Luchencov Revisited. [invite only]
The time is now. The monolithic man stood up adn away from his throne in the middle of the grand throneroom. The cathedral like windows allowed slits of light to get through, penetrating to the dark, stone floor. The noise of shoes on stone echoed throughout the fortress as Lech Luchencov walked off his empirial mound and towards the war room which sat underneath the runway up the middle of the room.
Descending the stairs, the ex-Nankinese military units stood rigid at attention and saluted their leader. He was a dead man - having killed billions in the slaughter of Sniper Country [now ignored, btw], his death was faked. Riyth was able to take the country in a new direction, until now.
"Field Marshal Huko, has the message been sent to the admiral?"
"Yes, your excellency, we have 6 carrier battlegroups under our control. They are all with you, sir."
"Excellent, and the...others?"
"We have fired a shot, sir, we wait word on the damage."
"Very well, carry on."
And with that Huko turned back to his men and continued delgating authority. Soon the enemies of the old regime would crumble, hopefully not hurting the new regime. No, we do not want to hurt our brothers, but only through out own action can anything be done.

This is a FyreStorm special report!!
This is Katie Zacony of FyreStorm News Channel. Minutes ago, this station learned of a horrible massacre earlier today by this nations new leader, General Nathan Hurst.
"At approximately 2pm today, a crowd of about 1000 protestors gathered outside the capital building in Hurstin, formerly Pagania, to protest the current actions of the government in its dealing with the Isla de Penguinata situation, as well as issuing threats to the Penguinatan people, and even Edolia, a longtime ally of Fyrheart.
My fellow Fyreheartians, even now, we hear the government agents downstairs. It is likely we will be killed for saying our next part of this story."
***Katie stands up and looks into the camera***
"Hurst murdered them. All 1000 or so people. By using nerve gas, and then gunning them down with machine guns. You heard me correctly. Hurst murdered innocent Fyreheartian civilians who were only exercising their right to free speech.
Please, I am begging anyone out there, rise up against this man! Fyreheart must be freed from this tyrant! We must - "
***At that point, the door is blown off its hinges by a greande blast, and dozens of soldiers pour into the room. The cameras still rolling, the entire country can see the news crew being murdered. Throats slit, and shot, execution style.
The screen goes blank.
The Tomahawk cruise missile broke right. At the same time, the rest of the 1st Fleet lit off their tomahawk cruise missile launchers. The 20 SSGNs that were closer to IdP came to missile firing depth and launched off their loads. Each Ticonderoga class cruiser emptied their VLS tubes and, combined with the submarine launched missiles, 5880 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired at costal defenses and SAM and radar sites. Bunkers, turrets, everything that could impede a landing was hit by the missiles which carried cluster munitions.
The beach and area some miles behind it lit up as the hundreds of thousands of submunitions hit home, dotting the sky with yellowish flames. The scene was interrupted by Mobius Flight, 100 F/A-18 Superhornets assembled from the 4 Red Dragon class carriers in the area dropped altitude and hit their 'burners to the beach. The 6 LHA-1s were all ready maneuvering into position to open the actual invasion, all that was holding them back was time.

OOC: I'm assuming, due to my involvement in the original thread, that I'm invited? Please let me know if not. Thanks. (And I'm confused - who's Luchenov the leader of? He's not back in Nankin, is he?)
IC:
The Ferrussian government is shocked and appalled. The People's Republic of Ferrussia will not support a ruthless, self-instated Emperor such as has been seen in the actions of Hurst. With a realization that the people are by no means responsible for the actions of this man, the government is hereby dissolving relations with the Fyreheartian government. Any claims to land, property, or rights by the so-called government of Fyreheart will not be honored until a sensible administration is reinstated to preside over the good people of Fyreheart.
To the "Emperor", we have but one question:
If the people of Fyreheart are in such rage over the late Emperor of IdP, then why are you fulfilling the same role? By taking this out on IdP and your allies, you are not only metaphorically making yourself as bad as the former Emperor of IdP, you are quite literally becoming the same image you claim to be fighting against. This war is insane. You are killing your own citizens, and following in the footsteps of the very man you hate.
We offer our assurances to the people of Fyreheart that, though it will be a long ride for them, we are coming. We cannot let such a good nation be suffocated by such a contrasting leader.
*****
Due to safety concerns, the President and Premier will not be making any public appearances in the near future. One of our two E-4B NEACPs (National Emergency Airborne Command Post) is prepared and fueled, ready to take off at a moments notice. For the top government officials, one of the two VC-25 "Air Force One"s is also prepared at all times.
Ferrussia is deploying the Carrier Group Zarikovsky in 28 hours, but its exact force is classified for the moment. The CG is expected to arrive and accompany the Nankinese fleets within 3 days. If their government will allow it, Ferrussia would also like to base several thousand troops in IdP, for their protection and in case action is required. We hope this will not come to war, but we will be prepared to do what needs to be done.
May the people of Fyreheart live free and true.

