Air Marshal Trent Conner
Commander, Tilsitsinian Airforce (TAF)
Born on October 4th, 1954, in the small Tilsitsinian villiage of Yvette in the province of Thurston, the young Trent Conner was born into a moderately successful middle-class family of five, having two sisters and a brother. After graduating high school near the middle of his class at age 17, the young Conner was conscripted into the Tilsitsinian Army as a private, where he served as a crewmember on a field artillery gun crew. As his 3-year enlistment in the army expired, now Sergeant Conner applied for and was accepted into the Airforce Academy at New Vero.
Cadet Conner was seen as a natural pilot and a gifted student of military science at the academy, receiving top marks throughout his schooling there. Senior Flight Cadet Conner graduated 7th in his class of 231 in 1974. As his first posting, Lieutenant Conner was assigned to the 8th Fighter Squadron, flying MiG-23s out of Holt AFB fifty five miles northwest of Tilsitsin City. It was shortly after this that Tilsitsin was plunged into a bloody civil war between the controlling monarchy, and the insurgent socialists. Although many airforce officers defected over to the side of the socialists, Lieutenant Conner chose to remain loyal to the monarchy. At the close of the civil war two years later, Conner was a captain commanding a flight in the 8th Squadron with 142 combat patrols under his belt and six air-to-air victories credited.
Although Conner had fought for the loyalists during the civil war he was permitted to remain on with the "new" airforce, as he had become one of Tilsitsin's foremost air strategists, and had already written a book entitled "Jet Age Fighter-Bomber Operations" as well as several published articles concerning air tactics. After holding various positions at the squadron and group level, Conner was promoted to the rank of major. With this promotion, Conner was transferred to act as XO, 1st Attack Squadron, flying the Su-25. Now Major Conner fought with the 1st throughout the Iron Crow independence war, and in the process earned his promotion to lieutenant-colonel and command of the entire 4th Attack Group. Conner commanded this unit throughout the Harding Beach Island Conflict (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46072&start=0), during which the unit earned battle honors for it's performance.
At the close of hostilities, LTC Conner was selected to attend the Airforce High Command Staff School in Tilsitsin City, while he was only 37 years old. Upon graduation from the school, Conner was promoted to full colonel and posted to command the famous 2nd Fighter Wing. Conner commanded the 2nd Wing until his promotion to brigadier general, after which he was posted to act as deputy operations officer, Tilsitsinian Airforce Fighter Command. Conner then held several posts within fighter command before being promoted to major general, at which point he was also transferred to the Air Transport Command to act as it's commander.
Conner acted in this capacity until his promotion to lieutenant-general and operations officer of the Air Force High Command. Conner served as operations officer until his posting to Senior Staff Officer, before being promoted to Junior Air Marshal. Shortly after this important promotion, tensions rose with the countries of Dumb and Dumber and Pantera. JAM* Conner was responsible for air force operational planning in any potential conflicts with these nations, and it was at this time that Conner authored the revolutionary "Iron Blow (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=70046&start=0)" plan, designed to cripple Panteran military might through massive airforce strikes. With the opening of hostilities against Pantera, JAM Conner was named as commander, Tilsitsinian Air Expeditionary Forces, involved in the Panteran conflict. Commanding over a thousand aircraft, Conner proved to be an excellent strategic planner and gifted visionary. And although Tilsitsin ultimately conceded defeat in the conflict, the airforce was seen as a shining light among the armed forces, and Conner as one of Tilsitsin's biggest heroes of the war.
Partly through his public popularity, but mainly through his skill, ability and foresight, Conner was named as the 5th commander of the Tilsitsinian Airforce and promoted to full Air Marshal shortly after the conclusion of hostilities with Pantera. Trent Conner is married to his wife of 17 years Martha, and is the father of four children.
