Windspear Armed Forces (I'm Buying!)

28-09-2003, 11:58
The Armed Republic of Windspear is looking to purchase a large amount of military equipment for use in our army. We are interested in all aspects of military combat, and will purchase land, air, or sea weaponry.

Military Budget:

$28,000 MCI x 27% Taxes = $7560
$7560 x 31,000,000 (My Working Population) = $234360000000
$234360000000 x 8% (My Military Armoury Budget) = $18748800000

OOC: Before I go on I'm goig to have to ask what's gone wrong, that budget looks way too high.

Its way too high, use this http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=Windspear&defenseprovided=1&defense=20&militarybudget=1 Allways when you acces it it calculates those numbers. Your military budget is 95,365,920,000 $

You also need to consider that acquisitions is only one part of the military budget. Most of it should go to maintenance, training, personnel, etc.

The same way he got a bomber with 16 engines that carries more than 24 C-130s in bombs, by making it up.

One could also ask what the circumstances are that would allow him to profitably sell them for 90% off...

I've got the Brooklyn bridge for sale...200 million...cash upfront. I also have some nice beachfront property in Kansas I'm selling on the cheap.

For God's sake, Jono Land, admit it! ResiCorp dissolved all of your nation, you retreated your population into GeForce, you have nothing left! NOTHING! YOU CAN'T SELL B-2'S RIGHT AFTER YOUR COUNTRY WAS DESTROYED AND YOUR POPULATION HAD RETREATED!!!

Huff... Puff...

For those who don't know, ResiCorp (I think) dropped some kind of stuff that dissolves everything non-organic (as in everything but humans) and his people dashed into GeForce's nation. How he's able to build a giant airplane and sell B-2's at an ungodly cheap price, when a September nation, is beyond me.

We already have. In total 20% of our national budget goes towards the military. 8% towards training of troops, 3% towards maintenance, and 9% towards purchases.

OOC-Your specs don't tell us the range, accuracy, etc. That's what counts when it comes to firearms.
28-09-2003, 14:09
I should also say that we are a modern tech nation, set 15 years in the future max.
28-09-2003, 14:09
OOC- my specs for all the firearms but the pistol tell the range, because the website did not list range for the pistol. As for the accuracy, I don't think their is any way to quantify as a number the accuracy of a gun.

OOC-Accuracy is usually measured in MOA, or just give us a statistic, like, can hit within 3inch circle at 20 yds, or something along that line.

OOC: Okay, I'm not an expert on guns, I can identify them, give you basics like what size of bullet, so does anyone know the "MOA" or some other type of figure for the AK-47, the Skorpion vz 61, or the GSh-18?

OOC: Minute of Angle, a mathematical term that's useful in determining rifle/bullet accuracy. When used as a military term, it represents 1" at 100m, 2" at 200m and so on. So 3 MOA at 300 meters means 9 inches off mark at 300m. Pretty wide miss.
28-09-2003, 14:35
Okay, but does anyone have these figures for the guns I sell?

That's not quite how MOA works. MOA is a measurment of the grouping, as accuracy is really based on consistency. 3 MOA means that at 300 yards (not meters), a grouping of 3-5 shots can be covered by a 9" diameter circle. If the weapon is properly sighted and aimed, however, that means that it is unlikely for it to be much more than 4.5" off target.
