Funeral for Ge'VeraH. All Welcome.

28-09-2003, 07:45
OOC: See Guerrilla War (Serious RP) thread for background information.
IC: Earlier today it was announced that General Ernesto Ge'VeraH, Hero of the Revolution and beloved rolemodel, is dead. As many of you know Ge'VeraH left Talaax a year ago to spread the revolution to other nations through guerrilla warfare. Unfortunetly his mission failed. It has not been announced where Ge'VeraH died or where his body is.
The following speech was made by President Paris earlier today.
Paris: Friends, I come before you today to announce some very sad news. Our beloved General Ge'VeraH is dead. He was killed two weeks ago while fighting a guerrilla war in a currently unnamed nation. His death has been confirmed by the only six survivors of his guerrilla mission. All of the survivors have been named Hero of the Revolution. Ge'VeraH and several of his companions have also been given that title.
Public funeral services will be held for three days from September 30th to October 2nd. A full schedule will be given at the end of this speech. In conjunction with the funeral services the government has announced one week of national mourning. Ge'VeraH's body, the location of which is unknown, will not be present.
This is a sad time for our nation, friends, but we must be strong. This will no doubt change our nation. I leave you now with Ernesto's own words, 'I embrace you with all my revolutionary fervor'. Thank you.
The itinerary of events for the funeral are as follows:
September 30th: - Morning mass
- Speech by H. Villi'jas, close friend of Ge'VeraH
- Candle light vigil 11pm - 1 am
October 1st: - Eulegy by Ricardo Rojo, close friend of Ge'VeraH
- Procession of the mourning, to Grand Cathedral through Talaaxia
- Candle light vigil 11pm - 1am

October 2nd - Afternoon Mass/Wake
- Speech by Jean Paris, close friend of Ge'VeraH
- Summary of Ge'VeraH's life
- Procession of the mourning from Grand Cathedral to Ge'VeraH's tomb on Revolution Plaza in Talaaxia
- Candle light vigil 10pm - 1am

All nations are welcome to send citizens or delegates to attend. Delegates and citizens of socialist nations are especially welcome.

BUMP. This is an RP so I'd like people to be involved.
28-09-2003, 16:01
TIASD fighter wing 3 swoop low over the funeral one breaking of early but instead of pulling up he flys towards the funeral group firing cannon and dropping 4 napalm bombs...goodnight.
28-09-2003, 16:04
After using our Strategic Ignore Initiative satellite son the godmodish armed forces of TIASD, we will send diplomats to the ceremony.
[OOC:but i don't have time to RP much]
28-09-2003, 16:07
I don't like to do this, but that action is IGNORED TIASD.
28-09-2003, 16:09
ignored ahhh thats no fun...cant handle a little bit of warfare?
28-09-2003, 16:12
I could crush you quite readily, but the reason I'm ignoring you is because this is a non-violent RP and also your aircraft can't just appear over the Talaaxian capital without being intercepted by the Talaaxian airforce. Your aircraft would have been shot down hundreds of miles from where the funeral is.
28-09-2003, 16:19
you obviosuly dont know my aircraft...if you where at all involoved in the highly rated RP between Melkor and New Genoa you will see that my aircraft are far the most superior in the world and cannot be easily detected and fly extremely fast with high range and heavy weapons.
28-09-2003, 16:21
Would you care to post specifications for these aircraft?
EDIT: It doesn't really matter though. This thread will not be turned into a war or any other violent acts.
28-09-2003, 16:32
BUMP. I encourage everyone to read at least the first and last pages of the "Guerrilla War ( Serious RP )" thread to get some background information.
28-09-2003, 19:49
BUMP Anyone going to participate? I've got this all planned out and I don't want all that work to go to waste.
28-09-2003, 23:47
BUMP again
29-09-2003, 20:34
BUMP. Is it that no one wants to participate in the RP or do you all just like avoiding my threads?
30-09-2003, 20:41
Due to a huge lack in participation this RP has been closed. I will RP future events ( this is part of a chain of planned RP ) as though this happened though.

