F-32 'Python' - New Fighter

05-10-2003, 14:48
-------------****UPDATE-------------------

Muir Aviation is designing a new fighter to replace the F-35, and TA-13 in Air to Air Fighting. We are panning to give this project a decent amount of cash to get it going.

The F-32

As you can see in the picture, it has forwards swept wings, and looks a lot like the F-35 JSF. The F-35 has a SVTOL capability, and utilises revolutionary technology, and uses the Lift Fan, a new way to introduce SVTOL to an airframe.

Anther aircraft that uses forward sept wings is the S-37 'Berkut', a dynamic new Eastern Block fighter. The height of Russian technology, it demonstrates great maneuverability in using forward swept wings. This makes it a great fighter.

Using SVTOL and Forward Swept wings together is revolutionary, and with its sleek shape, we hope the F-32 Python will lead the way, in the future.

Also, designed to be built cheaply, quickly and with easy maintenance in the front of the mind, it may come close to being as cheap as the F-35, but better.

Also incorporates Thrust Vectoring technology, adding maneuverability and agility for dogfights, close to ground flying and evasion. This technology has been used in such fighter as the F-22 and some of the modern russian fighters such as the Su-37 and others in the Su series.

When both of our aircraft research projects finish, the United Socialist States of Zvarinograd proposes a contest to determine which of our aircraft is more manueverable.

OOC:
:D

My research project reminded you to create your own, didn't it?

Yeh

I saw the body, thought "Ah, the S-37 without the wonky wings.....BUT WAIT!!!"

Then I got piccing.

OOC-I'm not sure about that... I remember him toying with the idea of a forward swept wing fighter when I opened my F-109 thread. Maybe it was both. Anyway, nice fighter.

Should Freedom Country require it, the Dominion of Kotterdam's aeronautical engineers would be happy to share their experience in designing both conventional and entirely VTOL aircraft incorporating forward-swept wings. As both the F-72 and the AV-19 incorporate this form of wing, our experience in the field may prove useful to your engineers.

Earlier, before the announcement of the competition between Zvarinograd's and Freedom Country's development projects.

"Premier!"

A bald person holding a clipboard on one hand runs past the entryway to Premier Zvarinsky's room and to the front of the desk. The Premier swivels his ergonomic seat facing towards him.

"Yes, Valkov?"

"We have recieved word that Freedom Country, the same nation which provided us part of the research funding has started work on his own forward swept wing air superiority fighter."

"Let them. Simply increase the manueverability and speed even more in our fighter."

"But sir, the frame can not take that abuse, it might break in mid-flight!"

"Find a way. Create a new alloy. Modify the UD-CCM CMT composite armour. I will not be denied the world's most manueverable fighter, your life depends on the success of this program. If you fail, a firing squadron will be waiting downstairs." Zvarinsky hands the poor man a red envelope, signifying the call of the Premier to "do or die".

Valkov gulps, sweating a little, and takes the envelope.

"Dah, premier."

Thanks for the comments guys.

And isnt designed to be the most maneuverable.

What do you guys think of slamming Thrust Vectoring onto it?

If the physics allow, go for it.

An overheard quote from a aeronautical engineer:
"If you want maneuverability, you want long, straight wings. Of course it doesn't help speed, but, believe it or not, a USAF F-16 Fighting Falcon is less maneuveuverable than the USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II."
05-10-2003, 19:25
I thought forward swept wings were the most maneuverable?
United Elias

:? if your theory was correct the U-2 would be the most maouverble aircraft in the world.

05-10-2003, 19:26
Which it isnt.

The Su-37 is the most maneuverable, i think, adn it has swept back wings.
05-10-2003, 19:29
Any other suggestions?
05-10-2003, 19:36
Maneuverability is how fast a plane can turn, not how fast it goes versus how fast it turns.. According to The Great Book of Modern Warplanes, an A-10 can pull of a 3.5g turn in a 2,700 ft turning radius, while a non-afterburning F-16 can pull of a 3.5g turn in a 5,390 ft turning radius.
05-10-2003, 19:38
Hmmmm

But main bulk size makes a difference.

The wider and straighter the wings doesnt mean its maneuverable.

And forward swept wings are DESIGNED for low speed maneuverability.
05-10-2003, 19:51
Any more thoughts?

I'll give you a million dollars in funding because your nation was founded on my birthday.

wow

Nice coincidence.

I wonder how many were created on September 10th.

I could help you with the development, I've created a few planes of my own.

all good

except the S-37 is only a prototype, the real name is SU-47

and that seems to be the same pic as on Jimmy the Great's aircraft thread, what a coincidence
05-10-2003, 20:13
We have set out the basic aerodynamics, engines, FCU, Radar but still need to touchh up on some things, and build the damn thing.

We want a cheap, easy and quick way to build it, to minimize cost.

Eh?

I MADE THAT PIC ON MY OWN.

I USED PAINT, A F-35 PIC, THE BLACK AND WHITE PLAN OFF THE S-37 AND COPY AND PASTED EM TOGETHER.

Wanna see the link?

I made the pic by myself.

I think he means the berkut pic, which is hardly suprising as there less than 10 decent ones about, i mean it's worse than the bloody JF17 (mt next project when i can be bothered, better abilities than the F16 at less than half the price and thats the RL one think what mien will be like :D ).

Anyway i ssume you are wanting soemthing from the CFES MK4000 series perhaps the MK4010 (slightly more powerful than the MK4005 but more conctration on the air to air mode and maybe soem of the stealthy abilities of the MK4015 from the JTB).

Wha?

And about the Berkut pic, I mant seeling it it is a RL pic, so I can use it.

See your MRF thread, the Mk4005 is the radar system i supplied for it. I tend to develope familys of similar systems.

Yes there is nothing wrong with using Rl pics, i mean i've been seeing that berkut pic since i started here in may :)

Sure Crookfur.

I might add some info ad pics later.

You mean you want your ego to hurt? Come on, it's a good design, I have to admit. Even if it is competition in the air superiority fighter buisiness.

Its done.
