(This RP thread is a branch off of the Freemantia/Facsist Might War (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69947&start=300))
In a similar fashion to Pandemac, the 20th and 26th MP divisions entered the towns of Kurgistan and Vasistlos, killing all of the inhabitants and dragging them into the back of a large tanker truck. A burly man in his 30s steps forth from the interior of the Montaug, the mobile command center for the division. With a vidlink in hand, Field Marshal Molotov orders in a dropship deployment to take him, his men, and the vehicles thousands of miles away to the mountain complex of the Black Mesa Research Facility in southern Unreal Soldiers.
Dropships can be heard droning in the distance, and crews rush out to Black Mesa's airport. The dropships open, and trailers drive out, carrying their frozen cargo. The large reinforced steel doors slide apart, revealing Black Mesa's AMD Sector, Hitler III's main lab area.
"Secretary Freeman, your shipment of bodies has arrived. They're being unloaded in the AMD sector as we speak, and the dissection team is being prepped. Do you wish to supervise the experiments yourself?"
"Yes Field Marshal. Tell them I'll be there shortly. And how is our cybernetic division coming along?"
"They say they'll be ready in one week; there's been a shortage of the parts you requested so they'll be delayed just a tad. But I assume the experiments can be started now despite that?"
"Yes, of course they can. Carry on Field Marshal."
As Field Marshal Molotov exited the office, Secretary of Scientific Research/Development Gordon Freeman organized his rather large pile of documents related to the Empire's latest military research endeavor: Project "Über Soldat," otherwise known as "Super Soldier." Compiling everything from biological engineering, to advanced semiconductor technology, to mechanical engineering, and even to a more recent development in Tesla technology, this ambitious project held the promise of creating a nearly indestructible new kind of infantry. Excited with the possibilities, Freeman quickly gathered his things and headed for Black Mesa's most prestigious research plant: the Anomolous Materials Division.

ooc: Maybe later. Right now I have another war to RP, RP this, and I have other commitments that prevent me from being on NS 24/7... I wouldn't have time to do it all :(...

Arriving ten minutes after being informed of the body cargo, Gordon Freeman headed toward the large steel doors marking the entrance to the AMD labs. Passing through identification, Freeman entered into the newly rebuilt facility and proceeded to the first of his stops: the docking bay. It is here that he receives the first estimates of the body harvest: nearly 8,200 corpses in relatively good condition. Perfect for the experiments at hand...
THe Uber Soldat was a bastard to kill in Wolfenstein...THEN THERE WAS 3!Heinreich Himler was so easy it was disapointing.Ill be quiete now.
OOC: Proper German, wouldnt Ueber be used as an adjective, IE, Uebersoldat, and plural, Uebersoldaten?

OOC: Proper German, wouldnt Ueber be used as an adjective, IE, Uebersoldat, and plural, Uebersoldaten?
ooc: Eh I don't know. That spelling is just the way I saw it in the game Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I'm not a German expert. :?
EDIT: Alright I looked it up on my german translator thing and I'm coming up with "Übermäßiger Soldat"... if anyone here who speaks German fluently can confirm, then I'll change the thread title...

ooc: Yeah, the super soldiers were my favorite part of the game. However, both the Heinrich I and the ending were really crappy in terms of difficulty and plot.
How did it get Übermäßiger?

How did it get Übermäßiger?
ooc: I don't know. After I retranslated that back to English, it came up with "Excessive Soldier"... so I'm gonna guess that that's not it. :(

"Project Very Soldier"?
I mean "SUPER" Soldier when I say Über Soldat; I cannot find the accurate translation of that phrase so I'm going to go with the RTCW term for now, unless someone finds me the exact and true translation...
Ueber means many things:
Great
Very
Ultra
Super

Inside the large hangar deep underground in the AMD labs, work had officially begun on the top secret operation. The first experiment: to reanimate the dead by surging a corpse with electricity. With the first shipment of 300, the project seemed to be getting only minimal results, ranging from exploding bodies (high amperes, high voltage) to getting certain organs to actually function once again (low amperes, moderate voltage). However, the latter successes were few in number and would not satisfy the H3 scientists until they actually managed to get the brains to start up from cold sleep. Whatever amounted out of this research, they would have to produce results quickly as their supplies of cadavers would certainly rot soon after being outside of the liquid nitrogen tanker trucks.

