Yesterday, - a day which will live in infamy – the ANZAC nations were suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and land forces of The Peoples Anthill and its allies (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1630235&highlight=#1630235).

All ANZACs were at peace and, ignorant of the intentions of The Peoples Anthill, looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific regions.

Indeed, at no time since the attacks commenced, has any ambassador of The Peoples Anthill to any of the ANZAC nations delivered any formal declaration of war against such nations.

It will be recorded that the distance of Australia and New Zealand from The Peoples Anthill makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many weeks or even months ago. During the intervening time, the Leader of The Peoples Anthill has deliberately sought to deceive all nations, and the Australian nations in particular, by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=540982&highlight=#540982).

The attack yesterday on the ANZAC nations has caused severe damage to ANZAC military forces. Very many ANZAC lives have been lost, and it is the stated intention of The Peoples Anthill to enslave the remaining individuals to serve as “cells” for this evil, and murderous, regime and its allies.

Yesterday, The Peoples Anthill and its allies attacked Australia.

Yesterday, The Peoples Anthill and its allies attacked New Zealand.

Yesterday, The Peoples Anthill vowed to attack Indonesia.

Malaysia will follow.

The world will not be far behind.

The Peoples Anthill has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The ANZAC people have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our great nations.

ANZAC nations have directed that all measures be taken for their defence.

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the ANZAC people, in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory.

"Today we are informed that the great republic of the Anzacs has been attacked in a sinister fashion. The Inner Soviet has examined the matter and has determined that there is a direct threat against North America and the Batavian Soviet Union.

I have taken these steps to prepair our nation for any action if needed.

If Wyrmberg sends any forces, then they will be entirely composed of Flying Corps divisions. However, the flying corps makes up about 75% of the entire armed forces, with the navy making up 20% and the land-based troops only 5%.

However, the Wyrmbergii Flying Corps is a little... shall we say... unconventional. It is composed of men riding on the backs of creatures known as Firedrakes. They are trained to fight both in the air, and at close quarters on the ground.
These creatures are similar to dragons (in fact, they are derived from Tolkeinesque dragons - I had a thread about how they came into being, but it seems to have dissapeared), but smaller (about as long as 2 cars end-to-end, but quite slender - a Firedrake's torso is about the same size as that of a rhino, it just has log legs, a long, serpentine tail and neck, and a pointed muzzle).

Firedrakes (for reasons I explained in that thread, and may explain later if necessary) have intelligence equal to that of a human and, while they cannot speak vocally, have limited telempathic powers(not spelling mistake - they can sense emotions from a distance, and communicate by projecting their thoughts and emotions to others).

In battle, they can breathe fire (v. short range - about 5 meters - but as hot as n oxy-acetylene(sp?) cutting torch), but their main weapons are their claws. They can also emit a mental scream, into which they sink all their feelings of fear and rage. This has the double effect of calming the Firedrake (kinda like Primal Scream Therapy), and greatly unnerving the enemy. After a few times the element of surprise is lost, but when used well it can be quite effective.

On the downside, the Wyrmbergii army has never been the most high-tech organisation - the nation is more into magic than technology, although magic is seldom used on the battlefield - sourcerers seldom make good soldiers.

At present, the most advanced weapon available to the flying corps is a machine gun, and many troops still use simple semi-automatic rifles (about 50:50 machine-gun-to-rifle ratio). All riders also carry a sword and a shield (Kevlar) for ceremonial reasons, although in close combat these can be put to deadly effect.

Drakeriders wear leather tunics reinforced with Kevlar ringmail (Kevlar technology was bought from an allied nation, but traditions are important in Wyrmberg, so it was used to make improved chainmail!) The Firedrakes wear armour similar to that of medieval warhorses, except ithat this too is made of Kevlar.

That's why im offering ork boyz as mercenaries, it pays for itself.

OOC: Yeah, I know. What can I say, I'm a fantasy based nation. I had a good reason for all the stuff in that post, but it was all in the thread that went bye-bye and I haven't got a copy of it where I am now.

Basically, the storyline behind Wyrmberg is a continuation of Tolkein books like The Silmarileon(sp?) and Lord Of The Rings, through the however-many ages in between, to today. Legend goes that some of Melkors followers wanted to go back to Eru, blah blah, needed a gift to buy back favour, blah, found one of Melkor's dragons and reverse-engineered it, used it as basis for new race - Firedrakes - to as companions and helpers for the Children of Eru (Elves, Men) and their allies (Dwarves etc.). Eru liked what he saw, and promised them return to the Blessed Isle when, and only when, both men, elves and dwarves lived in harmony with the Firedrakes.

There's also some actual, original Dragon blood in the Firedrake line, but I won't go into that now...

The Dominion of MOunt Eagle mobilizes its forces. We support ANZAC.

At this time, Marno is declairing itself neutral in this conflict. At this time, we see no treat to us or The Dark Soverin. As a pre-cautionary more, we raising our Defcon to Stage 3 form Stage 1. We have finished our combat mission over Drewster and are making ready for a possablity for a second conflict. We use our exapmles in what we did in Drewster, shown on world wide tv, as evedince of what we are capable of.

I will reinterrate, at this time we see no need for our military involviment and are neutral in this conflict.

The Nomadic Peoples (soon to be Republic) of Amphib Guinea has chosen to support ANZAC against The Peoples' Anthill's heinous attack. However, due to Amphib Guinea's relative young age, it's dwarfed size, and it's inadequate army, Amphib Guinea will not be joining in any upcoming battles.
