VanirArms / Tanks-artillery-APATV-Infantry Eqp +++(Up:10/10)

25-09-2003, 12:05
For the moment, we will present the specifications on some of our ground based combat units, and later on the gear carried by our infantry. As buyers will experience, we have invested much in the development of nano-tech, and all armour is made by a nanotube fibre solution roughly 8 times stronger than conventional steel, and 1/10 the weight. This weight reduction allows for larger fuel and ammunition stores in vehicles than what is normally found.

Please note that max speed for vehicles listed is on motorways or equivalent.

UPDATE:
-In order to make the Betelguese APATV more desireable to other nations, we are releasing all kits but the Titan for export.
-Releasing the Imperial Guard Battle Suit specs to probe for interrested buyers. Not releasing for export yet.

Sirius MkI Light Tank

-Description:
The Sirius MkI is ideal as a support vehicle for supply convoys or Orion MBT's. It also works well as an assault tank where speed is favoured over heavy armour. It's quick enough to take an unprepared enemy by suprise, but still carries enough firepower to pose a threat to other light vehicles and infantry, should these be deplyed against it. Useful on the front line to flank enemies, and very practical to have at-the-ready for times when you might need reinforcements quickly further away than you have time to send heavier tanks.

-Armament:
The Sirius' main gun is an 80mm smoothbore cannon, firing AP or HE shells. It also features a 12,7mm heavy machine gun, tower mounted, serving as AA-gun or crowd-pleaser.

-Armour:
Tower, 50cm NT fibers
Front, 45mm NT fibers
Side, 30mm NT fibers
Rear, 30mm NT fibers

Orion MkI Main Battle Tank

-Description:
The Orion MkI is a main battle tank, designed first and foremost to combat enemy armour. It is quick enough to advance into enemy territory at a reasonable pace as it is conquered, but falls short of the Sirius MkI in speed by a long shot. On the other hand, it carries significant amounts of firepower, and is heavily armoured enough to withstand a direct hit from most anti-tank weaponry.

-Armament:
The Orion has a 175mm smoothbore cannon as its main gun, firing AP or HE shells. It has a tower-mounted 12,7mm heavy machine gun, serving as AA-defense. The Orion also features two nose-mounted twin light MG's, cal. 7,65mm.

-Armour:
Tower, 80cm NT fibers
Front, 80mm NT fibers
Side, 65mm NT fibers
Rear, 45mm NT fibers

Hercules Heavy Tank

-Description:
The Hercules is a behemoth on the battlefield. It is big, slow, heavy, and packs a brutal punch. The low speed and sheer size of the thing makes the Hercules an easy target for basically anything on the battlefield - carpet bombing included. On the other hand, it can withstand a horrendous amount of damage, and the armament it carries is simply intimidating. The Hercules is _not_ a main battle tank, for many reasons. First, it is much too slow to manuever efficciently around any battlefield. Second, it is too heavy to be supported by small bridges, and thus cannot advance into enemy territory as quickly as is often required. Third, it is simply too expensive to risk destruction after breaching the enemy frontline, where the enemy could simply call in airstrikes to blow it off the map. It is, however, extremely useful in situations where you want to fortify a position before moving deeper into enemy land with for instance Orion MBT's, or slowly push the enemy lines backwards. The Hercules main purpose is to play a defensive role in any campaign.

-Armament:
The Hercules Heavy Tank has a dual 220mm cannon tower as its main emplacement, firing AP, HE, IN or Depleted Uranium shells. Behind the tower are two missile ramps for launching VanirArms Stella Ground-To-Air missiles, range 25km. It carries two tower-mounted coaxial 15,5mm gatling guns, as well as four nose-mounted twin MG's, cal. 12,7mm.

-Armour:
Tower, 220cm NT fibers
Front, 180mm NT fibers
Side, 120mm NT fibers
Rear, 80mm NT fibers

Algol Heavy Artillery

-Description:
The Algol is a self-propelled long range heavy artillery cannon. It is designed to stay well behind the fighting forces, as it has practically no means to defend itself from hostiles. It should be backed up with light tanks, such as the Sirius, at all times.

-Armament:
One 400mm artillery cannon (not applicable while not stationary). One top-mounted 12,7mm heavy machine gun (not appclicable while stationary). Main gun ROF: 1rpm. Main gun effective range: 250km.

Betelguese All-Purpose ATV

-Description:
The Betelguese is a somewhat unconventional vehicle, sold as a chassis, and with "add-ons" sold separately. It has excellent speed and mobility, is descently armoured, and can, as the name suggest, perform multiple different tasks. It can be utilized as a construction vehicle, field repair vehicle, to clear minefields, as a mobile AA-artillery piece, as "infantry-killer", as a potent anti-tank weapon, or fast scouting vehicle. Because of this diversity, we are only interrested in selling the Betelguese chassis with the construction and field repair add-on kits. We also want to direct a thank you to the helpful engineers and scientists in the Albananian army, as they were most helpful in the development of this vehicle.

