicatedly manned their posts.

"This is IDS Rapier, to Britmattia," the Communication's Officer spoke into his headset. "We're a routine deep sea patrol and encountered an apparently hijacked Freedom Country frieghter. Working with a Squornshelous Submarine to investigate further and have been attack by an air-launched missile, over. Please, responded."

OOC: There that should catch me up.

"IDS Rapier this is General Dumas, RB Unified High Command, we're tracking those missiles as having been launched from Freedom Country MA-10s, they were stealthed but left their IFF beacons on. They shot at our A-10s and downed one, and they're yet to respond to any querys made to them.. We've got F-15Cs orbiting at about angels 40 over your location, so if you need top cover you've got it...also our track plot of that last missile had it impact on you, do you require medical assist?
There's also an other sub and a Udalayov II in the area if you haven't already picked up on them, we don't know their intentions, but you have our full co-operation in this. The HMS Pendragon and it's battlegroup are headed to your location, they should be on-site in about 5 hours.

"Get those causalty report confirmed," the First Officer called out. "And get a update from Damage and Fire Teams. I want to know what we're dealing with."

"Sir," the Communication's Officer spoke catching the Captain's attention. "Britmattia is responding."

"On audio," the First Officer ordered as both he and the Captain marched over to the Communication's Station.

The Britmattia transmission played over the bridge speakers.

"What in God's green earth are they thinking in Freedom Country," the Captain roared. "Firing on us!?"

"Sir." The First Officer attempt to calm his Captains anger. "It may have been a mistake or it could be some kind of trick by the terrorist or another party."

"Mistake," the Captain roared louder. "That was no bloody mistake!" He thought everything over and then spoke calmly. "Make sure the Beeblebrox got that transmission from Britmattia, too. Looks like at least we have some help. And, pull us even further from that cursed freighter."

"Yes, Sir." The crew went to work as the Captain thought about his reply to Britmattia.

He looked to the Operation's Officer. "Who is the nearest Imperial ship," He asked.

The Officer looked at the console in front of him. "The frigate IDS Swiftsure, Sir."

"Good," the Captain looked more confident as his ship put still more distance between itself and the frieghter on which this chaotic event pivoted. "Contact, them, and ask her Captain to rendezvous out here with us. We need the support."

The Captain turned walked to stand at the shoulder of the sitting Communication's Officer. "Okay, responded to Britmattia," he commanded. "Ask them to confirm that it appears Freedom Country did this. Also tell them, we're not sure, yet if we need medical assistance, causalty numbers have not been confirmed, but, we will need assistance. It may be very likely we will not survive another one of those missile strikes." He paused and waited for the Officer to confirm. "That is all."

The Captain paced back to the bridge windows. This is one hell of a routine patrol, he thought to himself.

"What do we have on that which we can share?"
"Without compromising the LIDAR, we can send them our SONAR/RADAR reports from the monitoring stations, also, the com monitoring station in ArchAngelia has picked up a LOT of traffic coming out of the Freddies, including between the MA-10s and mainland FC, we're pretty sure they were ordered to fire by someone in authority, what this says about their politics at present..we have MilInt working on decoding the transmissions right now sir, do you want us to send those to the Draks as well?"
"Relay them. I want as close to full communication with them as we can get, after the Pendragon arrives we'll review that, but they are the power on scene at present."

We are/were on a "routine" patrol mission in this area. We are attempting to work in cooperation with the Drakonians. Please tag us as a friendly.

The mood on board the Beeblebrox is one of frustration. With the hijacked freighter sunk and all attacks coming by air, the crew has nothing to unload on. The one exception to this is the as yet unidentified (ICly) sub on the surface. A message is sent by the underwater sonar phone.

"Well, get those MA-10's back out there, and tell the Fleet to launch several helo's. Make sure the fleet moves within 3 miles, and machine gun ANY SURVIVORS in the water. And say it was'nt us who did the strike."

Message to all:

Freedom Country does not believe this has happened. We do not condemn the freighter was even military, as it was on frequent shuttle runs with Crookfur, exchanging goods. We do not confirm there was the F-32 onboard.

We do not know how that airstrike could have happened. We have no naval assets in the area, other than the fleet which is 300 miles away. This fleet is watched by the IT community, and could not have launched a strike.

"Ok ladies, showtime!!"

3 F-32's are on the deck, surrounded by presonnel. They are lightly armed with AA-2 ASRAAM's and JDAM's. One is wheeled over to the catapults, in front of the ski ramp.

"All gear check, everything functioning."

"You are good to go 221, on Cat 2, free!! Light the bonfire 221."

"Roger, engine starting."

The engine whines up, and the F-32 is connected to the second catapult. Full engines are up.

"V1, repeat V1. Ready."

"Beacon Niner, launch Cat 2 and ready Cat 1."

"This is Beacon Niner, go!!"

The F-32 jolts forward, pushed by the catapult. The Catatpult stops, and the F-32 powers up the ramp and into the air.

"Cat 1, hooked with 222."

"Beacon Niner, go!!"

Second F-32 goes into the air.

"223, clear!!"

"Cat 3, ready and hooked. Go for 223."

"Go!!"

3rd F-32 leaps off the end of the deck after a short run, and flies into the air. All the F-32's turn and head back over the carrier.

