A-91M Small Size Assault Rifle
One of the best weapons around.

Is intended to fulfil a wide range of missions and to engage the enemy by automatic fire and firing the underbarrel grenade launcher.

The original design of the assault rifle lacks the drawbacks of the weapon developed according to classical bullpup principle.

The built-in underbarrel grenade launcher do not affect the balance of the weapon, and do not worsen accuracy characteristics when firing the assault rifle.

The first two shots are fired at a incredible rate of 1800 rounds per minute! This means that the bullets have left the barrel before recoil makes the gun move off its target, which enhances the accuracy considerably. After the first two shots have been fired, the gun continues to fire at a rate of 600 rounds per minute, like a normal automatic rifle. If the trigger is released and pulled again, the first two shots will again be at the high rate of fire. Off course a single shot setting is also provided.

The particular feature of these assault rifles is the utilization of a balanced shockless automatics with separated inertia masses.

The consistency of A-91 automatic fire from unsteady positions is 1.5 to 2 times closer compared to the weapons whose action is made according to the classical configuration

$1400 each (get what you pay for- a kickass assault rifle)

OICW costs about $10,000 each, stupid.

Not with our high-tech, extemly cheap manufactureing processes. Don't bother calling a godmod either. We've had them a while.

Anyhoo, lighter, longer barrel? Lets see....
The FAMAS. Bullpup design, so the barrel may look short, but it goes right back to where the magizene is.

The Dominion of Koterdam can provide you with FN FAL 7.62 x 51mm NATO assault rifles for $590.00 a piece. If you wish something more... Exotic, we also have domestically produced weapons.

Viking Firearms Mark-II Cobra

Using the roller-delayed blowback breech system favoured by Heckler & Koch, this odd firearm is perhaps unique in being a 7.62 x 51mm NATO carbine in a bullpup format. Rather than standard iron sights, the Cobra uses an integral 3x optical sight mounted in the carrying handle, although this can be removed if damaged, or just on the firer’s preference and replaced with nearly any other scope. If neccesary, there are even flip-up iron sights for use in emergencies.

With a nod to its intended use in special operations, there is a proprietary suppressor available for the Cobra from Viking Firearms. Although not a true silencer in that it doesn’t slow the round fired to subsonic speeds, the suppressor does indeed muffle the muzzle blast. While this makes it quite difficult to locate the firer by the sound of his weapon alone, the supersonic cracks the bullets make as they streak through the air will make it quite obvious that someone is shooting. Using so-called “cold-loaded” subsonic ammunition eliminates these supersonic cracks and, while reducing the damage done by the rifle, makes it quite silent.

Viking Firearms M32A1 Rapier

Based off of principles pioneered in Heckler and Koch’s G11 rifle, this weapon takes it all one step further. Rather than providing silenced weapons to Special Operations forces alone, Viking Firearms provided the M32A1 with an integral suppressor. Coupled with the fact that the caseless ammunition virtually eliminates bolt sounds, the M32A1 is almost impossible to hear in operation. There isn't even a shell casing to be ejected and give away the position of the shooter. Although the weapon's ammunition is supersonic, and thus not "silenced", the supressor nonetheless nearly eliminates firing sounds, although the bullet will still make a sharp crack as it travels through the air. While this will reveal the fact that someone is indeed shooting at the target, it will make it nearly impossible to tell where the shooter is. As well, Viking Firearms offers a 4.7 x 33mm caseless round using a somewhat less-potent propellant block of the same dimensions with a heavier round, reducing the round to sub-sonic speeds while maintaining much of the original round's damage potential. Effectively, this round renders the Rapier a silenced weapon.

Rather than standard iron sights, the Rapier uses an integral 3x optical sight mounted in the carrying handle, although this can be removed if damaged, or just on the firer’s preference, revealing a NATO standard Picatinny rail. If neccesary, there are even flip-up iron sights for use in emergencies. The odd top-loading magazine is made out of a transparent temperature-resistant plastic that allows the firer to tell at a glance how many shots he has left.

Although the standard magazine for this weapon is a 60 round box, a special 120-round helical box magazine is available. While the weapon's standard full-auto firing rate is locked at 600 rpm, the weapon's cyclic rate is actually a shocking 2000 rpm. This rate is only utilized on the weapon's three round burst setting, allowing it to spit out three shots before the weapon's recoil spoils the aim, allowing for exceptionally tight groupings. On unsilenced prototypes, the three round burst sounded like one loud shot, it came so quickly.