ETA to IdP: 4 hours.
OOC: I'm out for the night. No one post till IdP sees this.
The Imperätor of Edolia, Erik von Blätterschplitt read the report on his desk. He turned to his aide. "So we have a militant faction in Nankin and a rogue dictator in Fyreheart to worry about now? These are two of our strongest allies. Something must be done. Schedule a meeting with Marshal von Clësiburg. I need to discuss our options."
Isla de Penguinata
27-09-2003, 04:01
The attack by Nankin has devastated our beach defenses, as well as hit several coastal communities. There was little to no time for the Penguinatan Military to ready itself for this attack, and is outraged. Isla de Penguinata has demanded an explanation from the Nankinese government, and is threatening a declaration of war.
There has been little time to prepare for the coming Fyreheartian attack. The entire country has been put on high alert, and citizens have been urged to stay in their homes and take refuge in underground shelters. We are in the process of mobilizing the following:
20 EM-140 Beluga Frigates
10 Sentinel 4 Submarines
40 Gauntlet Class Frigates
50 Bodkin Class Frigates
25 XEV-NAPD Destroyers
20 XEV-NSAS Submarines
5 XEV-NACV Aircraft Carriers w/
-150 XEV-FIAV Fighters
-50 Bladeian CB-35 Attack Helicopters
450 XEV-FIAV Fighters
100 XEV-SBA Stealth Bombers
Our entire arsenal of Tomahawk Cruise Missiles has been mobilized, and if any further attack should take place that involves Nankin or Fyreheart, we will release all 8,000 missiles.
Isla de Penguinata is requesting that M10 get involved in this. Fyreheart's new leadership has betrayed our nation, and the alliance. Death shall engulf General Hurst.
EDIT:
Also being mobilized is the following:
450 Bladeian Hovertanks
200 Bladeian SW-CB Walkers
400 Bladeian Main Battle Tanks
150 Bladeian CB-35 Attack Helicopters
Ferrussia
27-09-2003, 04:25
Ferrussia will be coming to the aid of Isla de Penguita in any way possible. The Carrier Group Kalishnov has left port, and ETA to IdP is 3 days. In the mean time, a ground force is being assembled for deployment to protect IdP, and while specifics have not been revealed yet, it is said to be "a very large force."
Ferrussia continues to speak out against the actions of the Fyreheartian government, and is appalled by the attack of IdP defenses by Nankin. Liasons with IdP and Nankin were being established, but diplomatic suspicion has now caused the liason with Nankin to be cancelled. Considerable stress is on the Department of Foreign Affairs, and they are collaborating with the Department of War to decide whether a war against Nankin is justified, but for the time being we're waiting for a Nankinese statement before declaring war. The Ferrussian ambassador to Nankin is working to talk directly to the Nankinese Head of State. War has not been officially declared on Fyreheartian forces, either, but tensions continue to increase, and top government officials commented that "if Fyreheart or Nankin take further action against IdP or other allied forces ... it will likely be considered grounds for war."

Secret IC:
Inside Fyreheartian High Command, General Hurst speaks on the phone to an unknown person
"Yes, yes. All is going exactly as planned. I knew it, I told you this from the start.n As soon as Amethyst died, he would surface."
...
"Hahah! I know, right? Let's just hope my international reputation isn't shot to shit after that farced news report eh?" ... "Yes. Yes it is." ... "I know Lieutenant, I know. It is one grave rish. But we must have faith that the world knows Fyreheart better than that. Our citizens have been gracious enough to go along with this. It amazes me we havn't had even one leak as of yet." ... "Yes. I know. I miss him too." ... "Yes, indeed. Isis help us if we fail here. Listen James, I have to go. I must check on the damage done to IdP and see if there is any way I can secretly contact their President." ... "You too. Blessed Be James. Goodbye."
Hurst hung up the phone and leaned back in his chair.
How can I let these people know what's going on without blowing this operation?
He had an idea. A risky idea, but an idea nonetheless. He got up, and went into the telephone logs on his computer in front of him. He quickly made two copies, and then deleted all traces of the actual call itself.
He got up, and walked out of his office, and down the hall to one of the many computer rooms inside FHC. He sat down and opened the governmental email system. He typed the ambassador of Ferrusia's name into the "TO" field, and attached the conversation to the email and encrypted it.
"Send"
There. Let's just hope he can understand this...

A soft beep from his personal computer informed Ambassador Gorodonski he had a message. He looked up from the bags he had been packing. Now what? he thought. The Department of Foreign Affairs had been e-mailing him constantly, and yet still expected him to be ready for the general recall from Fyreheart, to be announced in a matter of hours.
But he looked a little closer at the e-mail and realized it was not from Foreign Affairs. His curiosity piqued, he sat down at the desk to take a closer look. Pulling out his glasses, he read the first few lines.
Secure transmission recieved 17:49:07, 9/26/03