OOC: Oh sure, just as I'm about to work up a post you close the RP. Sorry, I just love irony of it.
30-09-2003, 20:50
Well if you'd like me to continue with the RP I can. It's not much trouble, I have the time.
30-09-2003, 20:51
We wish to send a wing of three MA-10 Fighter, not to napalm the place (coughTIASDcough) but to show that we feel sorry for the dead soul, General Ernesto Ge'VeraH.

OOC: It's your choice. My Characters are not very good in social situations so I don't know how well it could turn out.

I look foward to the next installment of this and plan on participating, regardless of what happens here. Heh.
30-09-2003, 20:54
OOC: RP is back on now. I've changed my mind. I've been doing this all day.

IC: You're welcome to send your fighters, we trust that they will be unarmed, as any attack on the area of the funeral would kill thousands of people. The planned events will take begin in one hour.
30-09-2003, 20:57
The unarmed, heavily fuelled MA-10's are inbound, and will fly over the ceremony, flip over it and then pass by again.

At the same time the following message is sent to the Talaaxian Government

<Message>

Transmittion to Talaax Government.

"This is the comm officer of Padmasan Dropship 109. The dropship will be entering your airspace with full armed fighter escort in about 10 minutes. We are sorry, but the gunboats are needed. Grand General Xok, and Ambassador Haruat Kreegsbrock along with a contigent of 21 armed guards will be attending. All but 9 guards will stay with the dropship, but as Padmasa has recent recieved several terrorist threats, the lords must have at least several guards. Again we appologize, and have jsut under an hour before arrival to work any of your governments wishes in, up to the fighters stopping when they enter your airspace. Reply quickly."

The comm officer sat and waited while Haruat stood over him. Haruat wore full military dress uniform complete with sword. In the back 21 men in powered armor sat hunched over their weapons reviewing imigaes and maps of the funeral site. Xok simply cleaned his rifle.

We welcome your delegates to our nation. The ceremonies will take place in the Gradn Cathedral in Central Talaaxia. We will send transport and escort to meet your delegates at Talaaxia Airport, from there they can choose to be transported directly to the Cathedral or stop by their hotel. We have arranged for four connected rooms to be arranged for them. We regret however that Talaaxian hotels are not as luxurious as the hotels you may be used to.
End Message
OOC2: Talaaxian hotels are the equivilant of an American three star hotel.

The C-145 landed, and taxied over to the waiting limousines. As the engines wound down, The single door opened, and steps extended, bettraying the gold plated interior with its plush carpets and luxruios styling. Two men in black suits with subtel bulges under their shoulders betraying sidearms steppd out, and after surveying the airport, continued down the steps.

Another two men followed, before a tall man dressed in a smart designer suit, wth an expensive leather attache case stepped intot he sunlight blinking a little.

Prince Michael walked down the steps and was ushered into the waiting cars by teh RPU agents assigned toe protect him.

"Driver, take us to our hotel, i must shower before attending the funeral" he said, watching the buildings of Talaax roll past.

"We are on our way, ETA 6 minutes. Upon arrival please provide maps of the hotel and city. Security for the general and ambassador is paramount. [Garbled] Hmmm, Lord Xok requests a detailed list of any known residents from The Republic of Hope of the Divine."

OOC: Discription of transports would help.

OOC: Same as McLeod, official limousines with TIS drivers.

OOC: Okay, that's all I needed. For a better discription of Xok, please click the link that will be at the bottom of this post.

IC:

The dropship dropped with a slight creak onto it's rarely used landing gear and sat motionless for a moment while a limousine glided slowly toward it. Nine massive gunboats circled one last time and each shot a single round from thier guns, tipped to the side and flew back toward Padmasa.

The back hatch of the dropship rose and the ship vomited men in all black powered armor. The quickly sorrounded the Dropship while 4 took off a trot to intercept the limousine and make sure the driver was not armed and everything was as it should be.

A man in full armor who towered over everyone suddenly stepped out of the back hatch and, turned to wait for whoever was coming next. He wore an almost mystic looking suit of armor and black cape. The man who stepped off next to him wore a black leather uniform, a red cape, and had his breast so covered with medals that it was suprising that he could stand up straight. At his belt there was a Hammer 5 and a chainsword in it's sheath. He was handsome in a hawkish way, even with the white hair.

