"This is Captain Alex Milajohvic, of PRoK Space Exploration, aboard the Carrier "Finar". We come in peace. We are here on a humanitarian mission to transfer 18,540,000 Xanthaltians to KommelianBerg, as was agreed by our two Governments recently.
We request permission to enter Xanthaltian space and procede with our mission".

Bump.
"We were planning to send them to you, but thanks for saving us the trouble. Approach Aellis IV. Close to 10,000 kilometers and the refugees will be beamed aboard your vessels. Keep all weapons and shields down at all times, we don't want any incidents."

"Setting course for Aellis IV Captain Milajohvic..." reported the onboard AI.
Something caught Milajohvic's attention. On the Command console to his right, something bright green flashed. He peered closer. "Turn off Arnaments and Shields as requested by Xanthal?"
"I cant turn the shields off....but I dont want a situation on my hands, I just want to go in and then get the hell out of here." Milajohvic decided carefully to lower shield power to 70% and command his gunner's to stand down from any actions.
However, as a precaution, SA-43 Pilots had been assembled, Soldiers had been posted all over the ship to prevent any possible take-over via transport insertion and the Mk III Capsule Space-Folding drive had been prepped, as to aid any speeding retreat.
"Finar, relay the following message to Xanthal" Milajohvic announced, rising from his Command on the deck of the massive operations room. "Cannot lower shield's lower than 70%. Arnaments are silent, and will remain so. Awaiting first transportation of 200,000".
The Finar careened to port, moving into position for destination, and then blasting towards it...
"Check your speed Finar, there is heavy traffic in this area. We apologize, but you must lower your shields to 10% or below. Otherwise our transporters will not be able to deliver the refugees aboard."

Milhajovic addressed the ship's AI again. "Begin assesment of Xanthal defences."
"Captain, an assesment of Xanthal defences can only be achieved by operating the ship's Heavy Asqullion Radar."
"But the Asqullion will emit specific frequencies, detectable and traceable...damn it." said Milhajovic.
"Send all previous logs to SED Command on Earth." The AI set upon it's task in nano-seconds, but for the logs to reach SED Command on Earth would take some 7 hours, plus another 7 if they choosed to respond.
"Ping for other ships in this area."
The AI sent a Level 8 Radar pulse out onto the stars. It was just under comfortable radar emission protocol, set by SED Command.
"Decrease thrust by 85%. Record and send the following."
"I cannot possibly do that Xanthal. By order's of the PRoK Army SED, Carriers are never in foreign territory to lower shield strength below 70%. To breeche this order would constitute a mutinious action, and I would loose my rank, among other things...
Let us put aside Transporters for the moment, and consider this. Aboard Finar, there are 50 ISSACPs. We could launch them to collect the refugee's off the planet's surface. Or carry out a surface landing ourselves, for a direct quick boarding aboard Finar."
"Unacceptable. Aellis IV is a prison planet, we cannot allow security to be breached. If you cannot lower your shields then I suggest you simply go back to KommelianBerg territory. The dissidents will be transported by Xanthalian craft over the next month."

Milahjovic read carefully over the latest Xanthal transmission. "Prison Planet? Far be it for me to discern where best to keep dissidents, but what have these people done wrong? Retaining individuality in the face of state oppression is not a crime surely?" he thought.
"How long will food supplies aboard Finar last us at present rate of consumption?" Milahjovic commanded. "Finar's food supplies, at present rate of consumption, will last 4 months."
"I have the option of waiting til the Xanthaltians transport the refugee's and join them as an escort..."
"Relay the following message to Xanthal; Finar is prepared to wait for a month. We could act as an escort."
We were unaware that any fight had begun between DNS and the Xanthal empire
Xanthal DNS do you need any assisatance?
The fight is over Fleetworlds. Don't sweat it.
"There will be one convoy per day for the next thirty days. You may accompany as many of them as you wish. Aellis IV out."

"Aellis IV, agreed. Thank you."
Milajohvic sighed with relief, believing firmly that any possible misunderstanding with the Xanthaltians had been avoided by dialogue rather than deathray.
#This RP could be over now, but I'm gonna shake things up a bit, just for kicks.#
A smaller vessel rockets past at high speed, headed for Aellis IV. On intercom frequencies Xanthalian system traffic control stations can be heard frantically trying to contact the craft, but it is making no replies. It passes the 7,000 kilometers out marker. Weapons on the planet's surface and on orbital platforms can be read activating and placing their sights on the rapidly incoming spaceship.

"Finar" Milajohvic shouted, "Raise Shields to 100% Deploy Gunners to all stations, execute HAR!". "Sir, Xanthal may be hostile to the use of such definitive radar, they may determine such action as spying." said Commander Lipinski quickly.
"Comrade Lipinski, your opinion is duly noted, now shut up! We may be about to be attacked! Finar, I want the Shuttle Bay on Vidphone!" cried Milajohvic with zest. It was finally becoming exciting, but Captain Milajohvic was letting the adventure go to his head.
The vast Shuttle Bay appeared on Vidphone. Pilots, Technical, Repair and Maintenance and Logistical Crew stood awaiting orders anxiously. "Prepare for launch, an engagement is likely" Milajohvic said quietly, trying to regain his former Demure.
The Operational Commanders begin blowing whistles wildly, the instruction for Pilots to rush to their Fighters. Logistics Crew hurriedly loaded SA-43s with ordnance. The Shuttle Bay become a frenzy of activity. And then receded into the black depths of the Vidphone.
"Finar, send the following message. Halt fire Aellis IV until the ships's destination and objective can be determined!" said Milajohvic briskly.
"We cannot comply. Security of Aellis IV cannot be breached."
As the ship closes to 6,000 kilometers, the planet's defenses finish activating. A single message is broadcast. "Unidentified vessel; break off immediately. You will be destroyed at 5,000 kilometers. This is your only warning."

Milahjovic waited in anxiety as the communications officer tried to alert the interloper. Meanwhile, Finar was ready for any outcome. Finar, KommelianBerg's only inter-stellar vessel, was embarking upon her first real combat situation.
The crew were eager, yet also nervous, and a little scared. Space combat was no small thing. There was the fear of hull breeches, being sucked into the airless expanse of space, being boarded or just plain annihilated.
The HAR analysis had been conducted. Milahjovic was assessing the data.
[OOC: Some information on Aellis IVs defences?]
OOC: Aellis IV's defenses are very good, and can fend off many small ships. They cannot deal with starships, but XIA craft are always on system patrol to deal with bigger threats. Aellis IV also has planetary shielding to protect it until aid can reach it in such situations.
IC: At 5,000 kilometers the small craft is destroyed by planetary defenses. The threat eliminated, the planet's weapons begin to power down again.

"Sir, Aellis IV's defence systems have destroyed the vessel..." said the communications officer. "There were no survivors."
The operations room slowed for a moment, reflecting on the fate of the mysterious vessel.
"This information is useless....we dont know where it came from, who commanded, nothing..." said Milahjovic throwing away the HAR's results.
"Send all logs of this event to SED and the External Affairs ministry." said Milahjovic with a twinge of regret in his voice. "Nothing more can be done."