Sender: "General Nathan Hurst"
He read on. It seemed to be a phone conversation of some kind, about some elaborate plot to bring someone out, and hoping noone would do anything. At first he scoffed the whole thing. Hurst probably made it up to delay a Ferrussian reaction. Maybe he heard about the recall.
But his intuition told him that at the very least, he ought to do everything in his power to avoid conflict, and if Hurst was trying to communicate with him, then it was his obligation to pursue it, even if it turn out to be a wild goose chase. Sighing, he closed the e-mail and drafted a response:
To the noble General Hurst, (he had difficulty writing this, but diplomacy is diplomacy)
I am interested by your recent communique, and have some questions concerning it's meaning. I would like to more fully discuss its possibilities, despite personal feelings that this may not be all it looks to be. I would hate to lose any opporitunity to negotiate with you, and regardless of your interests, I should like to talk to your government, be it through your ambassador, staff, or in person. Please reply with the time and place of your choosing, and I shall do my best to arrive there.
With great thanks,
Ambassador Aleksei A. Gorodonski
Ambassador of the People's Republic of Ferrussia
to the esteemed Armed Republic of Fyreheart
With that, he sent the e-mail using an encrypted path and sent a formal request to the Department of Foreign Affairs to delay the recall, and noting that he may be in an important negotiation. He requested permission to continue negotiations, and attached the e-mail Hurst had sent.
He closed his eyes and rested his head on his desk, trying to sort it all out. Who could this man be, who was resurfacing? Why would he be so important as to set up a national charade, and what was that charade? Why would the people be going along with him?
His secretary came in. "Can I get you something, sir?"
"Coffee," he said. "Lots of coffee."

A few minutes later, Ambassador Gorodonski heard the all too familiar beep from his computer again. He opened it quickly, knowing it would be from Hurst or the Department of Foreign Affairs.
It was Hurst.
Reading the message through twice, he couldn't make heads or tails of it. It was incredibly suspicious, and it reminded him way too much of the paranoid spy movies where someone's always trying to kill the hero. He didn't like it at all.
He chugged the rest of his coffee, and Rozaliya came in with another cup.
Another beep. This time it was the Department of Foreign Affairs, giving him free range on negotiations, and telling him in the strongest terms possible that they were counting on him to do everything in his power to avoid a conflict between Fyreheart and IdP/Ferrussia.
Great, he thought. Now I don't really have a choice...
He responded to both e-mails, confirming to Hurst that he would be there, and to Foreign Affairs that he would be meeting with Hurst in Serpintia City tomorrow. For good measure, he forwarded them Hurst's e-mail, and requested that the Gulfstream V which was being sent to take him back to Ferrussia be reassigned to take him to Serpentia in the morning.
He shouted out his door.
"Roza, can you find a Charlie's Restaurant in Serpintia?" He looked at his coffee cup. It was empty again.
"And get me some more coffee."

4 hours later
Hurst stepped out onto the roof and into the rain. It was absolutely pouring.
Damn rainy seasons. Why couldn't I be in a tropical paradise right now?, he thought.
Hurst half ran, half walked towards the waiting plane. He had relieved his chauffer of duty, and was taking along three of his most trusted aides to meet the Ferrusian ambassador at Charlie's, who would then escort him to the actual meeting site. He just couldn't risk any kind of deception or screw-ups on this one. The stakes were far too high.
He also couldn't risk a catastrophic war that would kill hundreds of thousands of people. He'd seen enough fighting in his day already.
He boarded the plane and sat down next to Agent Planter.
"Well, we've really gotten ourselves in some shit this time, havn't we Planter?"
Planter laughed. "But think of how bored we'd be if we didn't Sir!"
"Very true, very true indeed."
Hurst kicked back and prepared to sleep on the 4 hour flight to Serpintia City. He knew he wouldn't be able to, but he could try just the same.
He just hoped his agents would meet an ambassador and not a strike team...

Hurstin, Fyreheart
The following morning - 7:00 AM local time
Gorodonski gave his wife Ekatarina and 9-year old son a hug and kiss as he left. He didn't say anything of his worries, just that he was going on a quick business trip to meet with some important people.
Ekatarina wasn't a blind fool, though. She knew perfectly well that Ferrussia may well be going to war with Fyreheart in a matter of days, and that her husband's life was on the line. She had seen him get up early to put on the light bulletproof vest under his shirt, and the ceramic gun hidden in a fake cigar box. For heavens sake, he didn't even smoke. But she masked all her concerns beneath her warm, loving smile. He needed a wife now, not an analyst.
The limousine ride to the airport was brief, and he had no delay with security, using his diplomatic immunity to get into the airport relatively hassle-free, and he walked out onto the tarmac as nervous as could be. The air was damp with humidity, and the rain began to fall a bit harder.
It's hard to tell it's morning, he thought, looking into the dank, grey sky. For a few brief seconds his mind took a break to think about the weather. But walking up to the Gulfstream, he was snapped back to the reality of his situation.
Hopefully, the weather was no omen of future events.

Serpintia City, Fyreheart
12:57 PM
The ambassador walked into the restaraunt, looking around for any sign of the new "Emperor". He was nowhere in sight.
The waitress seated him at a table, and he told her he was expecting someone, and that his own name was Aleksei Gorodonski. She smiled and said she'd let the reception table know.
He looked around. Still no sign of Hurst. The waitress came back with some ice water, and asked if he'd like anything else.
"No thanks," he replied, and she went off to tend for another table.
He'd give Hurst 15 minutes at most.