The Cobra carbine is more expensive than the Rapier for the simple reason that the Cobra is constructed to a more exacting standard, making it a far more accurate weapon.

Walther/Viking Firearms P99/10

Manufactured under licence by Viking Firearms in Kotterdam, the Walther P99/10 is a distant relation of James Bond's weapon of choice. In response to a requirement by the DKA, the standard Walther P99 was increased in calibre from 9mm Parabellum to 10mm Automatic. Otherwise, the operation and mechanism of this fine weapon is unchanged. Rather, the other changes to the weapon are mostly cosmetic.

Like the standard model, the P99/10 is a recoil-operated, double action, locked breech gun, making use of a modified Browning-style locking system as well as incorporating a recoil compensator in the backstrap. Extremely reliable and accurate, the P99/10 makes use of a polymer frame to reduce weight, and an adjustable backstrap to allow it to become a more comfortable fit in the shooter's hand. As well, the weapon has three automatic safeties: A striker safety, a trigger safety, and an out of battery safety that sees to it that should the weapon's hammer accidentally fall, the firing pin will not be alligned with it, and thus the pistol will not fire.

Notes
Concerned that their new IFV outstripped the capabilities of their primary MBT, the DKA put out a requirement for a replacement for the Merkava MkV MBT already in service. Using lessons learned from that tank, the Kotterdam Motor Company designed the MBT-3 Werewolf. Carrying many similar componants to the other tank, the MBT-3 nonetheless incorporates a number of innovations. Prime amongst these is the commander's weapon.

Where earlier tanks utilized manually-fired heavy machine guns, the MBT-3 makes use of a 25mm cannon in a teleoperated mini-turret with over seven hundred rounds. Manual controls were considered, but due to the design of the tank itself, any hit that disabled the cannon's controls would likely render the weapon itself inoperative. Standard 7.62mm machine guns were retained for the coaxial and skate mounts, however, and a 60mm Semi-Automatic Mortar is included as an indirect-fire weapon.

Although entirely manual controls are included, primary fire control for the main gun is routed through a sophisticated targeting computer, allowing the gunner to, among other things, designate up to three targets within a ninety-degree field of vision from one another, select the appropriate ammunition type, and engage them all on the move at the main gun's cyclic rate.

Notes
Designed originally to meet a requirement put forth by Rimbauld, KMC's IFV-2 Normandy performed so well in tests that the design has since been adopted as the DKA's next-generation Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

Built with a highly modular design, the Normandy is capable of being converted from its baseline design to a Mortar carrier, a gun carrier, a command-post vehicle, an ambulance, as well as a minesweeper, engineer support vehicle, ARV, and dry, wet, and General Purpose logistics vehicles through the replacement of its componants and its entirely modular turret.

Although all fire-controls for this capable vehicle have manual backups, the primary fire function is highly computerized to allow first-round first-hit capability against enemy vehicles, even on the move. As well, the vehicle's design allows most componants to be serviced by the crew without ever leaving the vehicle.

In addition, The LPI Counter-Battery Radar System on the artillery variant allows the IFV-2 to detect incoming artillery fire, identify the most likely position of the enemy battery, and return fire to silence your opponant's guns, all while the enemy's first volley is still in the air.

If you want an MBT, Ill post something that makes Werewolf look like a T-55. Ill post IFV and scout a bit later.

Heres our main APC:
The BTR-94A Armored Personnel Carrier (on the basis of BTR-80 armored carriers) is an amphibious multipurpose armored vehicle, which has effective missile-gun and machine gun armament and heavy-duty power unit. The BTR-94A is intended for accompishment of the delivery of mechanized infantery personnel to the battle field; provision of fire support with personnel small arms. It can destroy with turret weapons ground targets such as artillery batteries, armored vehicles, field fortifications, strong points and launchers. It can also combat enemy living force who disperse on large area of plain or highlands, and low-flying air targets. It can conduct radar and optronic reconnaissance of ground and air targets by its own instruments.