OOC The Pendragon is *the* ultimate battleship if it had been taken to the furtherest the basic premise could go. Don't accuse me of godmodding with this one either, HVMs, LIDAR, railguns are all possible with near modern tech, and a ship the size the Pendragon would concievably be would be able to carry armour thick enough to ignore anything smaller than a 15" round off an Iowa Class. All, the fighters break, one going straight ahead, the other 2 left and right.

They all begin flying sweeps over the area.

The 2st F-32, armed with modified JDAM's, goes straight down towards where the wreck of the Puddle is. It releases 2 JDAM's, before diving low over the waves. Diving over the HMS Pendragon, it flies off at top speed, Mach 2.3. The other remain.

The 2 JDAM's hit the water. Instead of exploding, the continue to sink. They eventually hit the bottom, where they explode, mangling the wreck of the Puddle. But, accidentally, 1 of the Chemical Warheads is puncured.

"Yes, sir," the crewman answered. "They've all been put out, damage control is still working, though."

"They'll be busy until be put into port," the First Officer responded.

Across the bridge the Captain watched the chaos continue a ways away where the frieghter had been sunk. The entire sea seamed to be crawling with ships and now aircraft were making arcs in the air.

At least, the weather had cleared, the Captain thought, looking at the bright blue sky, dotted with white puffy clouds. The sea was calm, but on board the Rapier and the other ships it still seemed like a storm. The sun had risen, but it still seemed like night. War, could easily come from this incident and all knew the fine line that they were walking (or rather, sailing).

"Finally," the Commication's Officer cheered. "I've got the communications back up."

The Captain looked over at the man. "Get us a status report from the Pendragon. Coordinate with them, and find out where the Swiftsure is."

"Uh, Captain," the First Officer said pointing off in another direction. The Captain followed his Officers finger and spotted frigate moving in.

"Good, good," the Captain responded not at all sounding happy. "Contact, Naval Command. Inform them of the situation."

He watch the frigate Swiftsure sail in slowly closing the distance between the ships. This was one bloody violent routine patrol, he thought to himself for the second time.

-----Message to all---------

We did NOT commit that strike, it may have been a terrorist group or a whole other country. The facts are:

A) We sell MA-10's on a worldwide basis, and they have sold to many countries.

b) It was coming in from a flight channel over INTERNATIONAL waters, not over FC waters.

C) We have no reason to strike the great empire of Drakonian Imperium and the other fine nation shere.

D) You do not even know for certain the were MA-10's.

OOC: YOU CANNOT DICTATE THAT THE IFF BEACONS WERE ON.

So, everytime I launch a F*CKING strike, I BLOODY HAVE TO GO LIKE THIS:

Item the First: We tracked what were visibly FA-10s in from international waters to a location 50 nautical miles from the incident.

Item the Second: The FA-10s then launched AAM and ASM missiles at respectively A. Our A-10 patrol in the air, downing one and killing the pilot.
B. The FC Freighter the Puddle, sinking it. C. An as yet unidentified submarine, damaging it enough to make it relatively noisy on sonar. It's still on scene but has not contacted us. D. The IDS Rapier, damaging it enough that we provided medical assist from the HMS Pendragon.

Item the Third: We've examined the possible launch radius of the FA-10s based on their known flight time, with or without drop tanks. Unless your terrorists also stole a fuel tanker aircraft, they definitely launched from somewhere near the FC.

Item the Fourth: Our F-15F Pilots, the 6th Air Combat Squadron, are an experienced combat unit, having recently seen action versus the Druze. In the Flight Leader's judgement manouveres like the FA-10s would have taken more training than most terrorists have, and the FA-10s, which were visible to the F-15Fs' radar, if not the AAM-RAMs, match the configuration of FC FA-10s, this may be because the terrorists have failed to modify them.

Item the Fifth: We intercepted heavy radio traffic between the FA-10s and radio stations operating within the FC. We are yet to decode these transmissions, but we are confident of the broadcast and recieve sources.

I, Andrew, Duke of Edinburgh, Commander of the Royal Forces, attest these findings as reported to me by:
Royal Britmattian Diplomatic Corps, John, Lord Ringo.
Royal Britamttian Military Intelligence, Thomas, Lord Clancy.

You know nothing, do you.

Stealth planes, such as the B-2, F-117 and F-22, have been proven to NOT be seen by F-15's until they are as close as 9 miles. NINE MILES.

I was 50 away, most radars cant see a small UAV from that distance, stealth or not.

Also, you CANNOT dicate what others aircraft do. My aircraft were on radio silence (they are on every mission they are sent out on), so no radio was heard, apart from when they left, up to 5 miles away from the airport (which was 500km AWAY from the combat zone). No radar can reach that far.

Also, I am neighboured by 2 nations, one on either side. Both are within the same ombat distance as me. And if you calculate right, since we are in the middle of International Waters, many nations are closer to us. If you remember, I dictate where the freighter was, and it was near the coat of Terepa, which is neighboured by several nations. We are in the middle of a goddamn corridor of nations.

So please, act like you never really saw 'em, cos strust me, its almost impossible.

On the bridge of the Rapier the ship's Captain looked out over the waves, his thoughts falling on what had transpired.

"Sir." The Rapier's First Officer appeared at the Captain's side. "The Reports in from Naval Command. Freedom Country is claiming it was terrorist and not giving in to our demands for more information."

For a second, there was silence. "I guess we'll never know," the Captain stated, his gaze never wavering. "For sure, that is."

OOC: And that's a rap. Cue, Theme Song and Credits.