Agents Gordy and Planter were sitting near the back wall when Agent Hisdar, the waitress who helped Gorodonski, walked by and randomly refilled their coffees. Planter looked at Gordy.
"That's the sign. He's here."
They got up and walked up to the counter, pretending to pay their bill.
Hisdar took their 'payment,' and whispered, "By the window, Table 6."
Without saying a word, Gordy and Planter walked over and stood in front of the ambassador. Gorodonski looked up.
"May I help you, gentlemen?"
Gordy moved closer. "Sir, if you'll come with us please."
The ambassador looked up defiantly. "Thank you, but I'm quite fine right here. Now if you'll please just-"
Planter spoke up. "Sir, please don't make a scene." He motioned to his gun in his right front pocket. He hated doing it this way, but it's what Hurst thought had to be done, and in a way, it made sense.
"Wh- What is this? I am the Senior Ambassador from the People's Republic of Ferrussia, and you... you don't want to..." Gorodonski couldn't think how to end the sentence. He sounded halfway frightened now, and began to reach for his ceramic gun.
Planter motioned for him to stop. "Sir, I know full well who you are, I just need you to come with us, now!"
Gorodonski looked into his eyes. He didn't seem to be hostile, and it dawned on him that Hurst would not meet in broad daylight, in a public restaraunt. In fact, Planter seemed to be trying to tell him he was with Hurst, without actually saying it aloud. He stopped resisting, and decided to go along.
Gordy and Planter led him outside to a waiting van. Rusty and off-white, it looked like it should have been in a junkyard. Planter went in the back with Gorodonski, and Gordy jumped in the drivers seat, but they didn't leave.
"What are you waiti-" Gorodonski began, but he saw Hisdar come out of the back, pulling the restaraunt uniform off to reveal the clothes beneath. "Oh."
She jumped in the back, and Gorodonski stood. "Good afternoon, ma'am," he said, but he hit his head on the roof as he stood, and the van began to move forward, so he sat down again.
"So where are you taking me?" asked Gorodonski, a bit impatient.
"Sir, I cannot discuss that. General Hurst will tell you all you need to know."
Gorodonski sighed, and leaned back against the uncomfortable van wall. Emperors, it seemed, had much different ways of doing things.

***************
The 1st Fleet was on high alert off the coast of IdP. The 301st Armored Cav was a couple minutes out from hitting land - a devestated beach that held the first foothold for their insurrection. Every CIWS and Sea SParrow system was up and running, and the Taruntul IVB fast attack boats were patrolling the outer rims, ready to block the first wave of any cruise missiles.
20 F-62Cs flew over the coast as the landing crafts dropped their doors and armor poured out. 300 M1A2 Abrams and 300 M3 Bradleys (for a total of 3900 soldiers armed with m87s) started dotting the beach as 10 more F/A-18 Superhornets flew overhead. These were on hunter missions, going beyond the treeline and looking for anti-armor defenses.
"Mobius Lead, this is Mobius 3, I have a strong return 2 klicks northwest."
"Roger, 3. 2 and 3, break off and engage."
The 2 aircraft banked hard right and headed for the deck. Once locked on, they loosed 2 unguided medium bombs each, impacting in a ball of flames on the ground below.
***************
The 77th Airborne Division was already over the area. The 100 C-141s had refueled in midflight and were now approaching the beach they had just recently left. THe doors opened on 50 of the transports as 10,000 troops piled out and floated to the ground blow. THe sky was dotted with men as the 50 other -141s went lower and dropped something more deadly: 100 M-8 light tanks. These would provide back up for the troops, and some patriot missile batteries were being set up to defend against any attacks - whether plane or cruise missile.
***************
Admiral Jackson was looking out the window as the radar officer informed him of the trouble. Damn, they were assembling already, we can't have that.
"Weapons free, destroy their fleet." We shall sting them hard and fast.
"Yes, admiral. All weapons going into automatic mode."
The water was aflame thousands of missile launches as the SSGNs and the Ticonderogas fired their second volley of Tomohawk cruise missiles at:
20 EM-140 Beluga Frigates
40 Gauntlet Class Frigates
50 Bodkin Class Frigates
25 XEV-NAPD Destroyers
5 XEV-NACV Aircraft Carriers
The carriers being targeted first, and then so on down the line. Also targeted were the ports that these ships came out of - 2,500 of the 5,880 missiles went to the harbor facilities and defenses, the rest went to the ships. After the Ticonderogas fell back to rearm, the first wave of Harpoon missiles were fired. About 3,000 of these missiles were fired, falling in lower and right after the Tomahawks, thus eliminating the chance of getting hit by CIWS fire. These were all targeted at the ships.
The subs were now being hunted by 30 P-7s which were now patrolling the area around the fleet. A couple returns were produced, and acted upon. Torpedos were dropped to hunt after the subs with limited success, but for the most part the subs were out of range.
As for any aircraft, the F-62s were operating in 4 elements of 50 each. 2 were at high altitudes to intercept any bombers, and the other 100 were low, scoping out any fast penetration attacks against the fleet. So far, no attacks had been made on the 1st Fleet.
*************
"Commander, we just got word from Luchencov!"
"He's...alive! This is...wonderful! I cannot express it in word- what does he desire?"
"Operational plan 2342, we are at war."
"2342? Must be serious, well, our men are well trained. Let's move out, hooyah!"
With that the general alarm was sounded inside the Nankinese military base in Fyreheart. Established years ago, it had pretty much been forgotten, until now. Commander Yuek gathered the men in front of their vehicles and gave them a rousing speech. With that, the men were off, and the 50 M1A2s, 60 M3s, and 20 RAH-66s were off and headed for downtown Sirpintia City. They stayed off the roads and used the stealthy Comanches as scouts - there would be no expecting their attack....