The BTR-90 is for use as a combination armored personnel carrier and scout vehicle. In this role, the BTR-94A's turret is somewhat larger and armed with a ZU-23-2 twin 23mm autocannon and a coaxial PKT machinegun, as well as 4 Khrizantema-3 radar-guided anti tank missiles. In addition, the turret has mounted on it a combination ground surveillance/air surveillance radar with a range of up to 20 km against ground targets and 30 km against aerial targets. The night vision suite has been improved, and a video camera system with a data link to higher headquarters has been added. The guns are equipped with a laser rangefinder that also doubles as a laser designator. The engine has been upgraded to a multifuel type.

The multipurpose armament provides heavy destruction ability of personnel, armored and fortified land-based sites and low-flying air-borne targets. The heavy-duty power unit on the base of the multi-fuel diesel engine provides high speed and manoeuvrability of the combat vehicle. The internal hull and turret Kevlar liner provides the additional protection of crew, troops and internal equipment against bullets and fragments, ensures high temperature proof even being attacked by enemy with incendiary ammunition and mixtures.

Oh, and 600 BPM-97, and 500 BTR-90.

DT, I will begin looking for MBTs, our L 2A8 DRDCs are kinda outdated compared to most NS MBTs.
New Empire
06-10-2003, 15:33
So you want MBTs, eh?
In a joint operation, the New Genoese Defense Department (NGDD) and the New Empire Military Projects Department (NEMPD) have announced the release of the KAF-90E Main Battle Tank, an upgrade to the KAF-90D. No more than 500 tanks can be purchased.
http://invisionfree.com/forums/The_Allied_Powers/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=875
Armament
The KAF-90E armament includes one New Empirian 140mm electro-thermal-chemical (ETC) gun, stabilised in two axes and equipped with a thermal sleeve and automatic muzzle reference system (AMRS). In principle, the ETC gun utilizes a chemically energetic (reactive) working liquid instead of a coventional solid propellent. The KAF-90E combines ETC technology with existing SP 140mm guns and ammunition. Basically, the gun fires 140mm rounds, which hit with the power of 170mm rounds, and increases penetration by about 50%. In addition to the ETC propellent, ammunition has been quadra-charged. It penetrates 2800mm at 1km, 1900mm at 2km, 1200mm at 3km, and 900mm at 4km. The gun tube can be replaced without dismantling inside the turret.

The gun can fire a variety of ammunition including APDS (Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot), HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank), HE-FRAG (High Explosive Fragmentation) as well as shrapnel projectiles with time fuzes.

The KAF-90E gun can also fire the AT-15B anti-tank guided missile system. The range of the missile is 100 - 7,000m and takes 14.7 sec to reach maximum range. The system is intended to engage tanks fitted with ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) as well as low-flying air targets such as helicopters, at a range of up to 8km. The missile system fires either the 9M123-3 or 9M123-F-3 missiles. The second model, the 9M123-F-3, has a high explosive warhead. The maximum range of the missile is 7000 meters with a maximum speed of 400 meters per second; thus it is supersonic. Missile weight is 30.4kg. The gun's 12 RPM automatic loader will feed both ordnance and missiles.

There are 12 Kornet-2 ATGM's towards the rear of the turret. Kornet is a laser guided ATGM with a range of over 6km and 1600mm penetration.

A new modified 14.5mm ZPU-1B heavy machine cannon, using a new ETC propellant, can be fitted on the low weight RLS 609 weapon station. The ZPU-1B can fire 700 rounds per minute and penetrate most APC armor. The RLS 609 weapon station provides low noise levels during firing and minimum carbon monoxide concentrations. A remote controlled RLS 609 is equipped with a CCD camera, liquid crystal display monitor and joystick control for operation of the weapon systems from within the vehicle.

A glacis mounted 14.5mm ZPU-1B heavy machine cannon is fitted on the front of the tank. It can be fired by the driver.

A 7.62mm minigun is also mounted coaxially on the right hand side of the main armament.

Self-Protection
The KAF-90E tank is protected by both 2nd generation Chobham armor (Dorchestor) and third generation explosive reactive armor (Kaktus-1).

The KAF-90E is fitted with the Shtora-1 defensive aids suite. This system includes infrared jammer, laser warning system with four laser warning receivers, grenade discharging system which produces an aerosol screen and a computerised control system.

The New Genoese ARENA system, the first available DAS-system, was analysed by TNO-PML in collaboration with TNO-FEL. This systems detects an incoming anti-tank missile and reacts by throwing a cassette containing explosives and fragments towards the missile. Upon detonation of the cassette, the fragments interact with the missile, such that its effectiveness decreases substantially.

