Freedom Country recalls all military forces

26-09-2003, 21:28
Freedom Country today announced that all its military forces would return to their home base.

Its 4 fleets will return to its coasts, adn be up-graded.

We do not know what this is for, but is scheduled to last 3 RL days, and recall all forces, although some Spec Ops and Commando's will be left on missions around the globe.

Thankyou.

The Leader of our country, Robert Muir, is going to give the troops a speech when they return.

It will be a highly guarded moment, one of the highest in history.

Ironically, on the same day, our new leader, Lisa Hunter is due to become our new leader.

In the Terepan Kremlin, Premier Nikita S. Khrushchev II sat in his office, and read the intelligence report. The Terepan KGB surmised that this had something to do with the change of power in the nation. He thought to himself, "If an instability arises, we could take advantage of the situation..." he tapped his pen on his desk, and then said "Comrade Olga, put me through to Naval Command." An attractive secratary said, "Da, Comrade Premier" and pressed a button. Admiral Boris Zyuganov appeared on a flatscreen monitor on the desk. "Comrade Zyuganov, please, dispatch four ships of your discretion to the waters off the capitalist pigs of Freedom Country. Coordinate with General Illych of the army, and fill those ships with as many troops as they can fit, and throw in a few tanks for good measure. Make sure the ships do not enter Freedom Country's waters. This will just be a show of force until further notice." the Premier said. "Da, comrade premier. It will be attended to." The screen went black, and he then said, "Comrade Olga, please, send a simple message to the Propaganda Department telling them to take full advantage of this." She obliged, and typed it into the paper.

The T.N.V. The Communist, the T.N.V. Fidel Castro, both Corvettes, the T.N.V. Leonid Breshnev, and the T.N.V. Mao Zedong, both minesweepers, but packing a punch against surface ships as well, sailed towards the waters off freedom country. The carried 2,000 troops and 12 tanks. Admiral Zyuganov had chosen their more conventional ships rather than their more capable ships due to their having more space for troops inside. The minesweepers had all the non-attached to ship equipment removed to make more room. Once they arrived, and were two kilometers outside Freedom Country waters, they dropped anchor. All the troops got up on the decks of the ships, and fired off an AK-47 magazine each into the air.

The naval ministry released a press release stating that these were routine exercises, and that they had no intention of entering anyone's waters.

On Terepan State TV, news reports told of "Captialist Scum withdrawing their forces into their pitiful borders when seeing of our glorious communist nation."
28-09-2003, 08:31
Freedom Country see's absolutely no threat from Terapa's propoganda.

Unless you didnt notice, we have kicked all the communists out of our country, so we are no longer worried.

Our border positions are strong, 3 fleets sail over our waters, and Patriot missile batteries are posted very often along the lines.

We are in a very good defensive positions, and see nothing of your 'rountine exercises.'
28-09-2003, 14:17
Commodore Nikolai Adrevsky read over the electronic message on his computer screen. He was heading the task force. The message ordered him to order his ships to one kilometer outside Freedom Country's borders, and drop anchor. He walked over to a door, pressed a button, and it slid open onto the bridge. He sat down in a chair, and said "Raise anchor, comrades. Bring us one kilometer closer to the borders of the capitalist pigs." "Dah, Commodore. Our glorious crew is following your orders" said the helmsman. The radio operator forwarded to orders to the other vessels.

OOC: These are meant to be a rapid response force, because my OOC and IC guess is that you are going to start a civil war soon... the current guy in office against the new person coming in. If so, we want to take full advantage of the situation IC. These people are waiting offshore for something to happen. Also, the messages are being aired on television inside Terepa to get them more fanactically devoted to the state.

IC: Admiral Harris was not a happy man, despite the Kingdoms good relations with FC, this heightening of tentions was making people twitchy. Esspecially his intel guys and he hated it when the intel weisels got twitchy (mainly because they keep ringing him up in the middle of the night with thier latest conspiracy theory, or at least they tried to but the bridge command crew had gotten used to "dealing " with them until the morning).

Secondly, some tin pot soviet style nation had placed a small squadron directly in the path of his battle groups planned shortest time route to the regular cross service meeting in FC ports> Admiral Walters would be laughing out loud on hearing that Harris had failed to beat his record.

"Number one, crank up the all band's broadcaster to max and lets give these idiots some 100Db metalica to wake them up".
28-09-2003, 14:49
Aboard the ship everyone cried out in pain as the Metallica blared. "Comrades! The evil capitalist noise! Oww!" Similar cries rang out all over the ships. The Commodore managed to reach the radio, and yelled, "Make it stop! Make it stop! We'll move the ships... we did not realize we were in the way of anyone route! We will sift position by one kilometer to the east to allow you to move in. We are not blockading, we are on a routine exercise!" he yelled.