OOC: Um, Nankin, what on earth about 3 diplomatic e-mails between Fyreheart and the Ferussian embassy (which, given the circumstances, would if anything seem low, and I'm sure many more e-mails take place in day-to-day embassy operations) would make you think that Fyreheart is/could be betraying you to the extent that you invade Fyreheart? I'm just curious. (Not to mention, there is most likely a hardwire, closed circuit connection between the embassy and the Fyreheartian government server, which would be, to my knowledge, impossible to access without directly downloading from the server in either building).

"General, we have a serious problem."
General Lofton looked up from his dinner as his aide rushed into the room. "What's that Private?"
"Sir, we've picked up heavy activity at the Nankinese military base. Many units are now leaving the base and heading for Serpintia City."
Lofton stood up and wiped his mouth. "The time has come. We knew this would happen eventually. Are the men prepared?"
Yes sir. 50,000 troops, with backup of 200 T-90's and 4 squadrons of F-62B's, ready to go upon your orders sir."
"Very well. You have the green light. Someone find Hurst and tell him that the inevitable has happened, and he needs to get him, his agents, and the Ferrusian ambassador to safety as soon as possible."
"Yes sir. Sir, do we have clearance for operation heavy metal?"
Lofton sighed. This was not something he wanted to do. "Yes Private. If you must, chemical weapons are cleared for use. I also need to contact Isla de Penguinata and Ferrusia's governments, and explain to them exactly what's been going on behind the scenes here. It's time the world knows what's been happening here."
"Yes sir!" The aide rushed out.
Lofton sighed as he walked to the videophone. Time to blow our cover. Dammit Hurst, where the hell are you?
He picked up the phone and dialed his secretary.
"LInda? get me President McDermont from IdP on the line immediately. Tell him Luchencov is back, and it's time to play hardball."
He hung up the phone and walked out the door.

The Abrams picked up speed as the Bradleys made it to the outskirts of the city. Anyone resembling a soldier or policeman was gunned down with the 25mm Bushmaster cannon on top. All vehicles were now using infared guidance systems to navigate in the darkness, as a couple lead M3s were throwing up smoke into the intersections of the city. Soon, the 110 vehicles slipped onto the main roads and were destroying everything in their path.
Above, the 20 RAH-66s flew just above the buildings. The rocket pods were now visible and ready to strike at anything.

52 F-15's were already in the air. They flew like birds of prey in the night sky: fast, graceful, and deadly.
"Smolder One to all units. We have final clearance. Approaching target. Lock and load."
The other pilots didn't bother to answer, they merely went to battle readiness.
The Nankinese military base was only 15 miles away now.
"All units, open fire!"
All the F-15's launched their cruise missiles. They screamed towards the Nankinese military base below. The F15's pulled up hard, and began evasive maneuvers

The above is a link to a thread where I have all my military stats posted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The commanders at bases all across the country had been nervous, and extremely wired. They were checking field reports every 10 minutes, and checking the radars more often. Then they had seen the first barrage of tomahawk cruise missiles on the radars, and were ordered not to fire from their ground locations. They would wait until the initial attack was over, and then release all they had. And boy did they have a lot..
The first barrage of cruise missiles soared towards the fleet that had positioned strategically off the coasts of Isla de Penguinata. AEGIS missile defense systems had been installed on all ships in preparation for such an attack. They all soared off, thousands of them, colliding with hundreds of cruise missiles in mid-air. Huge balls of fire erupted in the clear blue sky, making it seem like pumpkins had randomly popped out everywhere. Unfortunately, not all the AEGIS missiles could shoot down the cruise missiles, and hundreds slammed into ships. Total losses of ships from the attack are as follows:
13 EM-140 Beluga Frigates
24 Gauntlet Class Frigates
21 Bodkin Class Frigates
6 XEV-NAPD Destroyers
2 XEV-NACV Aircraft Carriers
(Note: These are losses, not what is left over.)
About 20 miles of minefield had been dug from the shores of Isla de Penguinata. As hundreds of tanks and thousands of men fell in this Death Strip, explosions went high into the sky, ripping through the air like speeding bullets.
Moments of calm followed, and then air raid sirens went off all over Isla de Penguinata. Fear struck the hearts of millions, and the President was already in his underground bunker, talking to military leaders via visual teleconference. Red klaxons sounded all over military bases, and planes were being readied to take off. 7,600 cruise missiles would be launching off, 1,300 ICBMs, and 1 50 mega-ton non-nuclear missile were being launched off. 2100 of the cruise missiles had warheads of VX Nerve Gas, Mustard Gas, Anthrax, or Smallpox. These were all headed towards Nankinese military facilities, speeding through the air, ripping it as they went past. The other 6000+ had explosives packed in the warheads. They were speeding towards the Nankinese 1st Fleet, hoping to kill their prey.
The 1300 ICBMS and mega-ton missile were also rushing to the 1st Fleet.
War has been declared upon Nankin, and we are mobilizing our entire military, as well as reserves.