Both laboratory testing of the effectiveness of the fragments and computer simulation of the suite of events- detection, intercept and residual penetration capability- were performed. This resulted in an assessment of the increased survivability of the vehicle equipped with ARENA. The same analyses also gave an idea of the decrease of performance of the anti-tank missile.

The Arena system is switched on/off from the commander's control console. Once Arena is switched on, all subsequent operations are performed automatically. Apart from the basic automatic mode of operation, exceptionally, the commander can control the system manually, for example, when it is necessary to destroy obstacles or for close-in protection against infantry.

Arena provides protection for a moving or stationary tank in any weather and in any combat environment, irrespective of the angle of impact of the enemy's weapons. The data-processing radars and sights feature a high level of noise immunity. They do not respond to false and random signals, and come into action only in situations where there is a serious threat to the tank or when a weapon fired by the enemy is heading directly towards the tank.

The KAF-90E is also equipped with the "Grapeshot" Anti-Missile Defense System.

The "Grapeshot" is similar to a claymore mine, though there are four charges, mounted on a rotating post atop the turret and capable of showering both enemy ground troops and incoming missiles in a hail that could annihilate said missiles or ground troops. In addition to effectively defending the tank against missile strikes, the "Grapeshot" can be used as a positively horrific weapon against infantry attempting to get up close to the tank. The "Grapeshot" has a maximum effective range of 50 meters and all four charges can be used in one melee round.

It is also fitted with NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) protection equipment. All equipment is also hardened against EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse).

Fire Control and Observation
The KAF-90E has the 1A4GT-2 integrated fire control system (IFCS) which is automatic but with manual override for the commander. The IFCS contains the gunner's 1A43-2 day fire control system, gunner's TO1-KO1 thermal imaging sight which has a target identification range of 1.2 km to 1.5 km and commander's PERI-R 17 A3 sight.

The gunner's 1A43-2 day FCS comprises of an EMES 15B dual magnification stabilised primary sight with: a missile guidance channel, a thermal channel, and a CE628 laser rangefinder, 2E42-4 armament stabiliser, 1V528 ballistic computer, and DVE-BS wind gauge.

The rangefinder can provide up to three range values in four seconds. The range data is transmitted to the fire control computer and is used to calculate the firing algorithms. Also, because the laser rangefinder is integrated into the gunner's primary sight, the gunner can read the digital range measurement directly. The maximum range of the laser rangefinder is less than 10,000m with accuracy to within 20m.

The commander's station has an independent periscope, a PERI-R 17 A3 from STN Atlas Elektronik and Zeiss Optronik GmbH. The PERI-R 17 A3 is a stabilised panoramic periscope sight for day/night observation and target identification, and it provides an all round view with a traverse of 360°. The thermal image from the commander's periscope is displayed on a monitor. The PERI-R17 A3 can also be used for weapon firing as it is slaved into the tank's fire control system. The image from the gunner's thermal sight can also be transmitted to the commander's PERI-R 17 periscope so the commander can switch the gunner's video image to the commander's monitor. This enables the commander and the gunner to have access to the same field of view of the combat range. The system has identification ranges of 900m (day) and 800m (night).

The driver is equipped with a TVN-5 infrared night viewer.

The command and fire control procedure known as first echo selection is used for laser rangefinding for anti-helicopter operations. The principal weapon uses electronic firing to reduce reaction times.

Propulsion
The KAF-90E has an 1800 horsepower turbocharged engine. The tank can carry up to 2,200 liters of fuel in the main fuel tanks and fuel drums.

The tank is provided with a snorkel for deep fording and can ford 5 meters of water with equipment which can be deployed in 20 minutes.

The mechanical transmission includes primary reduction gear, two planetary final gearboxes and two planetary final drives. The running gear features torsion bar suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers at 1, 2 and 6 road wheel stations and tracks with rubber-metallic pin hinges.

Support Systems
The E-WNA electrical weapon system provides the following advantages: 1) the turret has no pressurised hydraulic fluid, 2) lower noise level and lower power consumption and heat generation, 3) improved reliability and lower maintenance and service requirements, 4) saving in operating costs and 5) good long term storage properties.

The crew compartment is equipped with a fire and explosion detection and suppression system. A fireproof bulkhead separates the fighting compartment from the engine compartment at the rear of the vehicle.

