I condemn you! How dare you encourage war like that! Ensuring the deaths of thousands! And not even charging him for the items!
06-10-2003, 19:10
Could you throw a couple tanks my way :D

I'm currently equipped with 30 T-55s and that's it on the armoured front, not even BRDMs :(

How dare you roll your eyes at me, arrogant...people! I am the greatest eye-roller ever!

Besides, this nation can now invade another country and kill many civilians. So you can have a few pennies more. Well, isn't that great. Arms dealing is blood money.

The Dominion of Kotterdam officially donates two hundred Merkava Mk III tanks to Coldorra. The Dominion recently phased out eight hundred of these tanks, and was just going to use them for live fire target practice anyway, and as such has decided to attempt to attract new business partners through generosity. Included in the deal are fifty IFV-2 Normandy Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicles.

Yes it is. It is also very profitable business. You have your priorities and I have mine.

And with that, I would like to welcome ShoxDaPimp to NationStates, and offer him 100,000 sets of olive drab BDUs and 100,000 suits of Level III Body Armour for the price of k23,200,000 Kottermarks, or $46,400,000 USD total.

We'll send you a platoon of M-93 Wolverines, they're older models, but they should be sufficent for you needs. No charge, we're cleaning out the miltia invintories for newer models.

M-93 Wolverine Main Battle Tank- Despite weighing in at “only” fifty-five tons, the Wolverine is quite capable of destroying anything on the ground or in the air. With an unmatched combination of speed, firepower, protection and mobility, the Wolverine is able to outrun, and outgun anything it is likely to encounter on the battlefield.

Weapons/Equipment-
1) 155mm main gun (Able to accurately fire over thirty rounds a minute out to six and a half miles with direct fire, it is also able to act as a mobile artillery piece, firing out as far as twenty miles in some cases).
a) Armor piercing sabot (A solid depleted uranium shell, it relies on mass and velocity to punch through the target’s armor).
b) High explosive (A hollow shell filled with explosive, it detonates on impact causing a spray of shrapnel, used against unarmored targets and infantry. This shell can also be equipped with a proximity fuse for air bursts and a delayed fuse for hardened structures).
c) Fletchette (Strictly a close range anti-personal round, it releases thousands of two and a half inch nails at supersonic velocities, vaporizing enemy troops).
d) Mine deployment (An artillery round, when it detonates, it covers an area with a combination of anti-tank and anti-personal mines).
2) 37mm phalanx gatling gun (Used for a combination of close range anti-air and anti missile defense, it can also be used against light armor and infantry).
3) .50 caliber co-ax machine gun
4) .225 mm chain gun mounted in front of the commander’s hatch.
5) Two racks of Headhunter surface-air missiles with heat seeking, radar, laser, and optical guidance systems, as well as wire guidance.
6) Short range passive and active radar systems.
7) GPS navigation system.
8 ) Laser, infrared, low-light, and acoustic sensors.
9) Twin turbine engines capable of propelling the Wolverine at up to 100mph over rough terrain.
10) Adjustable suspension system.
11) Molecularly bonded armor.
12) Snorkel system (Allows shallow underwater running).

You prioritise a few measy pounds over lives?

It's not nearly as simple as all that. I'll admit. My response was intended primarily to shock you, but it was true as far as it went. The sale of the implements of war is a quite profitable business, one that employs a great number of my countrymen. It is also, and I don't expect that this will be easy to understand, my contribution to world stability.

How could I call selling advanced military hardware a contribution to world stability? Thanks to a concept known as detterance. If a country remains unarmed, or poorly armed, a better equipped, less morally correct nation will swallow them up, absorbing their resources and population base into their own. That nation will then use its increased powerbase to commit similar acts of war, thus destabilizing the world as a whole.

If that other nation had been well equipped with weapons on par with, or in advance of the invading nation, their attacker might have thought twice about invading because of the possibility that he might lose. The war described above might never have happened. That is what is known as deterance, and that is why I can sleep well at night, having sold millions of dollars of advanced weaponry. I do not traffic in weapons of mass destruction, as the proliferation of such things often is more destabilizing to developing nations than their potential deterant factor is worth, but I do believe in a nation's right to defend itself. If I can make a profit and earn a few Kottermarks in the process of making it easier for them to do so, then so much the better.

I debated this in another thread so I'm not going to repeat myself.

Just spam as a non-violent protest.

Demo, you might note that I make a big deal of the fact that most nations my size could cripple me if hey introducted conscription and had a war machine... I even tell people my military budget!

My army is purely for slightly defensive purposes but mostly anti-terrorist.

Exactly. As a wise man once said, cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it.

No problem, we have armored calvary divisons instead of infantry or armored divisions so the size of our tank and APC units tend to be a good deal larger than the US standard.