Gordon Freeman, just getting off of the phone with Jai Resi of Resi Corp, eagerly awaits the arrival of his newly purchased advanced CPUs and non-magnetic virtual memory modules. Progress in the bioengineering section of the project had seen some positive results today with subject 92-F. Reading a current of 0.32 Amperes and 21 volts, a human brain was reanimated to the point where endocrins were produced. But shortly after it went dead, reigning disappointment throughout the facility. However, despite the small setback, research continued long into the night...

Another success in the biological engineering department of this experiment had been accomplished this very week with an advancement yet again in brain functionality. Shortly after one subject had managed to produce endocrins with the stimulus of low amps and voltage, another test was conducted for nervous system control. Using many diodes hooked up to multiple areas of a human arm, 0.32 amperes and 21 volts were pumped in in intervals of every 0.02 seconds. To the scientists' great satisfaction, this combination perfectly simulated the motion of the arm grasping a pencil.

Working for several days around the clock, the researchers were able to create high-strength armor and joints, capable of being worn for long periods of time. Each piece of armor contains special nanolayering(lol) to create a substance capable of being used for extended periods.
The power supplies were creating mixed results. While they had developed them able to be outfitted onto the armor suits, they were having slight difficulties:they were either running out of energy extremely quickly, or they would short out, creating an explosion of sparks. Believing they have a way to cure this, the Black Mesa scientists take a quick brainstorming break, before heading back to the labs.

"Mr. Freeman, those processing and memory components you ordered are coming in today, I just got the confirmation from the Resi supplier."
"Excellent, get the Sector C team prepped and working on it pronto."
"Yes sir."
"Any idea when today they'll arrive?"
"Not exactly sure, probably within 5 hours."
"Good, good. The President will be pleased to learn of our quick progress."

"Dr. Brewerton, so nice to see you after that Tiberium incident. How's it going?"
"Just fine Earl, just fine. I've just been assigned to this project personally by Mr. Freeman to assist you in the brain research."
"Excellent, the more help we can get the better. What assignment did you get exactly?"
"Well he said that he needed more scientists working on a way to preserve the brain matter, to keep it alive, for extended periods."
"Ah yes, we were waiting for you to arrive. We just got the blood-plasma rehabilitation chamber in; we're hoping that'll help rejuvenate them."
"Yeah, that's what I've been told to work on. I'll see you around..."
"Yep, anytime Dr. Brewerton."

"Today Subject 546 exhibited a strange anomoly I haven't seen in any of the other specimens. Using the same control electricity levels as yesterday, I noticed that the hand seemed to curl into a fist on its own, regardless of the electricity pulse. Could it be that we reactivated the brain?
While this may be a question of great importance, I may unfortunately not get the chance to directly observe the outcome of my theory. Starting next week I will be reassigned to the cybernetics division, to work with the new Chaoticore CPU and BioNet chemical memory modules...definitely not as exciting as my current research... but valueable nonetheless to the Empire."

In the loading docks contains 500 crates, ornately stacked and brandishing the suave and stylish "Resi Corporation" logo. The "hardware" had arrived.
"O'Reily, load those boxes on the hovlift and bring them to hanger C3. Got that?"
"Yep. What're these things for anyhow?"
"Well, it's got somethin' to do with that new project Freeman instated. He's got guys running around all over Black Mesa doing stuff. Crazy shit I think... but what the hell."
The two custodians, completely unaware of the top secret operation going on right under their noses, continue to banter back and forth in complete ignorance. Taking what seemed like 4 hours, all 500 crates make their way to the hanger where the Sector C team awaits testing of the new CPUs and R/W-M chips...