The Naval Command re-iterates that they are on routine patrols and exercises, and that they have no intention of ever getting any closer than .75 Kilometers from their water borders. The fleet is currently holding position 1 kilometer from the water borders, and has dropped anchor. It would be illogical to attack a nation with only two minesweepers, two corvettes, two-thousand troops, and twelve tanks.

We will compromise. Our ships have been ordered to the original distance out from the borders of 2 Kilometers.
======
Aboard the T.N.V. Fidel Castro, Commodore Nikolai Adrevsky listend as the communications officer told him the new orders. "Tell the other ships in the fleet to follow us. Raise the anchor and head back out, comrades." A series of "Dah, Comrade Commodore" rang out across the bridge, as the four ships turned around and headed out one kilometer, and dropped anchor. They now stood two kilometers from Freedom Country's territorial waters.
28-09-2003, 18:06
One ship, while turning to head away, made its anchor hit a rock while raising. It swung approximately 150m into FC waters.

The FCN Ranger fired an ADCAP torpedo, which, guided manually, streaked through the water. The anchor was 20m from IT waters, when the torpedo hit it, blowing it to pieces, and send waves up to the minesweeper.

You have learned your lesson, now clear off.
28-09-2003, 18:11
OOC: I'm going to ignore that. They were a full kilometer away when they were pulling away. An anchor hitting a rock will not make a 175 foot (that's what the person we bought it from said it was) long minesweeper swing a full kilometer and then another 150 meters. If you are referring to the anchor, again, we were a full kilometer away.

Summary, edited in...
So, you are basically:

A. Saying that hitting a rock would make an anchor (re-reading the post, you were talking about the anchor) swing 1,150 meters.
B. Saying what happens to my stuff when you said the torpedo struck (A.K.A. god-modding)
28-09-2003, 18:33
I didnt say.

I said the torpedo swung round and went TO hit the anchor.

Fine, ignore it, I said, if you read it AGAIN, that one minesweeper had moved a bit close to my waters, within 300 metres. The anchor then swung round when the minesweeper moveink that.d.

So, reth

Aboard the ships, two kilometers out to sea, daily life goes on. Soliders can be seen up on the decks of the ships, in rotation, jogging around, to keep in shape. The crew of the ships clean out guns, polish mirrors, and take swims, being careful not to stray out of the square formed by the four ships. (OOC: They are arranged in a square, with one ship at each corner.) The Commodore sits in his office, waiting for a transmission from the Terepan Kremlin. As of now, his only orders are to wait.

We are gravely concerned with the activity that is going on and want to know what is the reasoning behind these mobilizations are. As we prepare to sign the official peace treaty between our nations we desire that in order to continue our newfound trust we must share to some extent what the reasoning is behind this.

I have kicked all the communists out of MY country, and Terepa here has a problem ith it.

He sent a small task force to loiter off my waters, and is 2 k away.

I have sent a task force to deter him from any funny busines.
28-09-2003, 20:26
OOC: No, that's not why I am doing it. I am doing it because I believe OOC and IC that you will make a civil war between the leaving government and the incoming government, and that is why the troops are being recalled. Terepa's government is hoping to be able to capitalize on the civil war if and when it happens. So, these people are waiting offshore for something to happen. Until then, they're just waiting, and swimming, and cleaning, and jogging around, and I forgot to mention: playing poker!

Also, Freedom Country, could you tell me about the First Fleet, so I know things like what type of ships and how many of them my radar and electronic warfare specialists should pick up?

No civil war.

The reason we recalled all forces was because we had kicked some commies out of our nation. We thought some commie nation would invade us for it, and were preparing ourselves.

You are mistaken.

Nothing is really happening.

And first fleet is composed of:

2 Freedom Class AC's
2 Landing Ships
3 Cruisers
1 Battleship
2 R-500 Deathrain Tomahawk vessels
6 Seal Class Destroyers
4 Ros Class Frigates
6 Delta Class Subs
28-09-2003, 20:39
One Seal Class Destroyer fires 2 Tomahawk missiles into open air, firing upwards. Loaded with no warheads, just fake one, they arch throught the air, before hurtling towards the Terrepan fleet.

They then dive, and hit the water 200m before IT waters, exploding the fuel.

They then sank to the bottom.

This may not have been a wise move. A surface action group of 3 destroyers and 2 frigates was in the area. If they were fired upon they would have fired back, and neither of us would like that to happen. United States warships are there monitoring the situation.

In the CIC of the Bonham, the radar screens light up with the tracks of the 2 missiles headed for the Terrepan fleet.

"Woah, sir, we got a missile launch here!" says one of the radar operators.

A Lieutenant looks over his shoulder as the 2 missiles are tracked all the way up to impact.

"Jesus, these guys are really walking a tightrope - if those had been headed for us the Captain would have splashed them in no time..."

Word was passed to the bridge about the missile launch and the Captain shook his head in disbelief.

"If you pick up anything headed for us, blow it out of the sky first and ask questions later. This place is getting hotter by the minute."

An encrypted report was FLASHed back to Remiesia, retelling the incident.