"Well, Xok. Shall we go... Why do you insist on being that armed anyway? I thought we were going to pay our respects to a dead leader, not fight a war!"

"Bah, the day I don't go into every situation armed will be the day I get killed. Besides the IF-7 is for you, just in case."

"Ah. I had wondered."

The two stood for another moment and then headed off to the limo. Both got inside, with a great deal of difficulty in Xok's case, and were followed by one of the soldiers. As the limo drove off, 8 men in powered armor formed up around it and jogged next two it at a crisp 48 kph.

"Driver, take us directly to the ceremony."

OOC: Okay, firstly I suggest you read Xok's bio. It will help you a lot. Nextly, the men are borrowed from Inbrocks Blades, if you want their stats. Finially, all stats are on the storefront.

Grand Cathedral, Talaaxia
An empty, closed coffin lay motionless where the normal alter would have been. All around the coffin were flowers of various sorts and an honour guard of four Talaaxian soldiers in full dress uniform. Hanging behind the coffin was a large poster stretching all the way from the 25 meter cieling to the floor.
http://www.sangfroid.com/cuba/che-painting.jpg (The poster)
The Grand Hall was filled with over 200,000 Talaaxian citizens, all packed in like sardines. Out side the Grand Hall and the Cathedral itself were hundreds of thousands more, waiting for their chance to pay their final respects.
The room fell silent except for scattered sobs as the Cardinal of the Talaaxian Catholic Church stepped out from one of the Cathedral's various anterooms and onto the central alter space. He stepped up to the podium and cleared his throat as the microphone turned on.
Cardinal: ( Being broadcast on radio, television and speakers outside the Cathedral ) Comrades, thank you all for coming. We are here for the next three days to pay final respects to one of the greatest men in Talaaxian history. Comrade Ge'VeraH was a devoted socialist, a kind and intelligent man and an example for us all to follow. I now ask everyone to join me in celebrating mass.
The Cardinal then stepped down from the podium and over the course of the next hour preformed a traditional mass. After the mass it was announced that later that day a good friend of Ge'VeraH would eulagize him and a reminder was given about the candle light vigil later that night.

Revolution Plaza, Talaaxia - News Coverage of Day Two
The day before had passed without incident. The speech by H. Villi'jas had been recieved warmly and the nationwide candle light vigil was a success. Photos released from the Talaaxian Space Agency show Talaaxian cities lit up almost as bright as usual even though the power had been cut off for two hours, except in vital areas and military compounds. Each citizen had taken a candle and lit it in the street infront of their homes. For two hours millions of candles burned brightly in the night, giving visual evidence of the vast love Talaaxians had for the late General Ge'VeraH. Prayers were said all over the country and the sight of the two million people who had gathered in Revolution Plaza for the vigil had moved President Paris to tears while he led them in prayer.
Today the first of two traditional Processions of the Mourning will travel down Engels Prospect, through Revolution Plaza and down Thorstadt Street to the Grand Cathedral where the second day of the funeral will begin.
A reporter stands facing a camera with his back to the enormous statue of a five pointed star in Revolution Plaza, speaking to the anchormen at the news station.
Reporter: The Procession of the Mourning began just one hour ago about five miles down Engels Prospect. We have been here in Revolution Plaza waiting for it to arrive and it is now arriving here.
The Procession of the Mourning, for any foreigners watching is a parade of those mourning the deceased through his or her home town. The mourners all carry a single white rose and a picture of the deceased through the town to the place where the body lies in state. As we look now down Engels Prospect, we can see the Procession just arriving here.
The camera then pans to the right to look directly down Engels Prospect. All that can be seen is a sea of white roses and photographs, posters and paintings of Ge'VeraH as far as the eye can see down the road. Four almost ten miles citizens stretch out down Engels Prospect. Almost seven and a half million people have shown up for the first Procession of the Mourning and even more are expected to be present for the next day's procession.
OOC: I'll stop there to give our guests a chance to participate in the procession.