Meanwhile...
The President was talking to one of his generals anxiously via visual teleconference when his Defense Minister, Natalie Vjordskenn, walked in. She was very grim and was wearing her black business suit. She had bright blonde hair, and had a thick Russian accent. Her dad's side was Norwegian, but she was definately Russian, and looked it.
"Mr. President, there is a call for you on Line 2..It's from Fyreheart, apparently they have been attacked also."
The President sighed. "Hold on General.."
"Ok Natalie.." McDermont picked up the phone, not knowing what to expect.
"Yes, this is McDermont..yes,yes I've heard..he's WHAT? You've got to be kidding!...You aren't?..Ok, thank you very much."
"Natalie, Luchenov is back. I don't know how or why, but apparently he's the one responsible for the attacks that we're suffering now. I don't know if he took over the country, or is operating it behind Premier Riyth. This is very serious..."
"Yes, Mr. President. I would advise that we continue with the current..how you say?..ah! operation. It is imperative that we destroy the threat, no matter we know who it is or no."
"Thank you Natalie, I think you're right. This is a grave day, and by God, I will not let us collapse into defeat."

The Ferrussian government is utterly stunned by the actions that have taken place over the last few days. The Nankinese invasion of Fyreheart is not condoned, as negotiations were underway at the time. The attack has come as a complete suprise to the government, and the Department of Foreign Affairs is desperately contacting Nankin, telling them to hold off until the general recall can be issued. Due to the obscure circumstances of this conflict, any casualties sustained by Ferrussia, military or civilian, will be considered a direct act of war.
Our fleet has recently arrived in the general area of the conflict, but due to the incredibly confusing situation we're put in, we're staying out of range of all involved fleets. The embassy in Nankin is filing every way they can think of to talk to the government and figure out what the heck is going on.
Ground and air forces are being deployed to IdP, with additional details to be given later. In the meantime, Ferrussian officials are sitting down and trying to make heads or tails of this all.

[Who says I wasn't going to attack Fyreheart anyway?]
[I'm going to RP this city fight a littel, then move onto the offensive war in IdP.]
The 78 F-62B's took of from Pagania along with 78 F-15's. They screamed towards Serpintia at top speed. Below them on the ground, the T-90's and the Fyreheartian troops lagged behind, needing the planes to do their damage. The F62's and F15's came within firing range and let loose with a torrential downpour. Nogt that it mattered, as General Lofton had foreseen the need to evacuate the area surrounding the Nankinese military base.
First the F-15's swooped in low, letting loose with their cruise missiles, trying to hit as much of the AA weaponry as they could without being destroyed themselves, then scattering every which way to avoid returning fire. Then the F-62B's came, dropping payloads of bombs onto the forces below, then pulling away like the F15's.
The forces flew out 7 miles and then turned around for another assault.

On the beach, the 301st was being ripped up. After mines took out 7 Abrams and 12 M3s, all forward action was halted, and now the division is awaiting a mine clearing team....
High over ahead, 4 JSTARS are now working around the clock. One has been tasked to finding the minefields (a function that can in fact do and were built for). Once scoped out, the mechanics corps of the division can get to work. Otherwise, the 77th Airborne is clear of any ground obstacles aside from natural foliage.

"Admiral! Thousands of vamps, inbound!"
"Have systems been set to automatic?"
"Yes, everything has been prepped. I guess we shall wait..."
As the missiles came towards the fleet, they had to pass over the beachhead. From here, 50 patriot missile batteries on humvees opened up from the tail end of the 301st. The rockets slipped out of their boxes and towards the nearly invisible lances of the enemy. Some were taken down in this first wave, then the missiles had to pass the fast attack boats. Sending up a wave of flares, chaff, and CIWS fire, most of the inbound missiles were intercepted in this phase. Beyond that, F-62s circling the fleet intercepted some more, and the rest of the ships opened up with CIWS fire. In the end, 7 Taruntul FABs were destroyed, 8 damaged, 2 Virginia class cruisers destroyed, 1 repairable, and one operational but unable to move. 3 Ion class destroyers were damaged, 1 destroyed. Also, 2 Coontz class ships were destroyed. The biggest hit, was the damage to the Katyusha, but that is being repaired as I speak.
The P-7s had found some more submarines and have launched several mark 48 torpedoes after them.