"Tomorrow I will no longer be working with the biological research division due to Administrator Huard's 'rescheduling.'
Despite this set back, I am immeasureably happy to conclude that Subject 546 has indeed been ressurrected.... slightly. Although I doubt it is possible to bring back 'the person' inside the brain, from what I have witnessed today I can say with sanity that it is possible to reactivate the biological functions of the brain such as the hypothalymus gland's body temperature regulation, the central cortex, and the hormone glands. The only part I have doubts about reactivating is the cerebral cortex... but given our assignment, I don't think Gordon is interested in reviving that part...
I guess now I should probably prepare myself to deal with the next phase of this project, the computer components."

"Progress so far is splendid. We were able to transfer the computer components into the skulls of Subjects 206, 207, and 209 with little difficulty. As I speak the technicians are rewiring the nervous system to become compatible with the new hardware, and should be finished by dusk.
Also, work on the Tesla Gun has begun in WeapRes Hanger. Initial tests show extreme high voltage (close to 540 million) is enough to get a concentrated beam of electricity to pummel through a 5ft plate of Tryotallo. Accuracy is still something to be desired, but that's the next area to be tweaked."

"We have successfully attached the memory and CPU components to each of the nerve endings in the CNS as of 7:45AM today. Dr. Brewerton and his team suspect that the electrical input to power the brain and these components together for long term will be enormous, but that's why we have a power generator being developed...
...Also, the Tesla Gun seemed to have been slightly improved since last week's demonstration. Dr. John Ellsworth, a well-known colleague of mine and fellow electrical theorist, has come up with a prototype EMF device that propells large amounts of electons in a forward spread (via an ultra high occilating magnetic pulse), which will be fitted onto the current assembly tomorrow."

"The Tesla Gun's first trial using the new EMF device was a complete success. A 490-million volt beam was shot across a distance of 150 yards at a large 5m^3 block of Tryotallo, with the main beam hitting it and several branched-off beams hitting random nearby objects. Our next primary focus of this device will be finishing the power supply..."

"Gordon, Gordon, Gordon. What do you have for me this time?"
"Well Mr. President, Project Über Soldat is going as planned. So far we have met all secondary objectives leading into the power supply generator. We have established a biological computer component, a Tesla Gun, and the Aegis armor is 96% complete. The power generators will arrive shortly once we finalize the deal with Frapuccino, who claims to have a device that is well above the standards we are looking for."
"Well above?"
"Yes, well above. You see, we were looking for a generator the size of a car battery that could output 2 megawatts; Frappuccino's device can output 150 megawatts and is merely twice the size of a VHS tape. Quite impressive I'd say, and it can last up to 275 years with constant power output."
"My God, that is good. With that much electricity the Tesla Gun could melt an entire Mammoth Panzer in almost an instant."
"Yes, that is the idea. In addition to the Tesla Gun, we are fitting on a 25mm anti-personnel cannon, a shoulder-mounted BFG10k plasma cannon, and the last weapon will be variable. Some may have flamethrowers, some may have stinger missiles, some may have a shoulder-mounted mortar cannon... pretty much any weapon there is. Some last-minute designs we just came up with the in the lab today are interior anti-electronic warfare countermeasures, and an short-range ultra frequency EMP bomb. That way if the enemy is too tough for our weapons, we will get in close and detonate the EMP, which in turn will shut down the enemy C&C, and if the other soldiers have their countermeasures turned on, then they can continue to fight."
"Excellent idea Gordon. Projected date of completion?"
"Within 3 weeks from now."
"Good, very good."
Hitler III

The situation was indeed going as planned. The deal with Frappuccino had been finalized, and the new electrical generator hardware was slated to arrive in bulk within 72 hours.
The final piece of the puzzle that needed to be finished before the soldiers could be produced was the Aegis-class body armor. Although the type of material chosen to make the armor had been selected, there were a few remaining inconsistencies to work out before they could be plated onto the bodies. Problems with high-level magnetic fields, and a lack of resistance to harmonic resonance technology have halted the immediately implementation of the armor, but the H3 and US scientists working on the project forecasted that they could fix the issue within the new projected production deadline.
