OOC: This is not invite only however, I reserve the right to ignore anyone who does something that I believe would be contrary to the physics and mechanics of this RP. So, no deploying massive numbers, in fact the maximum deployment unless I TG you with something different, will be 21 men. Of course, none of this applies to me.
IC: The squad had taken a break; Jango was an expert scout but had lost his right arm in a recent battle. The replacement, a thing of black metal worked better than his real hand had, but the Powers That Be had still put him on light duty. The ten men with him had collapsed, throwing down their weapons and letting themselves fall to the ground. The Sergeant was the only one who remained professional and he was simply sitting with his back to the pass cleaning his rifle. Jango was disgusted with their lack of professionalism; he leaned against a boulder and surveyed the area. A slight glint in the pass below caught his eye.
By the time Jango realized what was happening it was too late. At the end of the pass 600 meters below an unknown rifleman let loose, his first three shots ripped through the sergeant’s body and armor. The Padmasan men all hit the dirt and swung their heads about franticly looking for the shooter. Jango saw him but all he could do was fall into a crouch and duck under the slight overhang of the boulder. It was at this point that another shooter, Jango couldn’t figure out where, fired two more Padmasan men fell. Jango had never seen a weapon like these; the rounds were tearing through the armor like it wasn’t there!
Jango crouched farther and franticly looked around trying to identify where the next shots would ring out from. The other men had formed a circle and were firing at shadows. None of them saw the two men crouched so far above, but these two scored 6 kills before the Padmasans opened fire on them. One of the men fell, a 3 hundred feet to land a bare 20 meters from where Jango crouched. The only remaining Padmasan looked back at Jango, flashed a thumbs-up, and pressed the activator on the activator of the grenade he held. He was dead in seconds. Jango waited maybe two hours, and then he scrambled out and snatched up a comm pack, some ammo, the enemy rifle, and the enemy’s ammo.
Jango ducked back into his hiding space and then began calling out. “This is Padmasan Patrol Zero, Tango, Alpha, Bravo, two, zero, nine. We are under attack from unknown aggressors wielding strange weapons. We are above the Red Pass, please send help! Be aware that these new rifles treat powered armor as if it weren’t there.” Jango then lay back and waited.
OOC: I may or may not hand out the rifle's tech/specs when this is done. It has yet to be decided.
