Should NG adopt a more pacifistic view?

Well, I've been thinking, should NG stray away from being a major military threat and become the negotiater?

This wouldn't involve a total pacification, just an adoption of using much more diplomacy than force. Your thoughts?

It might reward you moralistically and possibly economically, but fail in strength at a later point in your country's life and people will begin assaulting you. Remember, world peace is never possible and there will always be blantant imperialism.

NG is becoming tired of war and death and pain. Yes, our standing military would remain the same, but would not need to be deployed often.

Although we still go with the Military First policy, we are now changing our diplomatic policies to a pacifist-side. We have found that peace is important, in the forseenable future.

And what are the benefits of remaining a world power and having men and women die? We are a nation that cherishes its people and their lives!

being a pacifist would at least, allow the Earth to survive.

The Earth cannot just be destroyed by the nuclear weapons stockpiles by most rogue nations.

Cherish and celebrate our earth and lives, instead of making a guarentee of out death.

Well, we wouldn't be complete pacifists as stated, we would use diplomacy to solve problems, not military might. Our military would remain the same and would be used only as a mostly defensive force.

I think that we should always strive for peace, but its not always gonna work, and when it doesnt, we arent gonna be caught with our pants down, we will sweep the field and call it a day

OOC: YES! That way it's easier when my other nation decides to annex you. And hell no, I'm not telling which it is, but it isn't one of the big annex-happy nations like Melkor.

Yes, you should. A defensive-oriented military is better at defense, which would help your nation should it ever be attacked.

As long as you don't decrease your military.
