Hainan conducts military excercise!

While Hainan wishes to be neutral in the growing chaos (we say so at least  ), the brutal murder of Chiang Maian merchants (or something like that) has made that wish more difficult (hint hint).

Military manuevers are being carried out in the few areas of the countryside where they are possible, and the (quite obsolete) Hainanese Air Force is expected to join in.

(I knew the SOW should have worked on getting more spies further than just Karachi. Oh well [parades about, oblivious, in Cavalry Cruiser MkIII tank])

(tell your spies that my Shturmoviks are immune to all your newfangled jet fighters  Bah, my I-6 killed all my good test pilots in uncontrollable spins).

Just asking, what year tech should we use? I mean you have cruiser tanks but Iansisle has supersonic jet fighters... :?

Hainan, I resent that................

I suppose Ercolana will have to show you how well a T-34 reacts to a few well placed Rocket rounds.

Just suppose, for a moment, that the "Anti-Terror Army" was a foreigner trying to mock America? I mean, plenty of Democrats and Liberals resort to insulting and plainly mocking the president and his policies by following what their parents say instead of actually forming their own opinions, but so do lots of people from different countries. Such as, The Palestine Empire.

ooc: Iansisle's supersonic jets were announced sort of too soon (if the ..Derby? I'm thinking of is the jet you mean), I think, and he's not going to use them for the war, unless other people start using post war stuff against him. That's how I understand it at the moment, but I don't want to speak for him.

I think most of us actually are early war tech for the most part. Some of us were put into a panic and started to race on when we saw your jet migs and super battleships, but I'm trying to slow it down. WoS is only now building her first aircraft carriers- none are fully complete and 3 out of 5 are tiny converted merchant ships- and begining to design its first heavy bomber. I think it'll be more fun to have fairly primitive tech at first, then we all get chances to bring out new wonder weapons one at a time so the war swings back and forth.

Or maybe I'm just thinking about it too much ;)

ooc: Seriously though I think we are really getting ahead of ourselves. The war isn't even in its infant stages, at a time when German Tank divisions were still being filled up by Panzer I and II's, yet here Jet fighters and Rocket Wagons are already in use. If it keeps up at this rate I will start to really get fed up.

I also realize I am not immune to this massive tech proliferation as I have some advanced items myself.

If you guys want to do a real early-cold war rp thats fine with me, but if not I suggest we slow things down a bit.

ooc:yeah- don't worry, I still have a Hawker Hurricane rip-off as my most prolific fighter. You've no idea how long I've been wanting to bring our a super-marching tank (ie.something to rival late mark Churchills) but ..must..resist.

I've a main air force of 1938 Russian monoplane fighters, and some us Buffalos.
My army has a armoured cars only, the only tracked vehicle is a slow poor ground mobility vehicle.
Where I excell is in the navy. big fast cruisers, but only a very few battleships, and no Carriers yet, but 2 large unfinished Cruisers are undergoing modification to flatdeck them to become carriers. My navy matches tonnage of britains at the beginning of the war, just in different areas, only 4 subs vs 40 or so. more cruisers, less BBs, less destroyers, far more corvettes. And is designed around my stragetic and cultural needs using the same tonnage.
My airforce however has the R-4360 engine entering production, it's a 1948 modification of a 1943 engine, made by adding a third row of cylinders behind the existing two.

Edit...
Hmm, just looked up at you Pe-2s Hainan, lol, they're the same pic I have in a smaller size somewhere around as the pic of my "Bat" bomber, tho I use an old Straight 18 engine in it, not the PE-2s more modern V-16. nice plane to look at aren't they...

(Yeah, the Derby project has been perminantly shelved...I introduced the MPAF-8 "Spirit" instead, which is a much more needed and realistic flyer. Also, Iansislean airtech is supposed to be leading edge - the reason this war even started (on one front, at least) was because an MPAF-6 being shipped to Walminton was intercepted by Germany.

Anyhow, Iansisle is totally dependent of WoS for armor, and our M74B rifle is...outdated. Our largest artillery piece is a 75mm field gun (incorrectly dubbed a 'howitzer' by Iansislean builders), and the "Colt" has a range of only 550 miles, and isn't carrier-capable. I'd say we're fairly evenly balanced - the 'Derby' won't be introduced unless a MiG-15 or some such comes into play.)

OOC:
Well, I can replace my 1943 and 1944 tech with 1941 tech, and my airforce is pretty much obsolete against Iansisle, but if he has 1944ish jet fighters while leading the jet industry, can I do the same with tanks?

My only jet is an unreliable, short range, MiG-9. I-6, its successor, s having uncontrollable spin problems.

Just asking.
