The announcer smiled at the camera, and said in a pleasant, beautiful voice: "Welcome, again, to another weekly public execution on the Pukvision Public Execution Network! As you may know, the Minister of Internal Affairs has increased the televising of public executions from daily to hourly, as a deterrent to the recent crime wave that has hit this nation. However, this hour, we have a super special treat -- the execution of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Eithin Lokwan!"

The camera focused on Ryoko's eyes -- clear and pleading. Shining like they were made of black glass, as she watched her father being brought onto stage. She did all she could to suppress the anger and the wrenching sadness inside of her. It was supposed to be a simple execution of a public official. As are the laws of the nation, when the execution of a public official occurs, their family is required to watch. But... they are not supposed to get in the way. She didn't listen to the announcer's commentary, or to the rants of the so-called experts brought onstage to explain what was happening and why it happened. She focused on her father's face, her mind reverberating with and endless rush of memories of the kind, smiling man who was her father.

The guards seated Ryoko, her sister Kyoko, and her mother Ella. Ryoko was just a young girl, 12 years old. The top student of the nation. She was aspiring to be a biochemist. She knew the ceremony. She knew that the family, when viewing the execution, are not to make a sound. Not to divert their eyes. To watch the execution in all it's glory and beauty. Such are the rites. Her father, Eithir Lokwan, was to be beheaded, as is the tradition. Public Officials are giving the high honor of being beheaded for their crimes. Common criminals are shot in the street and their bodies left there to rot. Visitors to Baconasia's City-States are appalled by the skeletons and the decaying corpses that line the city streets. But the Fathers made it clear -- Common criminals are to be shown no respect, not even after death. They are nothing. They are worse than nothing. They are not even human. There are no trials here. There are no prisons. Instant execution when caught committing a crime. That is the Way and the Law, and it cannot be changed.

Lokwan's crime was one of the most grievous, causing great dishonor and embarassment to the State. He was the Minister of International Affairs, and in a written address to the International Community, he made a typographical error. His Esteemed Highness the Pope Emperor Ape Puk caught this, and was extremely outraged. He ordered Lokwan's execution.

Lokwan was brought on stage, and forced into his execution chair. His arms, legs and head were restrained. The Imperial Guards decided to have some fun with him before he was killed, which is perfectly acceptable. Even encouraged. They played a common game called "break the stick," in which they hit the body harder and harder until their batons break. The first guard to break his baton wins. If the body screams, they get to hit it twice. If the body dies before their game is done, the guards are also executed. It is not their place to execute a public official, and this is considered a High Crime and Misdeameanor. However, the official's family are not afforded the same courtesies.

They began their game. Ryoko and her sister, Kyoko, were deperately holding back from crying. Ella had a glazed, emotionless look on her face, but, inside she was torn and twisted. After the third hit, Ryoko could no longer hold her tears back. Ella became deathly afraid, and said in an audible whisper: "Stop it! Stop it now!" But, it was too late -- one of the guards had noticed. He grabbed Ryoko by her silken black hair and forced her to the floor, raising his baton to smash her skull. She started screaming and clawing at the guard. He pulled off the end of his baton, exposing a 6' steel blade. With two quick motions, he slashed open her chest and her throat. She fell to the floor, gurgling sounds coming from the blood pouring out of her slashed throat.

"That'll shut her up," the guard said, cackling. He then removed the machete from his belt and hacked off her head, dropping it into Lokwan's lap. "You should have taught the little bi--- the proper procedures."

Kyoko screamed. The guards grabbed her and her mother, and forced them to their knees. They placed their revolvers to the back of the women's necks, and blasted part of their heads off. Lokwan screamed again, his white suit covered with flecks of his wife's and daughter's brain and skull matter.

The announcer said in a cheery, enthusiastic voice, "Ladies and Gentlemen! This is certainly exciting today! Possibly the best televised execution we've ever had!!! Please give a warm welceome to T'il Drakkus, High Public Executioner!"

The audience cheered as the Executioner came onto stage. He pulled the black cover off his heavy axe, the blade gleaming in the spotlights from the camera. With one quick stroke, he severed Lokwan's head. Nonchalantly, he replaced the black cover and left the stage.

Ttelevision announcer, a beautiful buxom blond woman in her mid-20s, watched with a perverted satisfaction. She said seen many executions before, but this one was the most exciting. She turned her beautiful face and smiled at the camera, her teeth perfectly white, her lips perfectly pink.

"There you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen! Please join us next week for our very special 3 hour presentation: World's Greatest Executions of the Past 20 Years! That will be a remarkable program, and sure to be one of our best!"

The theme music played as the image faded into the end credits.

The Pukvision Public Execution Channel would have the highest ratings ever!