The first contact was reached in Serpinita City by a trio of Comanches. flying overhead, the jet engines and contrials of jets could be seen flying over the city and towards the Nankinese military base. The base erupted in brilliant colors as Commander Yeuk was surely dead - those bastards. Being stealth had its advantages, and soon the lead element of 3 found their first ground contact. An enemy convoy was moving in, adn the Comanches moved to outflank them. Once in position, the rocket pods came alive and 4 elements joined in on the assault. As the 12 choppers were blasting away at teh Fyreheartian tanks, the formation of 110 vehicles reached the fiasco. Opening fire from down the street and through buildings, the Abrams paved the way as Bradleys zipped into alleys and through the open lobbies of buildings - these would soon encircle the grander enemy numbers and destroy them with TOW missiles. But for now, there were the 50 M1A2s lined up on 6 streets in a horizontal line blasting away downt he once peaceful city in Fyreheart.

Somewhere on the outskirts of Serpintia
"Ambassador, we do not have much time. Come quickly!"
Hurst and Gorodonski ran inside the building, a top secret military installation.
"Here is the proof you wanted. Watch and learn." Hurst popped a video into a VCR, and pressed play. He fast forwarded to a certain part, and froze the frame. Going to the monitor, he enhanced to 10x the normal size.
Gorodonski looked on, shocked. The video showed Ragger coming up behind Luchencov, and shooting him, just as was known before. Frozen in time, was the evidence. Ragger had shot Luchenov all right. With a dye pack!
Gorodonski looked at Hurst, shocked. "So this...this is why, isn't it?"
Hurst nodded. "I knew he wasn't dead, and I knew he would show up to take revenge on Fyreheart once Amethyst died, for turning on him back then. I did this to bring him out. With IdP under siege, there is little time remaining. You must convince your government to help us here."
Gorodonski started to speak, but Hurst cut him off. "Ambassador, let me show you the real reason you are at this particular base."
Gorodonski looked puzzled, and followed Hurst down a long hallway, and down 6 flights of stairs. They came upon a door. Hurst opened it and motioned for Gorodonski to enter. Cautiously, Gorodonski walked in the door. He almost fainted.
There, sitting at a table, surrounded by the Ministerial Cabinet, was none other than Amethyst Fyreheart.
Fyreheart looked up at the ambassasdor.
"Well, it seems I can fake my death too, eh Ambassador?"

<TOP SECRET IC>
Gorodonski was led by Hurst to a private room near ground level, and the ambassador set up his wireless laptop. As quickly as he could, he typed up a summation.
***CODE ALPHA - IMMEDIATE - URGENT***
Amethyst alive. Body double was assasinated, not Fyreheart. Hurst friendly, no murders.
Luchenov alive. Nankin attacks actually led by Luch. Fyreheart attempting to draw him out with Hurst. Fyreheart in bad condition - we need to back them up.
Respond NOW
-Gorodonski
He attached his various authorizations, including the secret one that indicated he was not under threat while writing the letter. Several encryptions were applied, and he checked to make sure that the connection to the communications satellite was completely secure.
The message was incredibly brief, but should be enough to get the word across. He waited patiently, and in less than a minute, he recieved a response:
Confirm message. Video conference with cabinet in less than a minute. Be ready.
This was better than he thought. The seconds seemed to tick by slower than anything, but eventually it came - a secure channel video conference began.
The President wasn't looking particularly great, and the Premier was absent. The rest of the essential cabinet was assembled, most adjusting their ties and trying to swig coffee and donuts at the same time.
"Ambassador," greeted the President with a nod.
"Mr. President, I'm hon-"
"Let's dispense with the pleasentries, shall we? Luchenov is alive?"
"Yes, Mr. President. The Fyreheartians have proof. Do you have that video of the Luchenov assasination?"
A whisper to an assistant, and the young man quickly strode out of the room.
The ambassador continued. "You can check it in a minute, I just need to tell you now incase we loose the connection - Hurst is on our side. He was trying to bring out Luchenov, and everything about being Emperor was a sham. Amethyst and the rest of the cabinet are here, I could show you in a minute, and they're still in control of the country. But Luchenov has a lot of firepower, and a military base in Fyreheart. They need our help, and fast."
The President thought on this for a while. "You believe all this?"
"Absolutely. Almost nothing could convince me that this is fake. I just shook hands with Amethyst Fyreheart."
"Couldn't he have been a double? Hurst could be manipulating you."
"Sir, I - I understand, but I'm as sure as can be that this is the real deal. I've met with Amethyst countless times before, this is the same man. Not to mention, this is about the only thing that explains why Nankin would have launched thousands of cruise missiles at IdP."
The President nodded. "We're going to discuss this, I don't want us going to war with a blindfold on. But I think you're right, Aleksei. I trusted your judgement against the TOW, and I'm inclined to believe you now."
He took a deep breath, and looked to the Secretary of Defense.
"Now, what kind of firepower do we ha..."
Discussion exploded on the table, and the entire cabinet was discussing this new information. It had taken a minute to really weigh in on them, but now it had, and they were dedicated.
Ferrussia was going to war.

