PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION
Tilsitsin City, Tilsitsin
In a shocking annoncement today, Tilsitsin Metro Police Chief Darton Clay has announced that Tilsitsinian Vice President Robert Richland and his wife Rebecca have been confirmed dead in an early morning attack on the vice president's limosine while enroute to the presidential complex. Also killed in the attack were four metro police officers and seven internal security officers, all assigned to protect the vice president.
Although initial information is still sketchy, Chief Clay has confirmed that there were at least six attackers involved, and he has also confirmed that an SRMAMS antitank missile system (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73639&highlight=) was used in the attack in which two vehicles were totally destroyed, one of which carried the vice president and his wife.
Official comments from the president are expected soon, as the only other information coming from Chief Clay has been that as of 8pm this evening, a curfew will come into effect and certain other "security measures" will be implemented. The exact location of the president is not known at this time, but the chief has noted that the president "is in a secure location".
