The Colony (Open RP)

The planetary surverying team made a quick flyby of the target area, letting the Sensor Pods do the work they were designed for. A split second later a complete and highly detailed geographic map was recieved in the orbiting Galileo class exploration vessel. Their job done the surveyors turned their Hog Utility ship toward the heavens and returned to their mothership.

An hour later the Colony Pod descended from the stratosphere at incredible speed. Less than a kilometer away from the surface it suddenly decelerated, lowering its speed enough to make a soft landing in the immense clearing directly below. The pod was quite small, only 6 meters in diameter. Upon landing it unleased a dozen small robots, who in turn released hundreds of nanorobots in their specified area. The Pod's AI brillantly orchestrated every move made, and in a matter of minutes a base camp large enough to house more twenty colonists, complete with a medical bay and motor pool, was erected. The nanobots, with their jobs complete, returned into the innumerable bays on the robots, who then entered a small shelter recently built. The original colony pod, which was now firmly anchored into the ground and protected by a shield generator, activated the reactor and provided the base with MegaWatts' of safe Quantum power. The few automated defence turrets were armed, and their own Protect/Defend AI's were iniated.

Moving swiftly above the canopy of the tropical planet came the two Chariot Dropships, one carrying the eigthteen colonists and the other their food supplies, personal weapons and three Pathfinder Recon Droids.

Two hours later they were completely settled in, and work began in greenhouse, meanwhile two pathfinders went out on a Seek/Find mission.

One of the droids, flapping its insectlike wings at full speed soon picked up a life source on its scanners. It moved in close, relaying a live visual feed to the encampments AI core.

(ooc: I am looking for someone to RP as who we find, any type of creature is welcomed. You do not have to be future tech.)

This is very far from earth.

the Crescent Harmony slipped into realspace, several hundred thousand kilometers from the Skapunk colony. The large, sleek silver ship fired thrusters, moving upwards and into high orbit. Moments later, the Sekhmet class swift cruiser Solar Strike and a Stellar Dream class cruiser, the Wahiri, slipped into view, joining the Crescent Harmony.

Within minutes, shuttles were headed towards the surface.

The sensors on board the SIF Colombus picked up the West Coral Sea ships as soon as they entered real space.

"Ah, I see our friends have finally arrived. Remind me to send over a bottle of champagne when they get their colony setup", said the Colony's Governor John Mills.

"Skapunk ships in high orbit." Sensors reported. "Otherwise, IR detection, spectroscopes, and all other instruments register clear. Colony on the surface; seems they have begun setting up already."
the Captain smiled. "Bring them some of our tropical fruits later; i heard they liked those things almost as much as they love our women."
The bridge crew laughed.

meanwhile, on the surface, the colony had been set up as prefab units were quickly set up and put into place.

"Heller, is the survey complete?", asked Miller.

"Yeah, its all done, I am awaiting the results right now. I was just about to transmit our status report, that is if it is okay with you Governor.", responded Heller.

"Steve, send the damn thing already. Not like it told us anything we didn't already know."

Status Report: Mission day 1
Mission Summary Plans are well ahead of schedule. Colony was setup before the West Coral Sea ships even arrived in the system. Scattered contacts of already categorized animal life. Abundant foliage and plant life apparent, which correlates completely with pre-landing survey reports. No unusual activity. Reactor running at 20% power output.
