The Altaranian Arms Manufacturing Division (AAMD) has submitted plans to the Ministry For Defence (MFD) regarding the construction of several battlecruisers for the naval forces.

The ships would have specifications similar to the following:

3 Nuclear Reactors propelling 6 props

8 Back-up 7500KW electrical generators

Crew = Approx. 1250 personnel, combat-ready

Speed = 33-35 knots

Displacement = Approx 52,750 tonnes

Cargo Hold = Approx 575 tonnes of space (including ammunition storage)

Missiles = 32 SS-N-22 'Sunburn' Surface-Surface missiles
16 SS-N-29 'Medvedka' Anti-Submarine missiles
32 Modified SA-19 'Grisom' Anti-Air missiles
16 SS-N-90 Cruise Missiles
32 SA-N-6 'Grumble' Anti-Air missiles
16 SA-17 'Grizzly' Anti-Air missiles


Guns = 6 300mm Coastal Artillery Barrage Cannons
2 450mm Coastal Artillery Barrage Cannons
12 AA 12.5mm Gattling Cannons
6 88mm Cannons
6 30mm Anti-Air Cannons

Electronics Include = Combat information centre
Radio communications system
Satellite communications system
Anti-ship missile firing control
Fire control system
Surveillance radar system
Low flying and surface target acquisition radar
2 Air defence missile system fire-control radar
4 Fire control radar for 30 mm air defence gun
2 Navigation radars
Active and passive sonar system
Electronic countermeasures system
Decoy dispensers

Aircraft = Typically 6 KA-50 Hokums, though VTOL craft can be taken instead

Length = 490m

Width = 175m Centre
50m Bow

The development of these ships is expected to cost in the region of $53billion, and each ship will cost approximately $8-9billion to construct.

Sounds similar to mine. Although mine has more cruise missiles and 2 engines(and is 200m shorter).

Your ship should be much cheaper than that, probably with a procurement cost somewhere in the $3-6 billion range. However, don't be too intimidated by those like Free Rumania. For some reason, most people that make them are under this sad misconception that a battleship costs less than a cruiser. :roll:

You might wish to make the main guns smaller, my battlecruisers, battleships and dreadnoughts(in this case a battleship/carrier hybrid) only use a 420mm/16.54" cannon. A 500mm/19.7" cannon is huge for a vessel of this size.

The plans will not made available at this point (we haven't built one ourselves yet :)), but I expect we will make them available for sale at some point in the future.

We are able to manufacture our own arms, so your offer of supplying the cannons is greatly appreciated but not needed.

You'll want significantly more air defense. SA-19s are deployed on ships as the SA-N-11, which is part of the Kortik CIWS system, along with a twin 30mm gun. The total number of missiles your ship has is equal to the load of one Kortik, while your battlecruiser would probably be armed with at least 8 of them. You'll also want some medium, and possibly long-range missiles too. SA-N-6s (SA-10) or SA-N-12s (SA-17) would be a good choice.

Your deportation of people because of their economic-social beliefs has lowered the bar somewhat, as has your massing of your forces.

You can wait until the plans go on public sale, like everyone else (except for Gigliovia).

The reason I grouped my forces was cos I was expecting some jumped up n00b who was communist to attack me the moment I said 'commie'

Today, the Ministry For Defence approved the plans, and immediately instructed the Southton Shipyards to commence construction on the Trotsky, the first of the class of ships to be christened with the same name.

6 Trotsky class Battlecruisers have been commissioned, and the shipyards have been instructed to finish the Trotsky as soon as possible, in light of the heightened tensions between Altaran and The People's Anthill.
