2nd Rebel Revolt (RP)

23-09-2003, 20:48
For a second time in Freedom Countries history, rebels have gained control of arms, and have began ambushing Military Forces using Guerilla tactics.

These rebels are not well armed, only with aging AK-47's, vintage Bazooka's and RPG's, and have a weak command structure.

So far, 20 soldiers, 1 BMP and a helicopter have been lost, and these rebels must be crushed.

We hope to crush them more easily than the first time.

They have no cause, other than to cause terror.

We have found 1 camp, which was bombed and shelled off the map.

Constantly, troops patrol our lands, roads and valleys (we are a mountainous country), looking for these rebels.

We hope we do no need help, but we thpught any technology needing tested could be tested here.

And they used an RPG to shoot down a hovering KA-60E

ooc: its not really that hard...

ic: The Government of Artitsa asks Freedom Country if they would like our assistance in this matter

Help is not needed, though at a leter stage the rebels may become stronger.

Already people are joining them from the city.

We have had a couple of mad farmers get bombed off the map because they took hostages with their Bolt Action Rifles in their farmouses.

Stuff the hostages, methinks, just some crazy wife.....

You do realise that it only really takes a couple of Cluster bombs to destroy and entire rebel camp (unless we are talking a rebel camp comparable to say... the penetagon...). I can lend you so CFUA-12 Gunships for testing if you want.
23-09-2003, 20:59
Sure with the gunships

stats?

And I know, but my Air Force is bored......

The Central Committee of Sandlewood has secretly dispatched a Special Commissioner from the School of Applied Maoism to the rebels in Freedom Country. The Special Commissioner has some small arms supplies for the rebels (a goodwill gift) and will investigate the rebel’s cause, their needs and see if they fulfill Sandlewood’s requirements for support.
OOC: in political leaning in the rebels, or just back anti-government?

The CFUC-12 Skyflame Gunship is based on the Sucessful CFU-12 Argo transport plane (think an upgraded A400 which is the new "replacement" for the C130 so it's bigger and slightly faster with a heavier load)

Anyway the vital stats:
Criuse speed: mach 0.7-0.8
Range 5000km
Crew: 12 (4 flight crew, 5 gunners, loadmaster and 2 loaders)
Weapons:
1x 105mm gun
2x 30mm Rarden cannons (i've got lots lying around after upgrading my Indras)
2x 25mm Gatling guns
optional mounting for rocket pods
(there is still room for outsized bombs or spec ops units to be carried).
systems:
(basic CFU-12)
Air to air refuelling probe, full digital auto pilot with GPS and inertial navigation, full digital Coms system and data link, weather radar, terrain avoidance system, full NVG capable operation, full integrated automatic threat detection and counter measures suite.
(CFUC-12 adds)
Synthetic aperture radar
All conditions EO sensor with TV camera and IR sensors.
Upgraded ECM/Jamming suite and decoy launcher.
Additional armour

hope you have fun with them, the 30mm guns might be upgraded so i'll send you 2 planes one with 30mm and one with 40mm guns to test for combat effectiveness.

The rebels have no background, they are just law breakers, ans chaos makers.

And no contact will be made from other countries to the rebels, so no.
23-09-2003, 21:26
Unable to make contact with the rebels, the Special Commissioner gathers intelligence about the rebels and Freedom Country she can, and quietly returns to Sandlewood to report to the Central Committee.

No future tech, sorry.

The gunship is fine, and will be used in patrols and the next camp attack, scheduled tommorow.
24-09-2003, 15:24
What are the rebels fighting for?
24-09-2003, 15:25
Our chaos

They are seemingly suicidal, as they know they cannot win.

Today, a second rebel encampment was hit.

Hit the combined punch of the Army, Navy and Air Force in close service use, the rebel camp was hit by the armies elite Commando's, the Navies LMA-666 Long Range Cruise Missiles, and th Air Forces CAS in the form of 2 MA-14 Fighters and a C-130 Gunship

Also tested was the CFUC-12 Skyflame gunship, which rained fire on the rebels. This is a product of Crookfur, one of FC's allies.

The camp was totally destroyed or captured, adn the surrounding hillside and forests hit as the rebels ran away.

The rebels were quelled quickly, and the Militaries Vigilante recon planes search for another base.

Rebel encampment destroyed.

The Military brass is confident that these rebels will be crushed quickly, and easily.

Any technology needing tested may be used at no cost.

Think of this as a testing platform.

No nukes of WMD though.

Two grey painted C-5s arrive in Liberty City, taxi up to an area away from the main airport, and a tall man wearing a blakc flight suit with few badges other than "McLeodian Air Force, Dreamland" on a small sew-on badge over his left pocket.

In the C-5s were the latest in McLeodian technology, yet to be used in combat situations. The birds were ready, and all tehy needed was permission.

<Deployed>

2 C-5 Galaxys
Dreamland Field Test Unit
2 Humvees
25 Tchnicians
4 Pilots
ANTARES trailer and STealthHawk support trailer
4 MUCAV-1 StealthHawks w/ANTARES control system

Feel free to use the planes, as long as they are patrol only, must ask for permission b4 doing anything, and we know where they are at all times.

Flight plans will be passed before your high-command before launches, since these are stealthy craft, and designed for strikes against dangerous remote targets.

The C-5s unload the cargo trailers into a small group way off to one sid of the airfield, and numerous satellite dishes are deployed, along with a portable hangar (big tent)

The StealthHawks are kept completely under-covers inside the hangar, with security guards armed with non-lethal weapons on the door at all times.
24-09-2003, 16:56
we send troops and we can help refugee..... if u want
24-09-2003, 16:57
We have no refugees

The rebels attack military units.

They are very much supported by the people.

And you may want to test your shiny new Rafales here.

No pictures available for release at this time (OOC: I can't find one anywhere near good enough)

Stats:

Speed: Mach 2.5
Payload: Small weapons bay, capable of holding two medium range and two short range air-to0air missiles, or a rack of 6 "mini-maverick" missiles, with 25lb warheads using such powerful explosives as to be able to knock out light tanks with relative ease.
Countermeasures: 24 rouns each for chaff and flare dispensers
Surfaces: Active surface RAM covered shape, allows superb manoueverability, since the craft bends to turn corners.
Control: Encrypted satellite link-up involving ANTARES system (neural interface via headsets. Basically allows thought-controlled flight from the ground)
