Zvarinograd

On a cold day nearby Valkonezh's outskirts, a lone piece of artillery makes it's way past the icy snow landscape, barren save for a crowd of onlookers. It moves with astonishing speed for it's size and weight. Suddenly, it stops. A long snow packed barrel rises, shrugging it's white cover, aiming. Ten thousand military personnel, as well as Premier Zvarinsky himself, watch in hopes for the test to be a success. Then, an earth shaking explosion much like the crack of several lightning bolts united as one, sends a shell hurdling towards a model ship built on the nearby sea. The target is made like a regular Iowa class battleship without any arnaments and equipment. Several moments pass, and the shell falls unto mark. The ship takes a direct hit and the sheer force of the blast makes the battleship split into two, sinking. Yet it is not over. Two M109A6 Paladins at the other end of the sea set up for counter-battery fire, the attacker takes action and moves quickly towards another location. The crowd moves back as munitions fired are live. Soon, the bombardment ends, the artillery remains unscathed, having reached a safer location as the ECM 5446 active radar jammer blinded enemy fire. All those who are present rejoice, a new weapon proves itself to the world.
The United Socialist States of Zvarinograd would like to present the AZS-1 heavy self-propelled artillery. Based on the Kondensator 2P, this massive gun is now capable of the modern battlefield. It's firepower is outshined by the fact that it is capable of speeds unimaginable by it's size and weight. Using super lightweight composite armour and advanced aerodynamic design as well as a nuclear powered electrical engine, it can reach speeds up to 38 mph (61 kph), more than that of the M109A6 Paladin. We would also like to thank all those who supported the research project (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76055) as well as Terepa for giving us the designs to the Kondensator 2P (Special thanks to Vanir, who provided research information that boosted our schedule by a few years). All those who helped, you are given your due rewards. We will be selling the AZS-1, but in limited amounts, as a small country such as ours can not readily mass produce this weapon.
