Hereditary President Calimar sat with his Cabinet in the main conference room on the 100th floor of the Tower of the People. (The room is capable of holding 50 people, and has a central table of black marble capable of seating 30.) He sat in his comfortable leather seat, and sipped on a glass of cold tea. He looked around at his Cabinet, most were chatting quietly, and the new Secretary of Commerce, Cordelia Stanton, was going over budget sheets. He pressed an intercom button on the table to his personal aide, "Julie, inform me when the Galactic Alliance ambassadors arrive in the system."

OOC: Arriving representatives will be given an escort into high orbit by Dreadnought Squadron I, and are asked to dock their transports at Orbital Control, where VIP shuttles will take them to the capital.

A small craft drops out of jumpspace in Vernii's system, immidiately transmitting its ID as a Blademasters diplomatic vessel, carrying one human ambassador, and one AI. It begins to accelerate towards Vernii's planet where the talks are being held.

Jimathon woke up with a start, "Why does my head hurt?"

"It's a hangover, your Jimliness."

"Dont get smart with me this early in the morn..." *Bang, Boom*

"That was the ship docking, sir."

"It always sounds like that?"

"If the Pilot is drunk, yes."

"Call down to the planet, tell him I'm here and ready to get to...*VOIMIT*...work."

Six dreadnoughts, each 6.5 megatons, arrange themselves in a protective formation around the diplomatic shuttles. "This is Rear Admiral Thompson, we welcome you to the Gregor system, we will escort you to Orbital Control, where a VIP shuttle will transport you to the talks."

A small gold and black shuttle appears as it jumps out of subspace, the eloquent design signifiying someone of great importance, a shilohette flag of Penguenia adorned on it's hull. In the cockpit, a tall, handsome man appears.

"We long ago had an amendment changing that, Klonor hasn't updated it yet. We offer you the combined power and security of 60+ nations all working together to make space a better place. We have come to help every war a member was forced into. We also have fringe tech benifits. Like cloaking devices and Ministar engines." Or Elarian Ale, he didn't add.

"It must be approved by all present members during a selected amount of itme, not all members," Emperor Raziel of Penguenia responded, coming in late through the tall double doors of the meeting room, "It would be impossible to get things done if all members had to vote."

The 3 meter tall AI and the human diplomat walk in, the AI standing abrest of the human.

As your transports dock at orbital control, 100 marines in dress uniform snap to attention and salute. A junior officer leads your diplomatic parties to a VIP shuttle. Its painted white and gold, and has large windows set into the sides. The inside is decorated with a plush purple carpeting, and soft heated leather seats. A stewardess offers all of you a glass of wine as the ship leaves the shuttle. Landing in 5 minutes.

You see a man with a white uniform, gold braids, and a purple cape enter and sit down. He does not say anything.

I was asked to post info about my Knossos Sub-Space Portal. The region of Sub-Space, which I use to travel Faster than Light at speeds reaching 1 light-year per minute, is highly unstable when reaching between star systems. While intra-system jumps are possible from any point in a star system, inter-system jumps are only possible between two Sub-Space Jump-Nodes, where the region of Sub-Space is strengthened to allow travel. However, not all star systems are connected by Jump-Nodes and then I am forced to rely on my independant FTL drives which are 60 times slower. To help speed up travel between star systems the Knossos Sub-Space portal was developed. When activated, the Knossos creates an artificial Jump-Node between the system it is in and the nearest other Jump-Node. I am currently asking permission from all GA members to build a Knossos in each GA system, but have since received only partial acceptance.

All it does is create an artificial Jump-Node. They occur naturally in thousands of system, and only work if you use Sub-Space FTL tech. Here's a map of all currently mapped natural Jump-Nodes

The man turned out to only be a guard, who directed them to take their seats at the conference table. They sat down.

We use hypergates connecting our system with regional allies, for ships that are not hyper-capable by themselves. It can handle ships up to 8 megatons, altho the higher the mass, the greater the time of travel, and time between the hypergate can be used. An 8 megaton ship would have about 2 hrs travel from here to our nearest ally, and shut down the gate for 20 minutes. Your ships would be able to use ours, since they are meant for any sort of starship. Your information about the Knossos system said something about subspace ftl systems, is that required for use?

OOC: Jumpgates can perform infintivaly better than that, having no wight limit.
