We are beginning construction of the largest undertaking in Eurydian history. Given the technical name “Arms Orbital”, it will envelope the whole of Eurydice. It is expected to take 200-210 years to complete (OOC: I'd say we'd be done around christmas RL.) When it is completed, it will be a staging ground for all Eurydian war vessels. Its primary function is defensive however, as it will be a massive shield against planetary bombardment or invasion. It is expected that most of the Arms Orbital will be a massive power generator for an energy based shield system. the actual metallic part of the Arms Orbital will not cover the whole of Eurydice (Shown in the picture below.) The Arms Orbital will also be armed with a vast array of defensive weaponry. To be more specific so early in the construction period would be impossible. Suffice to say that more information will be provided as the Arms Orbital is completed.

Also, the name "Arms Orbital" is a technical reference, it is more commonly referred to as “Asgard.”

No... the metallic part will basically be the "frame" for the shielding. The shielding itself will be energy based... at least I hope so. I'll have to inquire as to whether I can actually encircle my planet in an energy barrier. Mind you... the planet I am on is not very large... It would still take a lot of energy to run.

The "Curtain" has been renamed the "Arms Orbital" for now.

this is not a *bump*

*bump* for exposure... and so it doesn't sink to deep.

As we are running short of materials with which to build Asgard... two new mining colonies have been set up in 47 UM. Called M4 and M5, they will begin supplying the Arms Orbital within 6 months.

The mining stations have been completed and a steady supply of materials is reaching Asgard once more.

We are currently building an advanced E.I. system that will help run Asgard. It will work in conjunction with our planets super computer... and be able to run every ships system, and interact with Asgard crew members with ease. In addition to those tasks, it will assist in the Asgard Defensive Weapon "Desolid" (OOC:A computer virus of epic proportions... 30 years in the making.)

This is truly another "Grand Undertaking," But Eurydian enginuity and brilliance will prevail in the end.

Blademasters would gladly donate one of our Sentient AI programs (completely blanked of course) if you need it. We will alo send 2 million construction Avatars to assit you in the construction.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. The A.I. system would help us learn how to construct our own A.I. For you see... if we don't build it ourselves, we'll be dependent on others for technology. Again, we will accept your A.I. with the upmost gratitude and hope it speeds us along in our endeavor.

The E.I. system has been basically completed. The next 20 years of this project will be devoted to working out all flaws and integrating systems needed to process over a trillion functions per second while interacting with the personnel on Asgard.

E.I. tests and modifications are coming along smoothly, and will continue to do so as long as no one bumps into anything.

The republic is developing a "NonSpace Dampening Field" to stop enemy vessels from Jumping into Eurydian orbit, or within Asgard itself. this field is expected to surround Eurydice with an effective dampening range of 2.5 million kilometers.

Yes, our ships will also be effected by this dampening field.

I have three items to discuss, first:
We currently have plasma shielding technology that would easily work on the scale you propose. Tell me if you would like me to send scientists and engineers over to help you set up the shield, power sources, etc.
second:
For primarily defensive purposes, we have developed "MAC" guns.
OOC: think sorta like Halo but different.
These guns could be attached to main points on your station to provide defense against the larger classes of spacecraft.

speaking of spacecraft, I would like to know the specs of the docking areas. Our brand new Lithos Class Command Carrier currently only has one dock; ours. If you were to build large docking stations we would be very happy to help you in future endavors.

We have our defenses well in hand. Shielding, Weapons, Viruses, and the Dampening Field; all are progressing smoothly.


However, we always welcome assistance in the construction of Asgard. You may send scientists and/or workers to help. Your assistance will not be forgotten.

Our docking systems are very flexible, and can change in length and width very easily. I'm sure your vessels could attach to Asgard with relative ease. Still, if you wish to send some people to give us exact paramiters as to your ship configurations and the like, feel free to do so.

Well it would... but... I'm spending an enormous amount of time building it. I'm spending only a portion of my budget on it, and its not a large portion. But yes, it is draining the coffers of the Republic slowly.
