I started as a space tech nation. My buisness that was funded by some rich country (sorry for not remembering your name off the top of my head) made a killing in profits. I produced my own navy and army with the profits.

Your idea of a space vessel might be why you don't see the point. Let's replace flashlights with, (In my case), 9 foot wide massdrivers, or railguns, or something like that, and big metal floaties with, uhh, really big heavily armed and armored space vessels.