[Ok, this is in response to Fyreheart.]
The AA weaponry in the back of the column erupted in a ball of fire and sharpnel. The enmy planes had first taken out the base and were now working the defenses of the division. 10 humvees went up, and with them a gap in the air defense opened. In response to this, 7 other humvess opened up with the patriot missile systems on their back. The missiles leaped into the sky after their targets...

"General! Missiles inbound."
"Trajectories?" Ragger was shouting now. All of a sudden, everything was quiet, now hell was breaking loose. There was no invasion force around, this wasn't another Rukemia...
"Sir, they're targeted for our military bases, southern areas, North Point will be fine."
"Origin?"
"Sir, it's IdP..."
"What the hell? Don't we have a-" Shit, 1st Fleet + missiles flying at us [b]This is not good[/i]. "Get Admiral Jackson on the phone."
"Sir, no response, but the signal is there. Sir, if i may speak freely..."
"Yes?"
"Sir, looks like we don't have a 1st Fleet, if you know what I mean."
"But..why? Damn, we'll settle this later, the SBLs are charged, set them to automatic, alert the Premier and the bases, I want all TAC squadrons up."
"Right away."
*******************
THrough the evening sky, the cruise missiles headed towards Nankin let loose plumes of smoke behind them. Originating from IdP, they branched out and were now entering the atmosphere. High above, 40 space based lasers were fully charged. Having last been used to defend Nankin against Rukemia, they now had another task. The 40 lasers shot out at the incoming vampires and destroyed most of them in a short blip - for the lack of air means no explosion in space.
15 minutes later, another volley of laser fire was shot, and now all the missiles were destroyed. This second blast was seen in the atmosphere of the desert Tactical Air Base Squadron bases in southern Nankin. The streaks continued across the sky as men ran to their respective Su-37 Superflankers. For now, no one was moving. All buildings were sealed and the doors to the control rooms (which are located in the mountains, the runways are on plateaus next to the cliffs, like in Terminator 3), and for now the men just sat and waited in their planes, fully armed, and full confused.

General Lofton walked into the hangar with the technicians.
"General, I'm telling you, they are fully ready. They have been ever since the threat of war with Melkor awhile ago."
Lofton ran his hand over the smooth titanium plating. "How soon can they launch?"
"Why, now, if you'd like sir."
Lofton smiled. "Do it then."
"Aye sir. How many?"
Lofton looked over. "What do you mean how many?"
The mechanic laughed. "Generasl, we have 4 more squadrons iof these ready to go. You didn't think we stopped at 3 did you?"
Lofton look ecstatic. "Launch them all! Oh my, oh yes. These bastards are about to be crushed!"

"Sir, we've got a problem with the Nankinese forces in the area. Apparently our minefield isn't going to last much longer..I would suggest that we carpet-bomb the area." An aide was speaking to President McDermont in the underground bunker.
"I know Mike, but it's so hard. I'm getting leads that this may not be under the control of the standing Nankinese government..I know that Luchenov is still alive, but I don't know if he's operating the government or if he's simply leading a military faction." The President sighed and buried his head in his hands. So many decisions...
"I want you to call the governments of Nankin, Ferrussia, and Fyreheart. I know that Fyreheart is on our side to some extent, or they wouldn't have called and warned us about Luchenov being alive. I want you to get as much out of all of them as you can. I need information before I make the next move. In the meanwhile, move our mechanized divisions just behind the minefield. Order them to send out sporadic artillery attacks when they get close enough."
"Yes sir. I will get onto it immediately."

20 F-22s lifted off from the military base, flying towards Death Strip. It was their aim to attack everything they could find, in the air or on the ground. They came across the alpine forest in which thousands of mines were buried, and could see smoke in the distance.
"This is Bravo 2 to Chicken Sore, we've drank the bottles empty."
"Bravo 2, this is Chicken Sore, lick the ground beef and smack it hard."
The F-22s came near the site, awaiting the dozens of Nankinese aircraft and air defense sites. This was a suicide mission for sure, but hopefully it would distract the enemy for a while...

Dominion over the air is painfully important, and as such, this will be a major part of Ferrussian deployments. Ferrussian forces are currently being ferried to Fyreheart with the assistance of air-to-air refueling. The primary deployments include:
5 wings (360x) F/A-200B Millenium Fighter
3 wings (216x) F-24 "Antares" interceptor
4 wings (288x) F/A-22C Raptor
2 wings (144x) F-29B Drow
1 wing (72x) F-29A Drow
3 wings (216x) F/A-18IF SuperHornet
4 wings (288x) AH-1Z UltraCobra
3 wings (216x) AH-93 Firemoth
3x EA-8C JSTARS
4x EA-70 JSTARS
2x EC-130E Command Solo
15x EC-130H Compass Call
(All in all, that's 1,824 planes. )
We're dispatching a similiar force to IdP, which will be clearly defined soon. The planes will set up wherever possible all across Fyreheart, with most concentrated about 100 mi. from Serpintia.
Once the fighters have established air defenses, ground forces will be flown in via plane, and some may be brought in by sea, as well.
