Sakkran colonists in TofY upgrade civilian vehicles (pics)

Titan Sakkra

We have had some time to analyze the performance of some of our key methods of transport in a non-terran environment since forming our colony on Titan, and have upgraded the units accordingly. The first is our aero-space Monitor class shuttle.

Footage of the Monitor II running a test-course through the Great Asteroid Belt

http://home.earthlink.net/~peterpank/monitor.jpg

The specifics are as follows thus far...

Code-name: Monitor II
Length: 95 meters
Width: 50 meters
Height: 22.5 meters
Weight:(unloaded) 85 tons
Hull: Layered light Titanium/osmium alloy and Cermite 13/14. The inner hull has a thin layer of aluminum.
Crew: 5; Pilot, copilot, 2 engineers and communications officer.
Cockpit: 6 meters long by 4 meters wide by 2.2 meters tall
Passengers: 20 maximum
Air recycling duration: 3 months
Cargo capability: 60 tons
Max air speed:Mach 1.5 for extended periods in atmosphere. Mach 6.2 for orbital entry.
Max Vacuum landing/takeoff gravity: 2.5
Fusion Engines: 4 Kreeg IVb.A variant C engines.
Engine Life: 9 months (with monthly maintanence) before requiring coolant replacement and alignment of laser-pinch containment field, and replacement of the fusion core. Has a back-up magnetic bottle containment field as well.
Features: The Monitor II has 2 unisex restrooms and 2 airlocks (double hatch) joining to the cargo bay. Cargo area has bay doors for loading of large-scale materials. Also contains a passenger area with inertia-absorbing gelatinous full-body crash chairs (oh so comfy) for minimal jostling. Also has storage areas for passenger items and cargo. The Monitor also has an infra-red, telescopic and UV camera. Wide-band and tight-band radio receiver/transmitter, go-faster stripes, fuzzy dice, a bobbling-head chihuahua, a food and drink dispenser and a small kitchenette area make this a sure-fire crowd pleaser. A lower cargo door allows for the loading of vehicles and troops. Power-armor troops can be hot-jumped from a rear-facing cargo door for LZ's with active hostiles in the area if used as a military transport.

3.5 billion USD.

Salamander amphibious armored civilian transport

http://home.earthlink.net/~peterpank/NEWT.jpg

This civilian-use modified unit is based off of our upgraded troop transports. They feature 12 Kevlar reinforced wheels for greater speed on land which is up to 85kph, and are capable of a flank speed of 25 knots in
water which is propeller-driven, and has high-pressure water jet back-ups which operate under reduced speed. The water jets cannot be used when the unit is submerged.
The engine is a smaller version of our Kreeg IVbA Fusion engine for
extended use of up to 6 months, which all systems in the transport are hooked up to, including the air recycling system and satellite communication/reception array.

It's cargo capacity is 12 Sakkrans and 3 to crew the craft (or 20 humans), and an additional 2 tons.
Weight is approximately 15 tons empty, and it's length/width/height is
35'/ 9'/ 7'. These units also now feature limited submersible capability. It can be air-tight and pressurized, able to dive to a depth of 250'. The entire vehicle can remain submerged for up to 12 hours if it has a full
compliment of passengers.
We've estimated the costs for building a single unit to be about 4 million USD
Toad all-terrain civilian transport

Another unit based on our troop transport, this one is more of a pleasure-driver than large-scale transport. The engine is the smallest version of our Kreeg IVbA Fusion engine. It can go for extended journeys of up to 2 months. AM/FM stereo with CD player and A/V-quantum crystal communications, GPS and pop-up HUD showing terrain and destination marker. The independent wheel-pod suspension systems is operated by an on-board computer that reads the terrain ahead, and lifts or lowers the wheels independently of each other to compensate, allowing greater control at higher speeds on or off road.

Speed: Cruising 75 kph on road, 55 kph off. Max 165 kph on road, 95 kph off. Climb capacity is 42 degree hill.
It's cargo capacity is 4 Sakkrans and 1 to crew the vehicle (or 8 humans), and an additional 800 lbs.
Weight is approximately 2 tons empty, and it's length/width/height is
13'/ 7'/ 6'.

We've estimated the costs for building a single unit to be about 50,000 USD

Sakkran Construction Suits

http://home.earthlink.net/~peterpank/Consuit.jpg

Like having a bull-dozer, subterranean driller, back-hoe and forklift all in one. We have improved our patented Constructor Suits. The unit now comes with a built-in molecular welder over the left shoulder as depicted below.

Stats on the Powered Constructor Suit...

Features: The Horde Suit is hermetically sealed and pressurized when the helmet is locked in place. It allows the pilot to operate at full capability without tiring for 12 times as long as normal. The chest has a pair of IR light emitters built in. The armor is powered with servo-motors and heavy hydraulics with an on-board CPU for reading and predicting body movement. The suit also increases strength, allowing the pilot to lift an additional 5 tons on top of their own strength.

Height/Width/Weight: Additional 2.5' to the pilots height. Additional 1.5' to the pilots width. Weight is .85 tons.
Speed: Running, 8 kph tops. Has balancing thrusters for space flight.
Armor Plating: Medium-grade Titanium/Osmium armor and layered cermite beneath.
Sensor package: UV light sensors on chest. Radio receiver/transmitter, nightvision and IR camera on helmet. Motion sensor with a 500' range.
Power Pack: Miniaturized Kreeg IVb.A fusion power supply with a 2 month life-span. Needs replacing every other month. Can be substituted with an electrical battery pack. Also expect a 12 hour life before it needs recharging.

The Molecular Welder works on the same principle as an arc welder, but on a molecular scale. A monofilament strand is carried along a laser torch beam, exciting molecules and fusing the monofilament into the existant molecular structures between the two welding targets, creating a bond as strong as if there was never a weld made in that spot in the first place. This particular piece of technology comes with a non-duplication clause, that must be signed before shipment is arranged.
Unit cost: 6.5 million USD each.

Very nice equipment. Oh and by the way, did you forget about our thread?

OOC: No I didn't forget, but it seemed like it started going on a new tangent and I wanted to see where it led to.

What, no buyers? 1 NS year (for me that's two days) will remain, and then these units will be pulled off the general marketplace. Don't come crying when you need a non-cardboard aero-space shuttle to use.