-Armament:
The Betelguese uses slots on the side of the main body to attach add-on kits. These kits have different functions, and the Betelguese chassis is secured so only digitally signed VanirArms original kits may be inserted. This is simply to avoid abuse, so that civillian corporations in posession of a Betelguese chassis with a construction kit cannot remove this kit and insert their own machinegun kit. A safety measure.
The kits available are these:
-Construction
One pair of lifter arms capable of elevating up to 400kg/800lbs each, 7 hydraulic slots for insertion of tools such as pneumatic hammers, drills, painters, and so forth on extended rods. One electric arch welder on retractable rod. All parts can be rotated in a semispheric manner in front of the chassis. Max speed 60kmh.
-Field repair
Two electric arch welders on retractable rods. One pneumatic hammer on retractable rod. One lifter arm capable of lifting 500kg/1000lbs. One arm with a laser cutter, range 2 meters, for slicing through any armour it may have to remove or adjust. Max speed 85kmh.
-Minotaur
A light, fast tank-killer kit for the betelguese. It features two TOW-missile launchers, mounted on top of the Betelguese torso. It also carry a light flamethrower in front of the torso, with one fuel tank mounted on the rear. the tank is surrounded by 65mm NT fiber armour, and carry 250 liters of fuel, allowing the flamethrower to fire continously for about 2,5 minutes. The Minotaur carries 50 TOW-missiles with it. Max speed 90kmh.
-Hades
An add-on kit designed specifically to bring down airplanes. 4 rocket pods, each carrying 24 Stella Ground-To-Air missiles, are mounted on the rear. These have a ROF of 4 missiles pr. second - each. On the front 4x88mm flak-cannons are mounted, set to fire in succession. ROF on each flak-cannon is 60rpm. On each side is two 20mm gatling cannons, firing at 360rpm, making a Hades-Betelguese in total a flak-cannon with a ROF of 240rpm, a 20mm gatling firing 1440rpm, and the ability to launch 96 anti-air missiles in 6 seconds. All ammo is mounted low on the kit. The missile pods are, naturally, not reloadable. The gatling cannons have 480 shells, making them able to fire for 2 minutes straight. The gatlings carry 2000 rounds, giving them just over 1 minute constant firing. For best results, keep the Hades well supplied with ammunition trucks. It takes approximately 15 seconds to replace the gatling ammunition cache, and about one minute to replace that of the flak cannons. A Hades-Betelguese must be stationary to fire anything but the gatling cannons. Max speed 50kmh.
-Hydra
2 heavy flamethrowers mounted low on the chassis torso, at 6 feet over ground standing upright. 2 fuel tanks for flamethrowers, surrounded by 80mm armour, mounted high on the chassis back. 4x12,7mm gatlings in front of torso, firing each gun in succession, giving a ROF of 360rpm for each set of MG's. It also sports a 40mm autocannon mounted in the lower center of the torso, capable to fire HE or AP rounds. The rate of fire rather low, at only 120rpm. The ammunition carried for the Hydra kit is 360 liters of fuel pr. tank, allowing constant firing of flamethrowers for 3 minutes each. It carries 4320 rounds for the HVY MG's. It carries 100 rounds for the autocannon, giving it little less than one minute constant firing. This kit is developed for hit-and-run operations againt enemy infantry fortifications, trenches and such. Highly efficient against regular infantry and light vehicles. Its heavy machineguns can be turned upwards to fire at airplanes, but this is _not_ advisable in a combat situation. The Hydra was never designed for AA service. Max speed 55kmh.
-Zeus
This kit makes the Betelguese an equivalent to a MBT. It carries a 120mm cannon under its torso, which can be fired during movement due to pneumatic shock absorbers supporting the cannon. It has a 15,5mm gatling cannon mounted on each sides of the upper torso, each with a ROF of 420rpm. The Zeus kit also features a TOW-missile launcher mounted on top of the torso, between the two gatlings, and adds more armour to the Betelguese chassis. It increases the front armour itself with an additional 45mm, and another 45mm behind. The sides gain 30mm more armour. It also puts a chunk of good old-fashioned 60mm armoured steel 15cm in front of the torso, to take direct hits more efficciently than any other kit for the Betelguese. The Zeus-Betelguese carries 20 shells for the 120mm cannon, 15 TOW-missiles, and 4200 15,5mm rounds, giving the miniguns a total of 5 minutes continuos firing. Max speed 60kmh.

I will take 100 Sirius tanks, 100 Orion tanks, and 100 Hercules tanks, how much does that cost in USD?
25-09-2003, 19:27
600 million USD for the Sirius's and the Orions, that's a 50 million discount for Jhera Noctus. A price has not been set for the Hercules, simply because of its massive destructive potency... Also, seeing as it is big, slow and heavy, a hundred of them would be out of proportion to the two hundred lesser tanks purchased. I would not advise you to purchase a full one hundred of them, but if you insist, I am sure we could negotiate a good price. In any case, we will ship the Sirius's and Orions as soon as we recieve payment in full, 600 million $.

As for Blur111, 300 Orions would be 1,2bn USD, which is a 150 million off. Still, I doubt your economy would allow the purchase, or in any case the support.
25-09-2003, 20:06
Alright, you got it! *600 million USD wired* Thank you in advance. Get back to me on the Hercules tankls as soon as possible.
26-09-2003, 07:20
*Tanks shipped out*

Thank you for the purchase. As for the Hercules, I would prefer negotiation through telegrams, if this is not a problem. We await your initial offer for a per piece price.

*50 Hercules heavy tanks shipped to Jhera Noctus in exchange for an undisclosed sum.*

Yet another BUMP in the road.
02-10-2003, 11:27
Bugandia wishes to know when the other kits for the Betelgeuse become available, as well as specs on the infantry equipment.

Thank you for your time.
02-10-2003, 12:46
The extra kits will become available on popular demand, but if someone requests a Betelgeuse for some spesific purpose (ie tank hunting), I could suggest the appropriate kit. I would then release it for export if the order exceeded 100 units.
The best thing with the Betelgeuse chassis, is that you can have one chassis, and 5 kits, and you could switch between the kits as needed. This would of course take at best 6 hours with a constructor-kit equipped Betelgeuse to help, but still. Versality!

As for infantry, we´re thinking releasing the specs in a day or two (RL time).
