The Firen Civil War

25-09-2003, 01:22
Firen has erupted into war.

As some remember, the highly contested Firen Election resulted in the narrow victory of one J. Revanin, a straight-on socialist who advocated multinationalism, over the incumbent John Blazin, who disillusioned voters by saying capitalism was possibly on the way. Also in the race was the radical Zonin Regal, the former Minister of Defence. Early in the race, Blazin and Revanin were almost equal in votes, with Regal lagging behind. But Regal started gaining momentum, due to the relatively heavily communist Southern Firen. Despite this, he dropped out of the race under mysterious circumstances, and Revanin pulled ahead.

After becoming PM, Revanin gave Blazin the position of Secritary of the Interior, and Head Ambassitor.

What followed was a surprising military arming, and a huge economic slump that left the citizens furious at Revanin. Then, Revanin handed the economic reigns to Blazin, who greatly increased the economy. Now, Revanin has taken back the control of the now-stabilized economy, fearful that Blazin was making the country too capitalistic, even though Firen is already a moderate socialist state.

Then, the uprising occurred.

Angry at the economic depression, and even moreso at the increased capitalism, the hard-line communists have surged, led by, apparently, Regal himself. The military was unable to retaliate, due to great corruption in the officer's ranks. Revanin and his cabinet were able to escape the capital of Firea, leaving the communists firmly in control of the country. The military is in disarray, making a Socialist retaliation almost impossible.

Now, it is in your hands. Who will you support? The almost centrist Socialists, or the radical Communists in control?

Adornian President James Forrest sat in his office, drinking his morning coffee. He glances down at the various reports on his desk.
"A civil war in Firen, eh? A total coup..."
He turns to his Aide.
"Contact their Goverenment-in-Exile. They might want help"
"Very good, sir."