Navigation Systems
The KAF-90E is equipped with a land navigation system. The hybrid navigation system consists of a Global Positioning System (GPS) and an inertial navigation system.

Other
The KAF-90E is provided with an air-conditioning system. It can also be equipped with the Mobile Camouflage System and KMT-6 mine-clearing system. There are also two miniature sensor "arms" equipped with normal, infrared, and night vision cameras that allow the crew to see over hills and around corners.

Price: $7.5 million USD; $7 million USD for APTO members

It's BTR-94, confirmed.

This MBT can paste his Werewolf:
T-80UM5:
A further development of the T-80UM4, with an electro-thermal 135mm gun and a coaxial 40mm autocannon for killing APC's. It is pretty much immune to anything fired from 2km or farther away, and is protected from tandem warheads due to kaktus ERA. Improvements over T-80UM4, and the Shtora-2 jamming system. include a coaxial 40mm autocannon, and an electro-thermal 135mm gun.
http://www.bulba.eu.org/mil/free/t80/t84u(3).jpg
http://www.bulba.eu.org/mil/free/t80/t84u(4).jpg

The T-80UM5 armament includes an electro-thermal 135mm gun, stabilized in two axes and fitted with a thermal sleeve. It hits with the force of a 155mm gun, and can destroy an M1A2 at 4km. The gun tube can be replaced without dismantling inside the turret. The gun can fire a variety of ammunition including APDS (Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot), HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank), HE-FRAG (High Explosive Fragmentation) as well as shrapnel projectiles with time fuses.

The 135mm gun can also fire the AT-17 Slicer anti-tank guided missile system. The range of the missile is 100 - 6,000 m and takes 14.7 sec to reach maximum range. The system is intended to engage tanks fitted with ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) as well as low-flying air targets such as helicopters, at a range of up to 7 km. The missile system fires either the 9M119 or 9M119M missiles which have semi-automatic laser beamriding guidance and a hollow charge warhead. Missile weight is 28.4 kg. The guns 15 rpm automatic loader will feed both ordnance and missiles.

A 40mm 2A76 autocannon has been installed to allow quick engagement of other armored fighting vehicles. Ammunition load is 500 AP (Armour-Piercing) or HE-FRAG rounds. Rate of fire is more than 300 rounds/min and range is 1,500 to 2,000m.

There are 12 Kornet ATGM's towards the rear of the turret. Kornet is a laser guided ATGM with a range of over 5km that easily penetrates the amror of the M1A2 or similar tanks with its 1200mm penetration.

Also fitted is a coaxial 7.62 mm PKT machine gun and a 12.7 mm air defense machine gun. A 5.45 mm AKS-74 assault rifle is carried on a storage rack.

Armor:

The T-80UM5 tank is protected by both Chobham armor and 3rd generation ERA (kaktus). This allows it to absorb hits from 120 or 125mm guns (except sabot or HEAT at close ranges), as well as from a good deal of missiles. Kaktus also protects it from tandem warheads.

The T-80UM5 is fitted with the Shtora-2. This system includes infrared jammer, laser jammer, laser warning system with four laser warning receivers, grenade discharging system which produces an aerosol screen and a computerized control system.
It is also fitted with NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) protection equipment.

T-80UM5 is fitted with Arena.

The Bisonic ARENA system, the first available DAS-system, was analysed by TNO-PML in collaboration with TNO-FEL. This systems detects an incoming anti-tank missile and reacts by throwing a cassette containing explosives and fragments towards the missile. Upon detonation of the cassette, the fragments interact with the missile, such that its effectiveness decreases substantially.

Both testings of the effectiveness of the fragments and computer simulation of the suite of events- detection, intercept and residual penetration capability- were performed.

Wow.

DT and NE (And New Genoa), you guys sure know how to make tanks.
(And really long write ups.).

This is gonna be a hard choice.
The KAF-90E offers better weapon systems, and some very useful gadgets, and seems well protected.

But DT seems to have a cheaper tank, and with the options for some kickin' electronics to even the odds.

Gimme some time to think about this.
06-10-2003, 15:46
40mm autocannon (which is coaxial on T-80UM5) is a good way to kill off APC's, no?

Oh yeah if you opt to buy the fire control system, well replace the Kornets with Khrizantema-3's, which are fire-and-forget radar guided missiles with a range of 6km (they recieve an update from the tank about halfway on if theyre on course or not).
